Decent Apple TV replacement remote, but a little disappointed in the body construction lightweight plastic compared to the more solid feeling aluminum body chassis of the actual Apple TV remote. Set up super easy out of the box in the remote quickly paired to my Apple TV. Did a great job of turning on my AV receiver TV in Apple TV. Nicely able to navigate Using the remotes buttons including direction pad and enter button centered in the direction pad. Button acts like a back button and worked nicely. Voice button to communicate in dictate to Siri worked well too. Play pause And Ford and back buttons working as intended. There’s a couple extra buttons that I have not yet figured out. It would work With the Apple TV system, but not a dealbreaker there. A nice huge upgrade feature over the Apple TV remote is the backlit buttons on the remote that wake up when you lift up the remote. That is Great feature on any remote. However, when powering off for whatever reason, the TV and Apple TV power down only and the AV receiver does not power off, and I have to manually shut it off or use my other universal remote so little disappointed there. Again the construction, not solid as an original Apple TV remote, but does have a lot of nice features and a good decent Apple TV replacement remote. If I can just figure out how to power down the AV receiver, I would give it another star.

Good Alternative Replacement

If you like streaming with AppleTV but aren't a fan of their small remotes, this is a great alternative. I would go so far to say this is a firestick remote for your AppleTV. Besides how it looks, I would say it resembles a firestick for one key reason. This remote has the round click button vs the AppleTV remote's swipe function.
I use Fubo the most on my AppleTV and this remote worked just fine for it, all while getting a bigger device to hold that also has light up keys. The round wheel skips ahead my DVR by 15 seconds at a time just like clicking on my AppleTV.
The remote paired with my AppleTV and TV almost instantly while following the directions and most of the buttons work but the one con for this remote is a few didn't. It might be the app I use, as mentioned above, but the Fast Forward, Reverse and Guide keys don't do anything. It's fine, as I said above, the click wheel does a lot of what I need. I just wanted to mention that your mileage may vary depending on which streaming app you use.
One other noticeable difference that I wanted to point out is that this remote uses AAA batteries vs being an internal rechargeable battery. I don't know how long these batteries will last, but I don't see it as a deal breaker when replacing your original Apple remote.
Overall, this remote works well and I would recommend giving it a try if you lost or broke your original remote and or like the style of a firestick remote.

Great size, easy to use, not as durable as Apple’s

I love my AppleTV 4k latest model, but one thing I dislike about all the appletv products have been the tiny remotes. I’m a man with fairly average sized hands, and find the official remotes to be uncomfortable to use. This remote from One For All is a perfect size. No need for charging as it uses AAA batteries. Really the only drawback is the remote is plastic and the buttons are a tad mushy compared to the firm clicks of the official remote. Aside from that, it’s a fantastic alternative to the official remote. Button placement is similar to your standard remote as well as a few added buttons for live tv services. In all, it’s a good device, but I would have liked a more durable material to the body of the remote. It feels better than generic cheap universal remotes sold in grocery stores, but it doesn’t feel as premium for the price. Rivaling the cost of the official remote, it should either be aluminum like the official or rechargeable. Unless size is an issue, I don’t see any real advantage of this over the official remote. Hopefully I’m wrong and the remote lasts several years.

If you went to the trouble to buy an Apple TV because you like using Apple products, just go buy the Apple remote, this remote is a different beast. Compared in size to the Siri remote this one takes up more space. My wife likes that this remote is physically larger, and it’s black, she said it stands out on the couch much better.
After installing the not included pair of alkaline AAA batteries, I was able to pair this remote effortlessly with the Apple TV after only a few moments of trying to figure out what the Apple TV’s idea of “near” is. It paired fine at about 6 inches, so I’ll say that’s a start!
The nice thing about having the remote paired is that it is using Bluetooth to communicate with the ATV, so you don’t have to point it at the box, which is really nice for folks like me, who prefer minimal movement in all of life’s activities. HOWEVER. Despite the visual similarity in the photos, this is not a touch/slide control remote like the two latest Apple remotes. You will have thumbs of steel in no time surfing through endless scrolling menus - this is a 4-way clicker with a center select button.
So, one of the most important UI elements of the Apple TV 4K is ignored by this remote, so it’s not really a replacement, it’s more of a different style. My sister prefers that style, I think this is who the remote is made for. Clickers.
The backlit buttons are mostly a gimmick, the buttons are too small for the miniaturized icons to mean much of anything anyway. I think touting the Apple TV’s ability to use industry standard CEC commands, like pretty much everything you can buy now, is a little misleading. The only control you’ll have over other devices sure seems to be that which you would have via HDMI connections anyway.
Overall, I think the slippery black plastic, the hollow feel, mushy buttons all add up to a disappointing feel in the hand. I think this would work as an only option if you needed a remote and nothing else was around.
Three stars. It works, but it makes you feel bad for the future while you're using it.

