I took the camera on a trip my wife and I went to the Philippines to see her family. I used it for a wide variety of pictures, anywhere from scenery pics to underwater pics at a hotel swimming pool, to pics while we toured some of the 7000 plus islands that make up the Philippines. We did some snorkeling and took a lot of still pics and videos. I was pretty impressed for a simple point and shoot camera. It managed to do a pretty good job through a wide variety of circumstances. I had no issues with any water seepage inside the camera. I guess my main gripe would be with the charging design and the Olympus specific plug that is needed. Other then that it works well, but don't expect a DSLR quality pic!! One other thing....watch the placement of your hands on the camera body....it's easy to get your finger in the way due to the lens placement!!

Camera takes good pictures for the price. We bought this camera for a trip to Cancun. We purchased a more secure strap for it since the one that it comes with is cheap and will easily come undone. Underwater photos are good if you use the beach setting. I found the other underwater settings distorted the pictures. The better the lighting, the better the pictures. This camera does not take great pictures in dark settings. Overall, it is a good camera for the price and I will use it again.

This camera was perfect for my vacation to the Bahamas. I never had to worry about the rain or ocean. I loved the wrist strap just in case. Remember to rinse your camera off after the ocean or the salt will crust on the lens. This was the best vacation purchase and I can't wait to use it on more trips. The flip screen made selfies super easy. The pictures and videos came out great. I wish I had paid more attention to all the bells and whistles, but even as auto the pics were awesome.

I bought this camera to photograph the Great Barrier Reef while snorkeling. It is truly water-proof, at least in shallow water. We never had the camera below 1 meter of water but were able to turn it on/off, take still pictures and video that came out well. After exposure to seawater all that is required is brushing off sand/debris and rinsing with fresh water. Weeks after the trip, no damage noticed. Has been dropped from a few feet with no damage, it is tough! Battery lasts approximately 8 hours with heavy use. Picture quality could of course be better, this is a solution for rough or harsh places. Increase speed of read/write by buying a good SD card, we used SanDisk XTremePro 64GB. Had some issues dealing with very dark or bright environments. Well worth the money, glad we bought it.

I bought this camera for rafting and hiking the Grand Canyon to avoid water and dust. Haven't made it rafting yet. The Grand Canyon was the test. Worked well, quick start up, easy to use and rugged. Main issues were 1. low light photos had a lot of noise and poor definition, 2. The settings wheel flipped off auto pretty easily and unknown to me. Most of the pics were good unless there was low light.

This camera is very good, especially considering the price. The underwater pics (from snorkeling; 2-5 ft underwater) were quite good. The ability to flip the rear viewing screen is terrific. It helped with selfies (while in the water), and with seeing what I'm taking pics of when I'm at odd angles in the water. The one negative is that after you pull the camera out of the water and take a pic above water, there may be water drops on the lens which will affect the picture quality. I wonder if treating the lens with Rain-X (like you'd do for your car windshield) would help with that.

I bought this little camera because in the hustle of leaving for our family reunion in Florida I left my Canon compact camera at home. The other reason for selecting this model instead of another Canon was its tough built, its waterproofing features and its price. We took well over 500 photos, most of them at the pool and the beach and this little camera shined. The photos were crisp and the colors vibrant. Not what I was expecting from a digital compact. My little one and a half year old grandson put its toughness to the test on one of out trips to the pool by throwing it against the floor several times before I caught him and I quickly snapped several photos of the perpetrator to see if it was still good to go and the little camera did not fail me. The selfie feature was also a nice surprise that the family quickly took a hold of. The only thing with it is that I couldn't make it work with my niece's selfie stick. Other than that, thIs little compact is now my go to camera for family reunions!

I bought this camera as a replacement for my Pentax WG-1 adventure camera. The Pentax is great, but this really expands on it. I like doing things outdoors in settings my SLR won't, so the need for being waterproof, shockproof, and freezeproof is necessary Since I bought this camera, I've taken it to Moab, Utah, and on 2 Spartan Races, so its already been in rugged and wet conditions. So what do I love about this camera: -The latched panel. There is one panel for the memory card and battery, and it latches and has a swivel lock, much more secure than the Pentax. -Flip screen. I still use the top shutter and not so much the front button, but the flip-up screen is invaluable for lining up that perfect shot. -WiFi. I downloaded the Olympus app on my Android device. Initial set-up is very easy. After taking a picture with the camera, turn on the wifi, open the app, and transfer pictures. I prefer this method as opposed to my EyeFi card because I can choose which pictures I want. -Shooting modes. There are a lot of really cool shooting modes. A lot of cool lens effects, interval shooting, panorama, and the video is really good, too. -16.0MP. An upgrade from the 14.0MP Pentax. Takes very good pictures for a point-n-shoot. -My Pentax D-LI92 batteries are compatible/same as the Olympus LI-50B Cons: -Weight. Its heavier than other cameras this size, but it has the extra goodies in the flip-screen. This is just nit-picking. -Screen susceptible to scratches. Put a protective film on it, it gets fine scratches, but so does anything else. I would absolutely recommend this camera to anyone. I've purchased other cameras in this category, but returned them. Then I found this gem.

I bought this in a hurry when i was heading to Hawaii. Used it for snorkeling and got some super fantastic pics. Just be sure you have it on the proper settings for that or you just get blue/green blurs. It was the only camera i took and it worked beautifully for everything. I even did a few short videos. Picture and sound were great. This is durable, water-proof and takes great pics. Not just "good for the price", it's an all around good camera.

We took this everywhere on our vacation and got some amazing shots - Dolphins underwater, waterfalls, miudding through back roads. It does a nice job with panoramic, close up, video, selfies, wide shots and nice to have the 5x zoom too. 5 stars for design and images given its sensor size (small.) Caveat - it did malfunction after almost a month and we exchanged for another (same model.)

Bought this specifically for beach life & Snorkelling. Loads of fun not having to worry about getting this camera wet. Underwater selfies! Come on, so good. Better quality than just using a cell phone. Easy to use, durable. Seems like a quality camera.

This camera takes awesome pictures. We used it in the Gulf and in pools and in a river swimming with the manatees. I couldn't be any happier. It is easy to transfer pictures from the camera to your phone too. I did recommend this camera to a friend and she also loves it.

I liked the camera. Outdoor photos are sharp. underwater shots take some getting used to, we didn't try different settings, just auto mode. but they were still fun to take, but we need to learn more about taking underwater shots with the camera. When I read reviews, I was concerned about the life of a charge - one charge, and camera had power for entire 7 day cruise. Granted, when not using, I turned it off.

Knowing that my vacation would include several days on a desert island with several boat excursions to visit birds and sea lion sanctuaries, I wanted a waterproof camera. This camera proved to be the ticket item that I needed. I thoroughly enjoyed the photo opportunities with this new camera. I am happy with the results of the filter settings. My tour guides liked the results with my new camera.

I needed a relatively affordable camera for a vacation trip and this one met all expectations. I have now taken it snorkeling numerous times diving up to 25 ft and everytime I got fantastic photos. Just be careful what setting you have it on I ended up with pics of everything green due to having an art filter selected while diving a particular reef.

This camera was worth the purchase. I took it to Jamaica on vacation and it performed well. My only wish would be that the pictures were a bit sharper. No blur or anything like that but I wanted my images a bit sharper. Still I got some nice photos from my vacation.
