Got this one on Black Friday super sale so saved a good $300. As for the computer, love how slick and fast it runs, probably due to the SSD it comes with. Can run most games at medium to high settings and for those who want to run newer and more demanding games I would recommend upgrading the graphic card and added a fan cause as other reviews have said, computer can get a little hot.

I bought this on a recommendation from my raid leader after detailing how pricing out a self-build on a new rig wasn't working out. I'd already reached $1800 in projected costs just for what HP put into this, albeit with hardware chosen to be far more future-proof. A few caveats: this system has a 500W PSU and enough room in the case to take a video card upgrade, and one spare SATA port for an additional hard drive. I put a SSD in instead, and had to leave it just hanging by cable tension in the second hard drive slot. The 1TB HDD it comes with is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.14, and actually delivers some pretty decent (for a hard drive) sustained read/write speeds topping out at 210MB/sec. That said, it's still a HDD, the random access speeds will pale compared to a SSD. The 256GB SSD is an M.2 from Toshiba, and manages 800MB/sec reads, 650MB/sec writes. The RAM is Kingston HyperX Fury, and so effortlessly took another 16GB stick that costed me an additional $100. The PSU supplies enough power to handle an RTX 2060 6GB, and has two 6+2 PCIe connectors, for which the included GTX 1060 3GB only uses one 6-pin. If your intent is to just buy and use it as-is, it'll handle anything short of RTX-specifics at 1080p just fine, although the 3GB vram will limit your options with newer games. The included keyboard is decent; the included mouse can be tossed, it's just a standard two-button-plus-scrollwheel optical mouse with HP branding, so can be replaced with anything more ideal for gaming.

it is a super fast computer. I don't use it for games. I use it to work so I am a bit small on space but you can add hard drives. It is stable and I never had a problem. the price I bought it was very good for the computer it is. Now I would buy an even more powerful one but it is a very good machine. I recommend it

This Omen gaming desktop is a great mid-range gaming system. The GeForce GTX 1060 in this particular config is the lower spec'd 1060 with 3GB of RAM vs 6GB in the higher spec 1060. I'm not a heavy gamer, so the difference is negligible and this card is more than sufficient for my occasional FPS and sports games. The 8th gen 8700 i7 processor is also the locked model rather than the unlocked K model but again, it's sufficient for my use. I have no need or plans to overclock, so the base differences are again negligible. The processor and 16GB DDR4 2666 RAM combo are great for photo and video editing, which is how I primarily use this system. The power supply is 500W which is fine for the current config. The Edoras H370 motherboard only has two RAM slots but it ships with one 16GB RAM module installed which makes upgrading to 32GB as simple as throwing a second 16GB stick in the empty slot. The mini-ATX tower looks good and has the space and easy access for expansion but the motherboard poses some real problems for upgrading. There are no available slots on the motherboard. There is only one PCIe slot and it's taken by the video card. If you want to add any additional cards, like a better sound card for example, a new motherboard will be required. The motherboard also doesn't support unlocked processors, so stepping up to the K version would require a new motherboard as well. There is a spare bay and existing cables in the front for another hard drive if desired. The case has a clear plexiglass side panel that opens with the push of a button. It also has interior lighting and an illuminated logo on the front. All lighting is customizable despite the product description saying the contrary. Lighting is controlled through the pre-installed HP Omen Command Center software. The Omen Command Center software not only works for controlling and customizing the case lighting but will also control other HP Omen accessories. I connected an Omen Sequencer keyboard and it was basically plug and play for lighting and key programming. I opened the Omen Command Center after plugging in the keyboard and found that the keyboard was available in the app without any further configuration required. The software automatically detected and setup the keyboard seamlessly. Performance is great for my needs. The machine is virtually silent during normal desktop use and even performs well under a heavy load. I regularly edit large video projects with no problems and this desktop handles pretty much whatever photo/video editing challenges I throw at it. Rendering is nice and fast compared to my old system. I haven't run into any performance or heat issues with either video editing or gaming. This is despite having only one smallish rear exhaust fan in the case and no intake fans. The Omen Command Center helps me monitor temps during demanding use. I'm not a hardcore gamer, so the experience may be different for those who demand the fastest frame rates with everything set to ultra at high resolutions. The bundled keyboard and mouse are okay but basic. I swapped them out with an HP Omen Sequencer keyboard and Hyper-X gaming mouse. Both work very well with this system. Bloatware is thankfully kept to a minimum. The only thing I had to uninstall was McAfee. There are several HP apps installed but they haven't really bothered me so far. Some, like the aforementioned Omen Command Center, are even very useful. Overall, I like this desktop. I think it's a decent deal, especially if offered on sale at prices like it sold for this past Black Friday. That was an unbeatable bargain. Just keep in mind, it's configured to be used mostly as-is. The limited upgrade path means any major upgrades not supported by the current motherboard could potentially erase any savings.