Needed to replace a broken apple remote & this works great. It has all the controls the apple remote had - but this is actually easier to use, since it actually has buttons & it still has the voice feature. I'm very happy with this product.

Deceptive Marketing, Basic Remote

I want to start this review by saying I'm truly let down by this product and the company that makes it. The box of the remote states that this remote can control your TV, Apple TV, and Audio System. (Modeless)
This makes you assume that the remote functions as a universal type remote that you can use to control individual devices without using the Apple TV.
This is completely misleading and is a sales/marketing ploy to get people to buy this remote.
Upon using this remote it became completely clear that the remote does not control anything but the Apple TV, and it is solely the Apple TV that controls your tv and audio system. This is how the Apple TV has always worked.
The ONE FOR ALL remote needs (2) two (AAA) batteries which are NOT included. For the price of this remote you would expect some type of rechargeable battery built in OR at least provide a set of batteries in the box.
You will also lose the ability to swipe and use gestures as the D-pad is only clickable. This is counter-intuitive to tvOS.
This remote also costs the same as the OEM Apple TV Remote, which has a higher build quality, a rechargeable battery and gives you swiping/gesture control.
The ONE FOR ALL remote is a cheap replacement that I cannot recommend.
The only feature that is worth noting is the Backlit Buttons.

Good for someone with poor dexterity and eyesight

My impetus for getting this replacement remote for Apple TV is when my 86 year old mom had to stay with us during her 5 day power outage. We put her in our guest bedroom that has a nice wall mounted 4K TV and Apple TV connected. I thought she would be in hog heaven with that setup but I was mistaken because the OEM remote that comes with the Apple TV is very difficult for people with poor dexterity and / or shaky hands to operate, not to mention poor eyesight (since the OEM remote doesn't have backlit buttons).
Any time my mom needed to change something on the Apple TV (channel, volume, app) she had to call one of us to come and do it. That's whee this One For All remote comes in. Since you don't need to swipe and it operates with more traditional button pushing, it works great for an elderly person such as my mom.
However, while the remote pretty much has the same functions as the OEM remote, I think it's overpriced for what it is and what it does. Unless you have a specific use case scenario similar to mine, I would not recommend buying this over an OEM Apple remote.

I received this item thinking that my Apple remote was not working correctly and was looking for a replacement. Set up was easy enough as you just install 2 AAA batteries and hold it near your Apple TV box. Basic functions seem to work well but that was where the honeymoon was "over". For the longest time, I have had issues with my Apple TV and not just the recent generation that I have now, but the previous one as well. It seems to "forget" that it can control my volume as well as turn everything on and off (LG TV and a Denon Surround system). Sometimes it works, others times it does not so I can only comment on what I got to work as this is also listed as being able to control your TV as well, which it did not do for my LG TV. Browsing the manual was no help as it consisted of 2 pages or so. As far as controlling the Apple TV, it did what its primary function is with no issues. Lets get to some pros and cons
Pros:
- The keypad lights up which is a definate plus!
-The guide button does take me to the Spectrum TV app inside Apple TV (how it knows to pick that, I have no idea but it was neat)
Cons:
-Batteries. As I mentioned, this remote requires 2 AAA batteries. I guess that can be a pro and a con but for me, I would prefer a sealed unit with rechargeable batteries
- Having to use your own batteries, also makes this controller much larger then the official one. I would estimate about 1 1/2 times the size in general, and close to twice the width
-It is not a "snappy" as the official remote. There appeared to be a little latency between pressing a button and having it register. I am not sure if this is an issue with the remote or the Apple TV itself but the official remote does not have this.
-While it does feature a dedicated Siri button, I had issues with that as well. When I asked a basic question like" What is the current temperature", it struggled to pick up my words, and at times injected its own. "Current weather" turned into "Call weather" or " call call current weather" (I have zero idea where the word call came from as I sitting at my homepage with nothing playing and no background noises). Official remote works great
-While it does feature a ring you can press, it lacks the scrubbing functionality of the original Apple remote
For others it may work flawlessly with their setups, but for me, I just could not get it to. Given the price point is the same as the Apple one, I would just go with the official. If you need lights on your controller or have a habit of losing the Apple one because of its smaller size, then this might be right for you!

