Worth it for LG flat screen use

Terrible

The only button that works is the power button. The instructions are extremely complicated. Our Samsung Smart Tv is not so smart lol

On a Samsung tv the only commands that will work are power volume and input. This remote is primarily meant to be used with streaming devises such as roku. If only your power button works its likely that you have a soundbar programmed.

Great Remote

I'm sorry to hear you have not used the remote, Our remote is designed to help by combing a Streamer remote such as Roku with tv functionality so that you would not have to switch remotes. In regards to its necessity that's something that you would have to decide based on your own use case and needs.

Simple remote.

I'm sorry to hear the remote did not work for your use case. The Streamer is designed to make it simple and easy to combine three devices as one a tv, sound bar, and streamer. It should work for most if not all IR based devices depending on what you were trying to use it with. If you were looking for a remote closer to a Logitech harmony I would have to recommended our 7880 smart control 8 as it is far more flexible and will work with more types of devices for ex bluray players.

Nice Idea, but better suited for a simpler devices

I guessed several LG-related settings, but never could get it to fully navigate LG's WebOS Interface. The only connection behind my TV is the power cable, it is running it's internal WiFi 6 and streaming via it's internal apps - so functionality within WebOS was crucial. Another complaint is that I thought all of the buttons were backlit, but they weren't 100%, so it didn't buy me anything regarding use in the dark. I returned it a couple hours later and just got used to the standard LG remote.
