Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the sound quality, ease of use, and Bluetooth capabilities of the TX 5.2-Ch. 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many also appreciate the receiver's price and the range of features it offers, including 4K support and ample inputs. While some found the size to be a bit large, and a few experienced issues with bass and volume, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs these concerns. The setup process was also generally praised for its simplicity.

Very happy with the receiver. I had a Kenwood before this and loved it I was upset when it died. Was a little nervous about buying this brand but so far am very happy with it. Only down side was I didn't realize it needs a powered subwoofer so had to get a new of those too.

At 155 watts per channel, this A/V Receiver has plenty of power for my big speakers. I'm thrilled with the clarity of the sound even at loud volume levels. This was certainly a great purchase at this price!

This was my first Onkyo receiver. It is replacing a nice Pioneer that just didn't provide ARC capability which I now need to have due to wiring limitations with a new smart TV I acquired. Since this receiver was not purchased for our main TV-watching area in the basement, this one was perfect for our budget and upstairs family room. It doesn't have A/B speaker configuration but we were able to deal with that. We utilize the 5.1 system this Onkyo provides for this small area and it provides plenty of power to fill up the house with sound. The subwoofer thumps as well. No complaints. Setup was easy, and I have heard nothing but good things about Onkyo in general. Lot of bang for the buck for this model if you don't need all the bells and whistles of a true theater surround system. Bluetooth connectivity is also available but distance was more limited than most other devices I have used. This receiver was limited to around 15' range until a brand new Samsung device started cutting out audio. That Samsung device had no issues in connecting to other BT speakers at least 40-ft away. Not a huge deal in our case but an observation. Great job, Onkyo.

If you are someone who doesn't use lots of features in an AV receiver, read no further and buy this product. It works well and seems to be reliable. If you like to adjust the equalization you'll find that this is a very limited device. You only have hi and low shelf EQ, therefore you can't shape the sound precisely. It does have a microphone to do auto set up, which will adjust the volume of your various speakers in the surround sound set up. That seems to work pretty well.

The HDMI inputs with 1 HDMI output makes connecting devices super simple. I found it sounds best running the devices into the HDMI inputs. Then I only have 1 cable going to my tv instead of 4 or 5. Easy to setup and configure. It lacks in-depth features that are found on more expensive units. But I don’t need all of that. It has Bluetooth as well. I only used it a few times. Otherwise I don’t use it. It does work well. Plenty of power for my Klipsch Reference towers.

Grabbed this item as an open/no box item...but knowing Onkyo as a quality Brand in stereo systems, I was confident I could find whatever was missing online. After getting the item home & adding it to my new TV...I was very happy with my choice. The user manual was online!! Very user friendly & even those who are new to setting up audio equipment should find it a breeze! The Sound is FANTASTIC!!!

I bought this for my adult son for his birthday. I chose this because this brand has performed very well in the past, and was a great value for the features it has. It doesn't have WI-FI, but I wasn't looking for that, nor was my son.

Generates excellent power for what we need, and has made a difference on how we watch movies or shows now. I just can't figure out how to get the word "digital" from blinking in front of the receiver screen when in use.?????

For the price of this item on sale ($228) at Best Buy I think it was a great deal. So far it has performed well, but I haven't quite had it one month yet. I'll see after months and years of use how well it holds up.

Very happy with this receiver! Very easy to set up and operate. The only thing I wish it had was a way to adjust levels of sound by each speaker and not just the whole surround sound. Otherwise it’s great.

Simple installation; rather complex manual sound adjustments available. But there is an interesting system for automatically setting up speaker balance using their "AccuEQ Room Calibration" - and it seemed to work well. The only problem we encountered was teaching our AT&T "universal remote" to control the Onkyo master volume. Solved, by getting an updated remote, with new Onkyo codes. Works fine now!

Like the fact that i can connect several components, from a blue ray player to my apple tv and only have 1 HDMI cable connect to my tv. I also enjoy the fact that the receiver is bluetooth compatible

needs an adapter for an FM antenna

I've always had good luck with Onkyo products. I bought this primarily to use as a stereo, and wanted to connect my FM antenna. Unfortunately, Onkyo chose to market this with a PAL connector on the units for the U.S. market, and FM antennas in the U.S. use 'F' connectors. Now I have to try to source an adapter to connect my antenna and Best Buy doesn't sell them, the local Radio Shack is closed, I'm in a rural area and need the outdoor antenna, and the sales rep at Best Buy didn't even know what I was talking about. So, does anyone know where I can buy a PAL male to an 'F' female adapter?
