Customers are saying

Customers commend the TX-NR6100 7.2 Channel THX Certified Network A/V Receiver for its outstanding sound quality, ease of use, and plentiful HDMI inputs. Many find the setup process quick and easy, and appreciate the high power and additional features offered at its price point. However, some customers have noted that the front display seems lacking and there is too much clicking between inputs.

I bought 2 TX-NR6100 AV Receivers and so far I couldn't be more pleased! I just had them installed by the Geek Squad so I can't speak to how they will perform long term but I fully expect that they will continue to perform as they do now! An excellent receiver that I highly recommend!

I initially bough this receiver and in most cases, I would have kept it (I ended up returning it for a more up-to-date receiver). The only reason why I took it back was the remote looks clucky based on the Denon remotes.

Great having a REAL stereo again, with the various components. Thanks to Best Buy for introducing me to this brand. Also appreciate the purchase option of Excellent Open Box to save a little cash when rebuilding a system.

I was excited that I was bringing this receiver home. My previous Denon receiver was turning itself off randomly. This one had similar features so I decided to give it a try. I had used Onkyo in the past and that one is still working to this day. However, after only a month this new receiver wouldn’t transmit video or audio. I troubleshooted for almost two hours checking everything, from cables to inputs to various settings. All to come to the realization that after one month of use it was no longer working. Made me run back to Denon. Maybe it was just my luck with the receivers but at least with Denon I had over two years use out of it.

The receiver works great. I wish I had used banana plugs to connect the speaker wires. They were very hard to install them.

The sales staff was very knowledgeable and professional with the explanation of the pros and cons of the product. I am very happy with the purchase of the stereo receiver and would highly recommend to all of my friends to shop at Best Buy.

Poor quality and died just outside of warranty.

HDMI output dies after 2 years and 2 months. The warranty is conveniently for 2 years only. This was a $600 receiver. When it was working it did a decent job, however, having inputs randomly switch on you when you didn't want that was very annoying. It has a lot of HDMI ports. Unfortunately, it is now completely useless since it won't output video on it's main eARC HDMI OUT port anymore. Avoid this model ... and possibly this brand for anything new. Onkyo used to make fairly decent equipment. I won't be buying another one though.

Great sound for the price I paid, Set up as a 5.2.2 I had to refine the speaker dB levels after the built in calibration ran but that's ok. Gets plenty lound for movies.

After a firmware update it has worked well. I really like that it has two zones for audio and two HDMI outputs that you can combine or separate what you want two displays to show. I wish HDMI inputs (like FireTV stick) could be played on both audio zones, but it still works if you use an analog input (i.e. RCA jacks). The built-in audio options (Spotify, etc) integrate nicely so you can play audio in both zones seamlessly. I like the Onkyo App to control everything too. The receiver has great power and features for the price! Would recommend.

Little pricey but overall very pleased. Needed to upgrade a unit that was getting old. This one supports my Xbox Series X HDR really well, streaming TV & movies look greats. Music streaming services work well although the app on phone can be a bit laggy.

The sales manager knew the answers to my questions. He understood my objectives for a high quality "man cave"/ sound studio. He agreed with my choice of high end speakers and their compatibility. I enjoyed the sales experience.

I haven't owned it long enough for a good review but so far the only complaint I have is matching up the Comcast remote to it.

Very happy with this unit. I was not that familiar with the Onkyo brand, but it had a couple of features I wanted that two other legacy brands didn’t, so I decided to give it a try. No regrets, highly recommend.

Digging it so far. But I have to say that I was disappointed in the "built in Chromecast", it's for audio only. What good is that?
