Im sorry to hear you feel there is not much advantage over the original remote. The main purpose of this remote is to act as a replacement with tv functionality. This way you only have to use one remote.

Replacement for Roku Remote

We have two Roku TVs both remotes broken found this universal remote at Best Buy. It worked for both TVs and was easy to program. Was super! Read the box first it does mention something about not working on Roku stick and another Roku device. Again did work on a Tcl Roku Tv and a Sanyo Roku Tv. Way cheaper than buying an actual Roku replacement Remote from the website

The description seemed to indicate that it should be. It was very disappointing, but Best Buy made the return process very easy and quick

Did not pair

I apologize for the confusion but the remote was operating as intended on any non roku tv it will only operate power volume and input. It should work with the sound bar without more information its hard to say why it was not. not for insignia

I have an insignia roku tv that I've tried to pair with it. I'm not having much luck. Even though the brand isn't on this list roku is, maybe that is my problem. I will likely return.

I'm sorry to hear you having issues connecting to an insignia Roku tv as it should work however you may not have the correct code as it was not on the first revision manual.
1. Hold down STB POWER and HOME until the red LED blinks twice
2. Press the REPLAY key 5 times
3. The LED will blink green twice and the remote should now work your Roku TV.
then you would have to program the tv side to the roku code as well which is 43321
