Customers are saying

Customers commend the TX-NR6100 7.2 Channel THX Certified Network A/V Receiver for its outstanding sound quality, ease of use, and plentiful HDMI inputs. Many find the setup process quick and easy, and appreciate the high power and additional features offered at its price point. However, some customers have noted that the front display seems lacking and there is too much clicking between inputs.

This was an upgrade from an HT model I got a number of years ago. The upgrade is well worth all the bits and this receiver has the power to really make my speakers pop while leaving me to upgrade down the road

Nice AVR - fixed my Zone 2 problem nicely

After 3 Denons, I thought I'd give Onkyo a try. One of my top requirements is Main Zone and Zone 2 spaces, each with a TV. It was a good move. I really like the Onkyo approach to Zone 2 much better. With the Denons, I had to use Zone 2 speakers for audio, no audio via HDMI to the Zone 2 TV. A real pain to just watch TV in Zone 2 - audio controlled by another (not the TV) remote, limited to phone app due to removed location. This Onkyo fixed my problem. I'm running a 5.1 speaker system along with Zone 2 speakers - but can use the TV speakers for TV if desired.

    Remote tuning for other devices

Once I have all the inputs plugged in, used ARCe, I don't know how to get the remote to turn on everything. Also, it seems to want to search all the inputs and stops on the Blue ray player. Sometimes the TV screen doesn't come on. Otherwise wow what a great AVR.

This model replaces my older Onkyo 626 when the Wi-Fi stopped working. It is performing well and provides a quality sound.

Bought this unit to use as a stereo only setup for the time being. I needed a receiver with a phono input. I am very pleased with it so far.

    Nice unit, but Bluetooth sucks…

I purchased this unit in June 2024; Bluetooth connectivity suddenly began to cut out intermittently in November. It would reconnect with no problem (though annoying), then suddenly it (Bluetooth) stopped working all together. It says “connected” to the unit on my phone, but the display on the TV does not recognize it, and the only audio is through my phone speaker. I will initiate the warranty process by contacting BestBuy to determine what happens next-will likely NOT purchase another Onkyo, and instead will go back to Yamaha.

We had high hopes for this reciever & when it works its great, but after only 3-4 months it started acting weird. The sound will just shut for no reason. Sometimes it happens when switching streaming platforms or changes channels while watching TV or doumg absolutely nothing. Customer support wasn’t helpful at all so we have to take it to an authorized service company but the closet one is 4 hours away anf pay shipping! So much for having a warranty on it! Its been nothing but a disappointment

    Shouldn’t cost more than $100. It’s crap.

This thing is a piece of crap, sounds cut out, won’t pass through, onscreen menu won’t shows. This is the one item that will make Best Buy’s “warranty” not a scam.

Onkyo TX-NR6100 does not support infrared remote extender. Remote has a proprietary fequency . Why would Onkyo do this ??? This unit will NOT work in another room. Must be displayed same room with the remote in direct plane with the reciever. I found out the hard $$$ way. Onkyo and Best Buy left me hanging with $800 loss. Sorry, It's not broke so we can't help you out. They say I should had known this ??? Really ??? Never use Onkyo or Best Buy again. Trash !
