Good value when on sale
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Nord N30 5G at its sale price ($149.99 with carrier activation) to replace my aging OnePlus 5T, so the Nord is not my first OP device. Here are my impressions from a few weeks of daily use with the Nord on OxygenOS 13.1. Good - Good battery life that easily lasts me (light-medium use) a full day, if not longer. - High-refresh display makes navigation and apps feel snappy. - General performance feels similar to my previous device and its Snapdragon 835 chipset. - Good 5G performance in areas where 4G and LTE on my previous phone did not do well. Not good - Fingerprint reader placement and performance. The reader is located on power button, is prone to accidental presses, and is not particularly forgiving of sub-optimal presses when I try to unlock the phone. - Unintuitive "Close all" button in recent apps list. It seems "Close all" does not close your most recent app, and it does not close apps that are locked in Recent tasks manager. Not sure why "Close all" would not close all apps. - Accidental screen-off gestures and lack of configuration options. There are two main screen-off gestures: draw V to turn on flashlight, and draw O to turn on camera. I accidentally turn on the flashlight multiple times a day by simply picking up the phone, and the phone does not let you choose a different shape for the flashlight (for example, O) to mitigate this. I will probably disable this gesture. - The screen and body smudge incredibly easily. I avoided body smudges by getting a case, which I would have done anyway because the back camera protrudes. - Default screen protector feels cheap and sometimes causes semi-sluggish responses to touches. Features I miss from the 5T - 1080p @ 60fps video recording. - AMOLED display. - Better haptics. - More configuration options for screen-off gestures. In conclusion, the Nord is a sidegrade from the 5T with some improvements, tradeoffs, and troubles, but it brings a lot of value at the discounted price. Those swapping to the Nord from a different OnePlus device might miss certain features.

Easily the best budget Android phone for 2023
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start off with, this phone has a $300 MSRP when released a month ago. That being said, I purchased it through Best Buy for $200 in late June 2023. Currently it's on sale for $150. Let me be clear: for $200 or less, this is hands down the best modern Android phone you can buy. This phone is significantly cheaper than trying to replace whatever phone you're seeking to. And it's got most of the bells and whistles you'd expect. In my case, those are microSD expansion, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and 3 years of guaranteed updates. While not the most powerful phone on the market, I've yet to find a program it didn't run better than my 2 year old Galaxy A52. The update policy isn't the best in biz (3 years from release), but at this price point it's hard to argue (I figure once it's reached the end of it's update cycle I'll turn it into something resembling a Raspberry Pi). The battery life is what I'd consider a 2-day battery (assuming you're not using it 10+ hours per day) but will certainly last a full day even with heavy usage. This phone also includes in the box a 50 watt charger which, as advertised, actually does charge the device from dead to 80% in 30 min. I was genuinely astonished, and the phone doesn't even get hot while doing so. My only complaint (compared to the Galaxy A52 5G it replaced which crapped out after only two years) is that the screen is not quite as nice. The LCD on the Nord seems washed-out compared to the Galaxy, but given the Galaxy was 3x the price, this can be easily overlooked. And while not really a complaint, one of the areas OnePlus was able to reduce cost was on the camera. Don't expect the same quality of photographs as you'd get from a $1000+ phone, but they're still better than what you would get just a couple of years ago. Seriously, if you're an Android user who values expandable storage and a headphone jack, this is the phone for you. At less than $200 and with Best Buy's 15-day return policy you've got nothing to lose. This is my first time ever taking a shot on a true budget Android phone from someone other than Samsung or HTC and I've got no regrets whatsoever.

Best Value for the dollar
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to get this phone for just over a $100 withtge activate today discount and some rewards saved. My Samsung had fallen and cracked the week before. I have had so many issues with Samsung as a business the last 2 years, so I wanted to spend my money elsewhere. This phone is packed for $299 so I felt like I had been blessed to get one of the first ones at the price I did. One plus has so many models it can be difficult to evaluate something before hand, but I have wanted a one plus since the first one, so I bought this great phone. It is a very large phone and very attractive. 108 megapixal camera is great, there is not a wireless charging feature, but the fast charge, brick and red cable included, are very fast. The UI is very easy and had features I had not used before. It comes unlocked and the bootloader is unlockable with OEM switch in developers options. Screen is great for the price range. I do suggest ordering a case, because the phone does collect fingerprints. One plus has one for under $20 that is great, but can make the side mounted finger print reader a little harder to use. I love this phone as an extra, backup, or just one to tinker with. I have to have a stylus for my phone, so I ended up with a new Samsung as well, but the one plus still gets used daily.

