    OnePlus needs a better OS

OnePlus OS is rather boring. You can buy other OS skins but some may not work well when switching from the main screen to the folded screen. If the rumors are true about Samsung going with a bigger folded screen then I'll probably be getting that later this year.

Coming from a Z Fold 5, they nailed this!

I had a Z Fold 4 that I traded in for a Z Fold 5, but was disappointed with the nearly zero improvements made on the 5. Camera was still trash and had poor zoom. The Open however has an amazing camera with 6x zoom. It also takes extremely beautiful and detailed photos. Bsttery life has been easily lasting me a day and charging speed is so fast at 67w. The display also blows the Fold 5's out of thr water with a super minimal crease — its both extremely hard to see and feel. Seriously makes the Fold 5's crease look like a cliff by comparison. The outer display is the perfect aspect ratio as well. So, so much better than the narrow Z Fold display. OnePlus has outdone thenselves with the Open. By far my favorite phone in 2023. Makes the 15 Pro Max, which I also have, feel so basic by comparison... And it's the same price for a 512GB 15 Pro Max! OnePlus gives way more value for the money.

The price was the lowest at $1,099 for a unlocked phone with activation through one of 3 carriers. The phone arrived earlier than expected, sadly it arrived in a simple bubble envelope. Upon opening the envelope I noticed the sealed red box had many bruises like it had been banged or simply was not packaged properly. I was not going to take a chance by opening a $1,200 (with tax) phone which visually did not meet my standard. Long story short I returned it with the seal intact to Best Buy store for a refund. It was a waist of my time.

The phone is amazing you will absolutely love it that is why the 1 star is not for the phone If I could give zero stars I would, the bad review is for BestBuy their geek squad protection plan is absolutely WORTHLESS, I hope that anyone who purchases this phone from BestBuy also buys a protection plan from OnePlus directly or else you're in deep trouble if anything happens to your phone because BestBuy will do nothing to help you, the best part the phone has a manufacturing defect, best buys best response contact the manufacturer, funny story OnePlus will not honor their warranty on a device sold by a third party and you guessed it BestBuy is a third party to them, I've called and been told to make an appointment and go to the store for repair, one hand really does not talk to the other at bestbuy because all oneplus phones are only repairable by ONEPLUS, the store will only offer store credit great right? Except for the fact that no stores on the planet actually stock the device so that's out the window unless you want to turn your phone in on the spot and then order it online and wait, I don't know about anyone else but going without a phone for up to a week really isn't realistic these days. It's unfortunate that BestBuy is one of the largest tech companies that has physical stores because they are also the Worst! Unless you wish to have similar problems stay far away very far away.

Have a hardware issue, Best Buy can't replace it because availability and won't refund full trade in value and cost. Oneplus won't replace it because I bought it third party. It's messed up that no one will fix the issue because I bought it here.

I read some bad reviews about one plus customer service so I figured I'd buy it through best buy so they would make things right if I experienced a problem with the phone. Less than a month and a half after my purchase I swiped the phone and my finger nail scratched the internal screen protector. I reached out to best buy and they told me, "there was no warranty." I reached out to One Plus and they said they won't help me because I bought it through a third party retailer. Do yourself a favor and avoid the nightmare of buying this phone. If something happens to this apparently very fragile phone you're completely on your own.

    Worst foldable phone ever

Worst phone. I have used galaxy 3 and 4 fold over last 4 years. One plus doesnt stand a chance to be called as a good phone. Multiple issues: 1. When I call other phone, it doesnt ring. Its EXTREMELY frustrating. 2. There is NO way to see multiple tabs on the screen 3. The charging is very slow. This retarted phone has no concept of fast charging. 4. To go "back", you have to slide left from middle right edge of screen. It has led to deleting of multiple emails and messages (as messages and emails get deleted when you slide the screen). Many more issues.

Best foldable on the market, bar none!

This is not only the best foldable on our market, but it's the best phone I've ever owned, period! Everything about the OnePlus Open is excellent. What a top-notch, quality phone! Performance: OnePlus' skin over Android is fantastic. It's smooth, fast and the performance is excellent. There are enough "bells and whistles" to keep you happy, interested and entertained (but not too many like Samsung). The Open has been super reliable, as well. I'm thoroughly impressed! Displays: Both displays on the Open are fantastic! They're bright, beautiful, smooth, responsive, colorful (but not too much like Samsung), and they're a pleasure to view and use. The two main reasons I was drawn to the Open over my Samsung Fold were: 1) the cover display is the size of a regular smartphone and let's you use it as - wait for it- a regular smartphone without the awkwardness of having it the screen be too narrow (like Samsung's); and 2) the crease of the main display when unfolded is barely noticeable (very much unlike the Samsung). What a remarkable engineering feat! Cameras: IMO, these are the best cameras I have ever used on a smartphone! I love photography and camera quality is super important to me. OnePlus NAILED it with this camera system - especially with the telephoto lens. I own a Canon Point-and-Shoot camera that I carry around with me should my phone not be up to snuff for my photography needs. I no longer have to do this with my OnePlus Open and I have permanently put my point and shoot camera away. The Open's camera is literally better than my point-and-shoot! You won't be disappointed with these cameras, either! (Don't expect the over-processed look of Samsung phones, though. But, if you like that style, then you can always edit the photos to make em look all digital, saturated and fake.) Sound/speakers: The Open has 3 speakers - not just two. It's not the loudest phone out there, however, the sound that comes out of it is high-quality. It doesn't produce that tinny, annoying, smartphone speaker sound that irritates you, especially if it's at a too-high volume setting. The sound is pretty nuanced, actually, with a good balance. Also, the speakerphone is sufficiently loud and clear. Connection: the connection with WiFi and Data networks is supremely reliable and strong. Bluetooth connection is super fast and stable as well. Quality/Construction/Reliability: The level of quality of the OnePlus Open is high and impressive! This phone feels sturdy and made to a high standard. It doesn't flex, feels solid and doesn't have any disconcerting creaks and sounds like my old Samsung Fold had. This is a premium phone - make no mistake about that! Another thing I really love on this phone is its haptic feedback. Small thing, but it is on-point! Also, it has been the most reliable phone I've ever had, so far. This is my first OnePlus and to say I am thoroughly impressed would be a gross understatement! (Pay no attention to "professional reviewers" who only push and promote Apple products, like The Verge. 3 stars? Please. This phone deserves a full 5 stars and is better than any iPhone I've ever used. The Verge blindly gives anything Apple makes 4.5 stars and above. Pay to Play, anyone?)
