Updated my older Onkyo receiver & am pleased to see the heating excess greatly improved. Also, the HDMI connection eliminated several wires!

This receiver doesn't have a way to hook up to my t.v. my TV doesn't have hdmi so I have to use rca out. This set doesn't have a audio left and right for the cable,so I can hear sound from my speakers. My TV has no way to hook up an optical cable, which is what the instructions call for.i like every thing else about it.

This receiver has good sound for 5 channel -- plenty of power. The 4k support is only okay. For example, my 4k Apple TV does not pass-through well on the receiver, so I am using HDMI ARC between TV & Receiver. It works great without breaking the bank.

Issues out of the box with HDMI sync. Had it working then stopped with out reason and couldn't get it back. Bluetooth option worked with no issues. Returned it and went with a different brand.

Great product! Great price! Thanks. I have two much older receivers, but the tech is outdated and lacked HDMI and upgraded picture/sound capabilities. This one was great!

I just purchased this receiver in April 2017 and by September 2017 the volume/HDMI stopped working. The receiver wouldn't do anything you tell it to do, so I called to get it fixed. That's when I found out that I had to mail it to the shop nearest to me to have it fixed because I didn't buy the extra best buy warranty. What a pain. This is the second item I purchased in April that quit working. I also bought a dryer and it stopped drying. Don't they make anything that lasts more than 5 months anymore??

I bought this recently to replace a smoked unit. The local store did not have very many choices in stock of receivers and decided on this one. The price was reasonable and is a well known brand. The problems started when I hooked it up. The box only comes with quick start up instructions which are not very comprehensive and basically confusing. I had to Google search a more detailed manual which was like 32 pages long. The only way to get certain lights to stop flashing on the display was to hook it up to the TV via HDMI to offer a function that my TV will not allow. overall happy with the purchase

Run!!! Terrible Receiver & Worse Customer Service

Will not support HDR with 4:4:4 subsampling on any devices with multiple HDMI cords. Will not work with any vizio tvs and you can find multiple complaints of this on forums with a basic google search. Called customer service and they were rude and condescending. Their only solution is to try different hdmi cords but I told them I had already tried 3 different brands high speed 18gbps cords. They finally told me to return it and hung up on me. I purchased this to use the passthrough feature for my vizio m70. It's worthless and they're rude. I own 4 onkyo receivers but I'm returning this one and will never buy from them again.

Bad HDMI Port, Lousy Support Help

Our ONKYO ran for about 6 months, connected to an Epson projector via HDMI, then suddenly the Epson could not find the signal. I first spoke with an ONKYO customer support rep who convinced me my HDMI cable was no longer completing the handshake with the Epson. The cable is only 14 feet, so not a very long run, but following the rep's suggestion, I invested in a J-Tech transmitter and receiver to send the signal over ethernet with two short 3' HDMI cables on either end. Still no signal. So I went and bought a new television so that I could get it close enough to the ONKYO to connect with just a 3 foot HDMI cable. Still no signal. I just got off the line with "support," and they connected me with a service center in New York. @@@@@@@@ I live in Delaware and the rep was geographically challenged, as he first said the nearest repair center was in Illinois. @@@@@@@ I just got off the phone with assistance at this repair center, and it turns out I have to send the receiver in at my expense, then wait for two weeks or so for a repair. What a runaround! I have now heard that ONKYOs are notorious for bad HDMI ports, so if you value your time and want to avoid frustration and going without a receiver, by all means, BUY ANOTHER BRAND.