Exactly what I was looking for
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Security updates for 3 years and 1 OS upgrade - fine as most phones need to get replaced after 3 anyways 8GB RAM with expandable RAM based on how much storage space is available - a genius move for people who don't use much storage in the first place. 108 MP camera - OK, does excellent in good lighting yet struggles in darker settings. The support over time should improve camera qualities. If looking for a camera at a similar price, the A54 or Pixel 6a are better Battery - great usage out of the box. One hour phone call along with installing apps for another 1.5 hours only brought the battery down 13 percent. This is a full day and a half battery. Charging - the reason I bought this phone. For this price range, you will not find better and more secure charging. 20-30 mins and you are set Snapdragon 695 5G - mid-range master. Power consumption is stable and a proven processor. Does not get hot while doing basic tasks which plagues higher-generation Snapdragon processors like the 8 gen 1. Great for everything except for top-tier gaming though what is to be expected at a sub-300 dollar phone? 128GB storage - I don't think I'll be able to fill this phone up but if I did, then expandable storage by microSD card is available. Overall, extraordinarily promising IF you are okay with having an only OK camera but I am 100% happy trading camera quality for fast charging/full day+ battery and proven processors with expandable RAM and Storage.

Great phone at a great price
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this phone very much. It charges very rapidly. It has lots of storage space on it. Although you can add an SD card, there is so much storage on it that I haven't yet needed it. The battery lasts a long time too, It takes good photos too. I would recommend getting a case for it that can make the camera lenses recede so they don't get scratched or broken if you drop the phone or order one like I did that has a cover over the lens that you can slide over when you want to take a photo.

A great budget phone for everyday use
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic phone from OnePlus. For the price, it is unbeatable in my opinion. Its a great budget phone, with excellent camera for both Video and Pictures. Video resolution is restricted to HD and not 4K, which in my opinion is not a deal breaker for me. The photos come out excellent with the 108 MP sensor. The OS is pretty clean and easy to use; as good as pure android. The battery lasts for close to 2 days with decent usage, and can be recharged with the provided charger in just over an hour.

Great Phone
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a, relatively, inexpensive phone that had all the capabilities of my previous phone and hopefully, some improvements. This phone fits the bill perfectly. It is easy to use, takes great photos, it is clean and loud and has perfect battery life for my use. I am already extremely happy with my purchase and I'm sure there are aspects of this phone I have yet to discover.

Everyday Phone for casual low end activities.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gaming Performance: "I enjoy gaming on this phone, but it's crucial to expand the RAM to 8GB in the settings. The default 4GB significantly limits performance. Don't expect consistently high frame rates. Diablo Immortal, for instance, is capped at 30fps even on medium to high settings. Honor of Kings can reach 120fps, but occasional frame drops occur, requiring adjustments to graphical settings. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile performs poorly, often resulting in stuttering and low-resolution gameplay. While the screen supports 120Hz, this doesn't guarantee smooth performance in all games. Optimizing settings, enabling gaming mode, and disabling background processes can improve performance, but this phone's hardware is closer to an entry-level than a mid-range gaming device. It's not a 12-16gb ram with a high end gaming chip. General Usage and Features: "The phone offers a range of useful features, including NFC and easy file sharing. It handles everyday tasks like streaming video on Prime Video smoothly. The large screen is nice for media consumption. Battery Life: "Battery life is good, but enabling 120Hz, high-performance mode, and game boosters will drain it quickly. Remember to disable these features when not needed. The fast charging is a definite plus." Camera: "The camera performance is typical of many Android phones in this price range. Expect noticeable improvements only with higher-end flagship models. Interestingly, the front camera often produces better results than the rear camera. You can push the picture quality in the settings." Value and Considerations: "Be aware that this phone depreciates rapidly. Its resale value is significantly lower than its initial purchase price. You may find other OnePlus models with superior specifications for a similar price."

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far rhe pgone wirks great. I got this for my brother to replace his N200 5g. Pictures seem better, of course the n200's camera pretty much sucks without the right lighting. Battery lasts long, and it chargers very fast. Speaker phone works very good. For a budget phone 5g you can't go wrong.

Great battery, decent performance, terrible camera
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent battery life, Clear display even in sunlight. Decent performance, and the ultra fast charger is FAST. Like, plug the phone in, take a shower and expect about a full days battery fast. Headphone jack and SD Card slot is a HUGE win for a new phone. Software is a little buggy, phone stutters on occasion to catch up w heavy social media + spotify use. Camera is nothing short of GARBAGE, but all in all I cant imagine asking for much more at the price point. If you want great value w a great camera, get a Pixel. If you want to trade camera for battery life + SD slot + Headphone jack, get the Nord.

Perfect Value for Money - High End Smart Phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is 2nd Fan Edition series that I am buying (Previously had S20 FE). While it was still functional, i could see performance degradation and Battery Drain around 300. So, for Thanks giving 2023, i went in for S23 FE. Right from Quality of finish to Screen Size, its a far better product. Iphone sort of finish & Samsung Camera makes it a deadly combination. As someone who slips / drop the phone after charging or so inside home, phone has already survived drop in wooden floor (20$ original Samsung case is real good investment). Phone looks neat. While this is said to have night time photography, i am yet to try out. At 400$ price tag during sale, this is a no brainer to buy. It will easily last you 2 to 3 years (based on last experience on Galaxy Fan Edition)