Not a good replacement AppleTV remote

I was really excited about this remote, I use my AppleTV most of the time but I also watch broadcast/over the air TV (antenna), so I have to use my TV remote to change channels. The website says this controls 3 devices, so I was under the impression I could turn on my TV and use the channel/Page up and down buttons on the remote for it. Boy was I wrong! More on that later.
It is extremely easy to pair the remote with the AppleTV – it pairs like a real AppleTV remote, which just requires you to push a button in front of it (like a few inches away) and you’re up and running! Of course, that’s IF you have 2 AAA batteries, which isn’t mentioned on the website, or on the box of the remote. It *is* in the included manual in small print, as step 2, which is frustrating, because 1) AppleTV remotes are rechargeable and 2) Not everyone has stock of batteries lying around!
The next incredibly frustrating thing is that you lose a main feature of the AppleTV remote – which is swiping! The center of the AppleTV remote is both a button and allows swiping up/down/left/right – which is useful when browsing menus or skipping ahead/rewinding, you don’t have to press a button. This replacement remote the center button is JUST a button (that requires more pressure than original remote), so if you’re going to be casually scrolling in the AppleTV menus, you’re going to be pressing buttons A LOT, and you know what happens when you spend 30+ mins pressing buttons? Your fingers
hurt! I tend to spend 30-90 mins adding stuff to the watch list (in AppleTV and in individual apps), so if you have sensitive fingers, this is NOT for you.
Now let’s get to *3 device support*
Does it also control your TV and sound(bar)? Yes, but not because the controller is paired to them, but because the AppleTV is controlling it. If you’re using the AppleTV, the OneForAll will control the volume, but if you turned on your TV and put it on an OTA station, you cannot use the channel/page up or down buttons, nor will the volume work – because the AppleTV isn’t on to control it! I was hoping to use my TV independently, but I’ll still need to use the TV remote and not the OneForAll. If you wanted a universal to remote to control the functions of the TV / Soundbar without the AppleTV being used – this remote is NOT for you. They should disclose that the remote will only turn the TV on and off, and volume up/down/mute ONLY when using AppleTV, because currently it seems to imply it can control TV
independently, which is not the case.
Finally, let’s talk about the value. It appears that the price of the remote is the same price as the AppleTV remote – but as I’ve already described, you lose crucial features and require batteries that are not included! Why would you spend the same amount of money to lose features instead of gaining any? There is only 1 feature you gain on this remote – the backlit buttons. I’ll admit that’s the only nice thing about this remote, but definitely not worth replacing my current remote, because I don’t want to keep buying batteries or hurting my fingers using it.
Pros:
Immediately pairs to AppleTV
Controls TV/Soundbar as long as the AppleTV is on and in use
Cons:
Buttons are harder to press which will cause fatigue faster
The center button isn’t a swipe button and you’ll need to push buttons constantly
Priced the same as original with less features
Remote larger than original, I assume to accommodate the wasteful batteries

won't pair...won't do anything... followed instructions...checked batteries with another remote and they are good. WISH Best Buy had the REAL remote I could have purchased. I'll just check this, and the time it takes to drive back and return this worthless 60.00 remote back, up to experience...
