  • Streamer remote doesn't work for smart TVs

    I assumed streaming remote included smart TV, it doesn't. the IR learning feature to force it to use TV IR codes requires several button presses to acknowledge the code after several attempts at learning the IR code. Probably works fine if you are streaming device only. If you want to use your smart TV, look elsewhere

    I bought this remote to because I needed a new Nvidia Shield (newest model)remote - because my dog ate it. On the box it states "Works all streaming devices like Nvidia...." Well it does NOT. Too bad cause this is a good solid remote and paired easily with my Sony tv.

      I do apologize for the confusion that is correct the remote does not work with the latest nvidia sheild as it does not have Ir support and our remotes are IR only this is a limitation we are working to over come but have nothing for at this time.

    Bought this to give a backlit device to my family for roku. Try as I might I could never get volume up/down to work. Talked to tech support and they had me try a bunch of things, and nothing would work. Without volume control I have to keep two remotes around, and that's not what I wanted.

      I'm sorry to hear you were not able to use volume on our remote. our remote should be able to control the volume on most sound bars and tv's we would be happy to take a look at it again and see if there is anything we can do. worse case if you have the original remote you should be able to learn from it.

    Wanting to downsize some of my remotes, I brought this one. I went through all of the steps to program it, and all the remote did was turn the tv on/off. It did not control my volume or any other functions. I have a TCL Roku tv.

      Im sorry to hear that your having issues setting up the streamer. It should be compatible with your TCl Roku tv however it does require two codes to be put in the roku tv code and a separate streaming code The streaming code is red power and home until the red light blinks twice then enter home five times. Last in regard to the volume you likely have a sound bar programed the only way around this is to soft reset the remote to default you can do this by holding down tv power and back until the light blinks yellow twice then entering star replay home it should then blink red four times.     this item doesnt work with all tvs as stated on the box. i bought it as a replacement to my smart tv and all the remote would do is turn my tv on and off and mute or unmute my volume. I returned it for a full refund to the store and went elsewhere and bought one that would work

      i'm sorry for the confusion but the remote does work for all tv's with the intended commands of power, volume, and input. The remote is not meant to be a tv remote it is for use with streaming devices such as Roku with extra tv functionality.

      Unfortunately I can confirm the remote does not work with fire tv as fire tv uses RF signals and our remote can only use IR.

    This was returned because I was never able to get it to function with the Nvidia Shield and other devices as advertised. Extremely disappointed with the product but Best Buy was no hassles.

      I'm sorry to hear you were unable to get the remote working for your set up. Unfortunate the remote is only able to support IR devices. The last two generations of NVIDIA shield do not have an IR sensor thus making them incompatible. However their first gen NVIDIA shield did have one witch is why it was included on the box, as when this remote originally was released that was the newest shield .