I looked at a number of Gaming Desktops online and this was the best bargain. 16GB expandable to 32GB Ram. i7-8700 Chip, GTX 1060 Graphics card. With a 256gb SSD and a 1k HD. I did not see any online or in stores that combines the gear for excellent gaming at this price point. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I was reluctant to purchase a refurbished HP Omen PC from Best Buy. The discount was attractive but the out of pocket cost was still substantial. This PC was replacing one I had purchase some 8-9 years ago. I had upgraded it to Windows 10 and needless to say it ran slowly or slower. This machine is VERY fast. It boots in a few seconds. I've never had a faster machine. It performs updates to software in seconds - literally. I have never had such a responsive machine. I am not a gamer. I use the machine with Microsoft Office and some other software I've purchased that won't strain most machines. I wanted a fast machine without being limited. I am glad to have purchased this machine. The 256 GB SSD is great. Plenty of room to connect wireless devices if you choose and HDMI devices. It does lack a DVD reader/writer. I did pick one up for $40 and it connected easily without issue. You may need to do the same if you're at all reliant on any software/music/data stored on CDs/DVDs. So it has been 2 months - I don't like submitting a review inside a week of my purchasing a product - particularly a computer. I'm still very satisfied with this HP Omen.

We bought this as our main computer. I have never had a computer with SSD. It is awesome. Who wants a computer you have to wait for it to boot up. It fires up instantly and we have not run into any issues with the computer. I am impressed with how well it runs any applications.

Excellent computer. Very fast. Very cool. The lights are all changeable and programmable which really makes for a nice tool I’ve only had for a couple of weeks but it is an excellent computer and a very good price when I was on sale. If you’re looking for a good gaming computer this is the one.

Got this PC on a black Friday sale and I'm very impressed... runs any game I throw at it with ease. The lighting effects are cool.. I find it especially useful you can set the lights on a gradient that can visually inform you of the CPU processing percentage or temperature, useful for while you're gaming and need to monitor your performance. The financing plan was super simple also.. I basically just went in to look at it and walked out with the whole box in hand, no money down or anything. The interest free promotion they have is very reasonable as well. I told my friend about the PC and he went and bought the same one the next day, now we are no longer xbox gamers! All in all very happy with my purchase

I got this wonderful PC at a steal of a price. So far a month later, I still have no regrets buying this. HP has come a long way since Pavilion (the last PC I owned years ago). The Omen is truly remarkable, fast, and first time user friendly.

If you can buy this PC for under $1000, go for it. The i7 8700 is an amazing processor and the GTX 1060 3GB is great for the $1000 range. I’ve ran GTA 5 @ 60fps Ultra, BO3 @ 60fps Ultra, and Fortnite runs in the 200-450s depending on graphic settings. The main issue with this PC is cooling. The CPU hits 80C with ease and is a bit to hit for me. I’ve wanted to change to a Liquid AIO, but there’s no access from the back panel. Another issue is the PSU, it’s power limit throttles the CPU. Another is the GPU, while the GTX 1060 3GB is great, it’s just some cheap HP branded GPU. It’s still a GTX 1060, but not a good, dual fan, good clock, etc GPU. If you want to over clock it, you can, but keep the side panel of, it helps with the temps reducing them about 10C on the CPU and GPU.

I bought this computer as I do animated videos and needed something with bigger graphics and processor speeds. Although, I dislike (C) drive being so small, and having to continue to remove hidden files etc. It seems to be working wonderfully.

I waited three months to review this computer---- until I had used it enough to have a good idea of it's performance and any possible pros/cons. This is a well spec'd computer, and even though I am NOT a gamer, that is why I purchased it. It was the only HP available with 16GB memory and a decent sized SSD at this price point. After a "learning" curve on my part, I got it set up with only Windows and a couple of select apps on the SSD, and all other programs and data files on the hard drive. The computer is very responsive and solidly built. The reasons I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5: no CD/DVD drive --- and ESPECIALLY because of that, it would have been nice to have more USB's on the front side where you could easily reach them. Plenty on the back, but requires pulling the machine out to plug something in. All considered, I would still recommend this as a good buy at the price point.
