Great sound and very easy setup, I ran my satellite box, xbox, dvr and chromecast thru the receiver and sounds great.

For the price and the quality, you cant beat it! I use this with my bose surround sound speakers. So nice!

I've purchased Sony for over 25 years. It wasn't until recently had an issue with the receiver not playing all of my speakers. Read some reviews and they too said they had the same problem. So I decided to try Onkyo. So far it hasn't disappointed and my surround sound sounds great! Don't get me wrong,Sony still has a very good product ,my TV still shows great and it's 10 years old.(knock on Wood!..lol.)

Our old system stopped working. This was a great value. Crisp sound, easy to set up and use. Love it.

I had a pioneer for 7 years which could have been a twin to this Onyko unit - difference being, the same in common features work easily on the Onyko, while they were a royal pain with the Pioneer. Very straightforward operation. I have a philosophy: New tech should ALWAYS be - easier to use tech!!! I still do not grasp these "deep echo" modes. Who likes to listen to those options?

We are very pleased with the sound quality of this unit. Given that our other equipment is rather old, we were pleased too that the unit has nice backward compatibility, including working with our VCR unit. We thought our speakers needed to be replaced, but it turns out that our old receiver was worse than we knew, speakers sound great again!

Overall, this is one of the least expensive 4K receivers that enables HDR pass-through. With that being said, it's a bit underpowered, but should suffice for most rooms. The on-screen interface is old and not very intuitive, and there aren't many tweaks or adjustment settings. I'd have preferred to get something from Yamaha but the cost would've been 2-3x as much if I wanted HDR support.

I wanted a good receiver to run my older Bose accoustomas 6 speakers with a new smart TV. Pretty easy setup after playing around wiht the connections and TV settings. The sound is great. The price is very reasonable and the volume etc works though the glass cabinet doors of my TV stand. Plan to add a powered sub and was told I can to boost the bass but actually sounds pretty good as is. The microphone setup for analyzing the sound works well too.

I wasn't happy at first with the sound but then got into the menu and starting trying all the different options and wow! this things is amazing. The picture quality on my TV is also improved (it's not a 4k tv). Overall it is a great sounding system and perfect for my small living room. I like that you can use different surround modes or all 5 channels for music.
