Purchased this camera mostly for in pools and beaches but it's a great all-around camera. It takes clear underwater videos and pictures. Also great every day photos. It's easy to use, even my kids who are 10 and 11 love using it in the pool to take photos and videos. Love how the screen flips up to take selfie photos and videos. Definitely recommend this camera to anyone wanting great photos and videos underwater.

I had to buy this camera on the fly without reading reviews after my phone got wet on vacation. I've had it for a few months now and here's what I think so far. Pros: It's very sturdy and can take a beating. Being able to flip the screen for selfies is a lot more helpful than I thought. Now I can't live without it. If you know how to use all the different modes then you're in good shape when it comes to the picture quality. Cons: Battery life is not that good. I'm constantly having to charge it in my car as I'm going from one place to another as I'm sightseeing. The strap that comes with it is no good so I ended up using a different one from another device. If these two issues are not a problem for you then you should get this camera.

I recently traveled to the Bahamas. This camera was perfect for all the tours. I never had to worry about the rain, dropping it, or using it underwater. It took nice pics and videos above and below the water. And I loved the selfie screen. Remember to rinse it off with water once it has salt water on it. That helps keep the lens clear and not cloudy. I dropped this camera on the rocks and it was scratched slightly, but wasn't damaged. The battery isn't great for videos, so I bought an extra battery. Two batteries were perfect for the all day tour. This camera was a perfect small, well-priced, waterproof camera. Took better pics and video then I saw from the GoPros. Would highly recommend this for the underwater function and the selfie screen.

This was a last minute buy before a snorkeling trip and worth every cent. The underwater photos were incredible. The ease of use and the wi-fi feature made using this camera a breeze. I would reccommend getting a spare battery.

I needed a new camera that could get wet.....after doing a bunch of research I chose the Olympus TG-870 and I'm glad I did. I compare it to my previous Panasonic camera which was great until I walked into an ocean wave in the Bahamas....Rogue Wave....put me and the camera on our butts....good bye Panasonic. My favorite thing about the Olympus is that when you hit that power button....it turns on Right NOW and doesn't have any blasted warning screens to cause you to loose your shot. #2 Favorite thing.....Batteries are cheap and plentiful! I found out the hard way that if you start uploading pictures to your phone the battery power goes down quickly! Hold off on the Wi-Fi until the end of the day and your battery life will be very adequate....Only used 2 per day on my Disney trip last week. Nuff Said. I haven't really used the GPS feature yet.....but it seems to work. When taking a picture....the focus was great but playing the picture back on the camera screen showed a fuzzy image.....I was upset and worried. But once I uploaded to my computer I found very nice sharp images with good exposure and I'm very pleased. If it ever quits raining I've got a kayak waiting and can't wait to get out on the lake and get wet.

It was between this camera and the Olympus Tough TG-4. I decided to go for this, as it seemed a simpler camera to use, had a hinged screen (great for group selfies) and was around $70 cheaper than the TG-4. I cannot compare the 2 cameras as I have never used the TG-4, but I can say that I am very happy with this camera. It is extremely easy to use, takes decent pictures and is very rugged. We took this to the beach recently and used it to take lots of photos in the water as well as on the sandy beach. When we got back to the hotel, a quick rinse under the tap and the camera was completely clean and sand free. It also took some great underwater shots. I also like the ability to upload photos to the internet directly from the camera.

I am a photographer and sometimes carrying the big DSLR becomes an issue, specially in bad weather. If you are looking for a camera that is great for daily day photos but better than you phone and all weather proof this is the answer. Surprisingly this is amazing for selfies also. I did a lot of research before getting another point and shot camera. But when I saw this camera going on sale I didn't think it twice. It's amazing, quality wise I am very happy, the fact I can shoot in rainy days is a plus, the super wide angle is great to have. Overall is one of the best cameras out there. Battery wise approx 40mins but easy to charge with any usb adapter.

Bought the Olympus TG-870 for my recent trip to Maui. I wanted a camera capable of taking pictures under water somewhere the visibility was good. As far as the under water aspect, it worked perfectly. The bluetooth transfer of pics to my phone was a great feature. Using the 180 degree flippable preview screen was excellent for selfies and videos. The battery life wasn't as good as I was hoping for, but I had backup batteries so no major downfall. Overall it was a good purchase.

Not an SLR, but great for what it is, small, light weight, waterproof, easy to travel with. Takes exceptionally good pictures for its size. Love the flip screen for selfies.

This camera produces good photos. I wanted a camera that I could take on vacation that was waterproof so we could take it into the pool and ocean and this camera worked fantastic. Would definitely recommend this camera to others. Very sturdy camera.

I took it to the pool...i took it whitewater rafting and all the pics and video look great. I bought a floaty hand bracelet with it which should just come with it as it is a much needed. I wish you could take pics at a faster rate but all in all its a nifty little handheld camera that can handle going underwater. It would be nice if the battery had a % meter as it ran out on me sooner than expected. Happy with the purchase so far!

This is a handy camera to carry around in my pack. It takes very good pictures and is very easy to sync the camera with my mobile phone to transfer pictures. If I could change anything about it, I'd reduce the options menu on several different levels. Some setting seem superfluous and very little about it is intuitive. That having been said, I still would recommend it, just with building in a decent amount of learning curve time to properly operate the camera.

We've been buying the Olympus tough cameras for several years now. This was an upgrade from the TG-830 as we wanted the WiFi option to move photos from the camera to the phone for posting on social media. First weekend with the camera was at a hotel using it for photos in the pool as well as on their lake while kayaking and paddle boarding. Takes great pictures underwater in the pool.

Love this camera!!! Outdoors, indoors....just keeps surprising me. it has an extra wide angle and low,light abilities that make for impressive interiors shots. Then take it Outdoors and the color saturation and auto exposure adjust make for fast and easy great photos. It's also very intuitive for the controls. My only suggestion is since tthe battery is proprietary and you cannot use disposable, get a second battery with the wall charger so you don't get caught with dead battery.

This camera has some great features and is rugged enough to take a beating from all the drops and falls that kids can cause. It's video feature with the front facing display is awesome for my daughter to capture vlogging videos that are really good quality. The fact that she can take underwater footage and shots with this camera without damaging the camera is another great feature. What more can you ask for from a camera at this price point. I highly recommend this for the up and coming amateur vlogger or for a spare camera.

Great travel camera. The selfy reversible screen is especially useful when you want to get those shots during sporty activities. The pictures and video are great for someone not aiming to do high end photography, just making high quality memories to keep on monitors or print out. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wrist strap is flimsy and come apart somewhat easily, which can be a hassle when you are falling through the sky or hanging off a cliff.

Waterproof and takes good quality pics at and just below the surface. Didn't do so great photographing colorful fish along a coral reef 10 feet below. Video is sharp and clear, but sometimes has a "wavy" quality - possibly due to image stabilization? Does great in bright sunlight or flat light - weak in shadowed areas often producing pics that are too dark. Especially liked the selfie button on the front w/ the flip down screen. Worked very well.

Takes good pictures, a little dissapointed with low light situations, but that is always tough on cameras. This one is supposed to be waterproof etc. So my next vaca in 1 week involves water sports and that should put it to the test.
