Great sound for the price I paid, Set up as a 5.2.2 I had to refine the speaker dB levels after the built in calibration ran but that's ok. Gets plenty lound for movies.

I haven't owned it long enough for a good review but so far the only complaint I have is matching up the Comcast remote to it.

After a firmware update it has worked well. I really like that it has two zones for audio and two HDMI outputs that you can combine or separate what you want two displays to show. I wish HDMI inputs (like FireTV stick) could be played on both audio zones, but it still works if you use an analog input (i.e. RCA jacks). The built-in audio options (Spotify, etc) integrate nicely so you can play audio in both zones seamlessly. I like the Onkyo App to control everything too. The receiver has great power and features for the price! Would recommend.

Digging it so far. But I have to say that I was disappointed in the "built in Chromecast", it's for audio only. What good is that?

The sales manager knew the answers to my questions. He understood my objectives for a high quality "man cave"/ sound studio. He agreed with my choice of high end speakers and their compatibility. I enjoyed the sales experience.

Little pricey but overall very pleased. Needed to upgrade a unit that was getting old. This one supports my Xbox Series X HDR really well, streaming TV & movies look greats. Music streaming services work well although the app on phone can be a bit laggy.

Very happy with this unit. I was not that familiar with the Onkyo brand, but it had a couple of features I wanted that two other legacy brands didn’t, so I decided to give it a try. No regrets, highly recommend.

    Frustrating experience with Onkyo TX-NR6100

Got error message during initial setup - NG: LCRSLSRBLBR. This indicates a speaker error. I’ve identified the bad speaker and want to retry setup. After many abortive Google attempts, even a factory reset is not happening. The product is under warranty, but the nearest service center is 2 hours away, if I don’t want to spend on mailing the receiver back and forth. I delayed setting it up and am now past the returns window. Onkyo Support is not available on the phone. Very frustrating experience.

Best value for a Dual Zone receiver! Have used Onkyo for years! Onkyo receivers have programming buttons ON the receiver so you can still adjust even if you lost the remote!

I bought this unit after my Pioneer Elite had the HDMI board fail after 1 year. This unit didn't even last one year. After about 8 months the unit pop'd and died. I contacted warranty and they offered to repair, but required that I pay shipping. I argued and pleaded given that I had a previously short lived Pioneer (same company) and they covered the shipping. After 4 months of repairs and most all the boards having been replaced (more expensive to Onkyo than them sending me a brand new unit), I finally received it back. However, now the headphone mode is stuck on and the repair center stated that it means that there is a problem with another board and it would need to be sent back again. I expect Onkyo will again tell me I have to pay the huge shipping cost with no apparent guarantee that it will last the trip to my house. Stay away from Onkyo and Pioneer! You may get lucky with a good unit, but if it goes bad you get NO support! The repair center advised that Yamaha is the best without question. They have their own factory, build the speaker short protection better than any other brand, pay for shipping on warranty, and often are known to cover repairs that occur even after warranty ends. Unless Onkyo surprises me and offers free shipping back to the repair center, I plan to give up and buy a Yamaha. Over the last two years, I've spent $1100 on Onkyo/Pioneer equipment and I've only been able to use both for a total of about 1.5 years.

Onkyo has been a standard in my household for quite sometime. This receiver is a slight upgrade from a previous model that is 12 years old and still going strong. I was looking for the Atmos feature to include my line up speaker system.

It was this or far more expensive Sonos. Works great, easy to use, then discovered the phone app to control it and that elevated the whole experience. I have this in a closed cupboard and run everything i need with app including zone 2. I have seperator for speakers in various rooms so zone 2 with a little help is great. Total Tech consulted and installed. DEFINITELY worth the money for that service. The Onkyo is easier to configure than my comparable Pioneer. Sound about the same.

Remote is light and cheep, there is no on screen setup that can be found. Good sounding system if you have the patience to manually set up , if you are not experienced you may want to go with a Sony.
