I bought the Nord N30 5G at its sale price ($149.99 with carrier activation) to replace my aging OnePlus 5T, so the Nord is not my first OP device. Here are my impressions from a few weeks of daily use with the Nord on OxygenOS 13.1.
Good
- Good battery life that easily lasts me (light-medium use) a full day, if not longer.
- High-refresh display makes navigation and apps feel snappy.
- General performance feels similar to my previous device and its Snapdragon 835 chipset.
- Good 5G performance in areas where 4G and LTE on my previous phone did not do well.
Not good
- Fingerprint reader placement and performance. The reader is located on power button, is prone to accidental presses, and is not particularly forgiving of sub-optimal presses when I try to unlock the phone.
- Unintuitive "Close all" button in recent apps list. It seems "Close all" does not close your most recent app, and it does not close apps that are locked in Recent tasks manager. Not sure why "Close all" would not close all apps.
- Accidental screen-off gestures and lack of configuration options. There are two main screen-off gestures: draw V to turn on flashlight, and draw O to turn on camera. I accidentally turn on the flashlight multiple times a day by simply picking up the phone, and the phone does not let you choose a different shape for the flashlight (for example, O) to mitigate this. I will probably disable this gesture.
- The screen and body smudge incredibly easily. I avoided body smudges by getting a case, which I would have done anyway because the back camera protrudes.
- Default screen protector feels cheap and sometimes causes semi-sluggish responses to touches.
Features I miss from the 5T
- 1080p @ 60fps video recording.
- AMOLED display.
- Better haptics.
- More configuration options for screen-off gestures.
In conclusion, the Nord is a sidegrade from the 5T with some improvements, tradeoffs, and troubles, but it brings a lot of value at the discounted price. Those swapping to the Nord from a different OnePlus device might miss certain features.

Camera:
In terms of the camera setup, the Nord 30 features a versatile quad-camera system with a macro lens along with 2 more lenses. The camera setup delivers impressive results, capturing detailed photos with good color reproduction. The Nightscape mode enhances low-light photography, producing well-exposed shots in challenging lighting conditions. I was able to get this phone for just over a $100 withtge activate today discount and some rewards saved. My Samsung had fallen and cracked the week before. I have had so many issues with Samsung as a business the last 2 years, so I wanted to spend my money elsewhere. This phone is packed for $299 so I felt like I had been blessed to get one of the first ones at the price I did. One plus has so many models it can be difficult to evaluate something before hand, but I have wanted a one plus since the first one, so I bought this great phone. It is a very large phone and very attractive. 108 megapixal camera is great, there is not a wireless charging feature, but the fast charge, brick and red cable included, are very fast. The UI is very easy and had features I had not used before. It comes unlocked and the bootloader is unlockable with OEM switch in developers options. Screen is great for the price range. I do suggest ordering a case, because the phone does collect fingerprints. One plus has one for under $20 that is great, but can make the side mounted finger print reader a little harder to use. I love this phone as an extra, backup, or just one to tinker with. I have to have a stylus for my phone, so I ended up with a new Samsung as well, but the one plus still gets used daily.

The 128GB storage is a playground for apps, photos, and more, while the sleek Chromatic Gray finish feels as premium as it looks. Its snappy performance and reliable battery life make it a trusted companion for daily adventures. For an unlocked phone, it delivers flagship vibes at a mid-range price—a true win for savvy shoppers!

I like this phone very much. It charges very rapidly. It has lots of storage space on it. Although you can add an SD card, there is so much storage on it that I haven't yet needed it. The battery lasts a long time too, It takes good photos too. I would recommend getting a case for it that can make the camera lenses recede so they don't get scratched or broken if you drop the phone or order one like I did that has a cover over the lens that you can slide over when you want to take a photo.

The OnePlus N30 is an impressive budget-friendly smartphone that doesn’t compromise on performance. While it lacks some high-end features, like advanced 5G support, it offers exceptional value for its price. Ideal for users seeking a solid, affordable smartphone experience.

The camera setup on the OnePlus N30 5G is surprisingly versatile. The main 64MP sensor captures crisp and vibrant images, while the ultra-wide lens allows for breathtaking landscape shots and group photos. The depth sensor ensures fantastic portrait shots with pleasing bokeh effects. Additionally, the 32MP front camera captures stunning selfies, making every moment share-worthy.
The battery life is commendable, easily lasting me through a full day of heavy usage. When it’s time to recharge, the Warp Charge technology quickly powers up the phone, saving valuable time.
The design of the OnePlus N30 5G is sleek and elegant, providing a comfortable grip and a premium feel. The build quality is top-notch, and the inclusion of a headphone jack is a welcome addition for audiophiles.
Lastly, the inclusion of 5G technology at such an affordable price point makes the OnePlus N30 5G a real standout in the market.
In conclusion, the OnePlus N30 5G is a powerhouse of a phone, offering blazing 5G speeds, outstanding camera capabilities, and an overall smooth and enjoyable user experience. If you’re looking for a feature-rich smartphone without breaking the bank, the OnePlus N30 5G is an excellent choice.

