    The 830Z runs as expected. I have the unit configured for 7.1, with no Atmos high channels. I'm running the 830Z unit with all channels. With surround speakers you may only notice them during the action scene. Otherwise most of the sound is directed to my center channel. The system works and can be control through the phone app. I'm still upgrading the system so, I may not have it optimized for my taste.

    This receiver was quite the step up from my NR-555. I needed more 2.2 HDMI ports than the 3 it had. Also was able to upgrade my Atmos from 5.1.2 to 5.2.4! What a difference it has made. The step up and tweaking of the speakers are quite different from the nr-555. Still making tweaks. But the clarity in all the speakers is quite a difference maker.

    The difference from my older Onkyo receiver is notable--it seems to have better sound location and definition, and seems more responsive. It has numerous functions I'll never need, but you might.

    Got this with all my points. Glad I got it. Replaced an almost new Denon, which I sold. The Atmos sounds amazing.
