Wanted something that I could take while on my motorcycle. hiking, Kayaking and outdoor actives and this fit the bill, very happy with the images and ease of camera

Olympus really takes excellent pictures ... And believe it to be as tough as they say... And so many times since I do not have a smart phone, I absolutely love the capability of selfies with my camera... And in shopping for a camera was taken with what this camera offered... When the sales girl showed me what did, I was tickled.. . Did not buy right then, looked on the Internet and found that Best Buy was the only place to sell my dream camera...so back out to purchase..

Use this on the jobsite and it works great in rain or sunshine. Takes good pictures and easy to use.

Screen resolution/display is horrible, but the quality of the photos/videos do not suffer. Tons of features but it doesn't keep all of your settings once the camera has been powered off. Wide angle lens is awesome. If you're looking for a decent waterproof camera and/or small size camera for selfies if you don't want to use your phone, then it's worth it!

Hi, Everybody, and Wow: I want to say so much that I wouldn't know where to begin, yet I do! The NUMBER ONE thing I think you need to know, and this feature is not indicated anywhere in any specifications, the manual, etc., is that the Olympus TG-870 can actually be fully operated without the battery! Using the supplied adapter and cable, it can do EVERYTHING on household current alone without the battery in the camera! To me, this is DEFINITELY a very important item of knowledge for a prospective buyer. I also have the TG-830, the last Olympus Tough model in this series not to have the 180-degree flip-up selfie photo and video screen, and that model has to have the battery installed to operate the camera on household current. However, even in this condition, it can only be used to view and edit (both) photos and videos, but it cannot be used to take photos or record videos. For those operations I have to use that camera on battery power alone. Additionally, this Olympus Tough series is the only option among major manufacturers (and perhaps among any manufacturers, period) that gives us both the rugged features and the 180-degree flip-up selfie screen! By "rugged," I mean waterproof, dustproof, freezeproof, shockproof, and crushproof, so you can take it out in the field with confidence and without worry! I have more to say, and I strongly suggest you go ahead and download the complete user's manual before buying the camera. I read it many times before making my purchase, and I am continuing to read and reread it! You have MUCH to learn, my friends, unless you are already very much on top of your Olympus Tough series game! Here is a hint: The manual does not go into every detail, and the camera has perhaps one more pleasant surprise, although I have not tested it out yet. I think, though, that in the Sport Mode or maybe in another mode when the camera is set to keep taking photos all by itself, that in all but the two fastest settings it might refocus between shots. If so, to me that is a MAJOR feature, although I cannot guarantee you of its existence! I say this because the focus light lights up each time just before shooting each new shot. Again, I have not tested this particular possibility out, but the user's manual does not say anything either way about refocusing between shots in auto shooting. Brought the camera home and made sure it didn't leak. Took some pictures from underwater and out of water. The pictures were outstanding.

Took this on a snorkeling trip and got amazing photos! Easy to use and very convenient to upload photos without plugging anything in. Love it.

Love almost everything about this durable camera. -Great pics -Well built, not cheap plasticky -Decent battery life Only con was the camera needs to be charged with the battery door open. Seems kinda strange but understandable. I just wish they had a protective tab to charge the camera instead of having to open the battery door.

I haven't used it yet for underwater, but am looking forward to trying that. It's a bit heavy, but solid. I miss having a viewfinder when glare makes seeing the screen tough. Pictures have been fine, and battery life has been good so far (nice to have a rechargeable!)

Great camera for the barrier reef, great shots and videos, and the wifi was fantastic to load the photos to my phone and up to Facebook.

This is our 2nd Olympus Tough camera which I use mainly from the passenger seat of a motorcycle. Settings and menus are a little different so there is a learning curve but photo quality is fine. My only issue is with the video button which is situated so that I often press it without realizing it as I attempt to take still pictures. I have learned to be more careful but it is inconvenient.

great under water shots-------fits well in pocket-----short battery life

I bought this one for work to replace a 4-year old TG-1, which still works well and went to a co-worker. I have been impressed with the solid construction of the Olympus TG line, and this new one seems just as good so far. Image quality and GPS appear fine out of the box, but I have not had much of a chance to really check out the details. If it lasts as long as our others, then it is a great deal.

Great camera that is tough and held up well while traveling. Takes great pics, easy to use

I would have given it 5 stars, but I have only owned it for 1 month. So far, holds up GREAT. Took it in the pool, the lake, action shots, batch shots are sweet. NO problems. Pictures are excellent. The only thing I would like is for a a bit more zoom. Otherwise...It is worth every penny and then some.

Photos we took underwater and videos turned out great. Didn't always take the best pics out of water. There were quite a few that blurred. Played around with it and found different settings that would work a little better for the different situations. Definitely glad I got it. Used it while snorkeling with my family on our recent cruise and while rafting down the river.

Bought this camera for upcoming cruise where we will be snorkeling. Great for underwater pictures and video.