It's a real sleeper of Android phones for the price. 5g 128mb expandable to 1 TB. Smooth fast snapdragon 695 processor. 6.49 inch that feels good in the hand. I do recommend to get a case due to the smooth finish on the back showing fingerprints. Decent camera for nice photos and videos. For the price, it offers much of all the android features you would need for a great phone. Comes with a pre-installed screen protector right out of the box. It has a 50w charger that is the fastest charger in the market. 0 to 100% in 30 min. I was glad to have purchased the Nord N30 due to all the postive reviews on BB and YouTube.

I have the OnePlus 12R and was wanting to get my mom in the OnePlus eco system because I love their products. She absolutely loves this phone. The OnePlus Nord N30 5G is grest from what I have seen and she has told me. She tends to play lots of games on it and says the battery does great and it is snappy and quick.

I could not be happier, great camera. Includes a 50w charger and type-c cable. Oh and did I mention how fast it charges and how long it lasts between charges with my use I have gotten 2+ day and it only went down to 19%. Snappy performance. Audio is crisp and loud music sounds very good. Call quality and signal strength and much better with this phone. Then my moto g stylus I upgraded from.

I bought this phone because it was half the price of replacing the screen on my expensive S23 ultra. I am surprised by how much I like it. It is easy to use, lightweight, and has pretty much everything the expensive phone has. The camera is not as fancy, but certainly adequate for most needs. I'm taking away a star for that reason. If you don't care about the camera, it is probably 5 stars. No issues moving data over at all. Good phone. I charged phone 24 hours ago and it is still at 50%.

I have tried 3 different Motorola Moto g power 5G phones each one of them having performance issues along with getting very hot.
This oneplus N30 so far has zero issues.
The performance is very good almost no lag, display is bright and colorful, the camera is not top notch but it does very well,, the battery lasts a long time also has quick charging. I think for the price you can't go wrong with this phone.
I would definitely recommend this phone over the Motorola.

Good battery, expandable ram so u can use your extra memory as extra ram so your phone doesn't get super slow when u have a bunch of tabs open. The one downer is the selfie camera is not good. But the forward facing camera makes up for that. For the price this phone is an easy 5 star. Mind do this isnt a 1,000 dollar phone. It's a 300 dollar phone and for the price this thing is a absolute home run. Oh and it charges from dead to full in less than an hour

Easily the best budget Android phone for 2023

To start off with, this phone has a $300 MSRP when released a month ago. That being said, I purchased it through Best Buy for $200 in late June 2023. Currently it's on sale for $150.
Let me be clear: for $200 or less, this is hands down the best modern Android phone you can buy. This phone is significantly cheaper than trying to replace whatever phone you're seeking to. And it's got most of the bells and whistles you'd expect. In my case, those are microSD expansion, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and 3 years of guaranteed updates. While not the most powerful phone on the market, I've yet to find a program it didn't run better than my 2 year old Galaxy A52. The update policy isn't the best in biz (3 years from release), but at this price point it's hard to argue (I figure once it's reached the end of it's update cycle I'll turn it into something resembling a Raspberry Pi). The battery life is what I'd consider a 2-day battery (assuming you're not using it 10+ hours per day) but will certainly last a full day even with heavy usage. This phone also includes in the box a 50 watt charger which, as advertised, actually does charge the device from dead to 80% in 30 min. I was genuinely astonished, and the phone doesn't even get hot while doing so.
My only complaint (compared to the Galaxy A52 5G it replaced which crapped out after only two years) is that the screen is not quite as nice. The LCD on the Nord seems washed-out compared to the Galaxy, but given the Galaxy was 3x the price, this can be easily overlooked. And while not really a complaint, one of the areas OnePlus was able to reduce cost was on the camera. Don't expect the same quality of photographs as you'd get from a $1000+ phone, but they're still better than what you would get just a couple of years ago.
Seriously, if you're an Android user who values expandable storage and a headphone jack, this is the phone for you. At less than $200 and with Best Buy's 15-day return policy you've got nothing to lose. This is my first time ever taking a shot on a true budget Android phone from someone other than Samsung or HTC and I've got no regrets whatsoever.

Works amazingly. A great mid range phone that feels high grade. Great battery life and processor power for those who don't use many apps at a time. Only gripe I have is the UI isn't as flexible as I'd like it to be. Position of certain features and button layouts are VERY limited. Might be a case with the OxygenOS. Other than that, amazing phone.
