I bought this to replace a 20 plus year old Yamaha surround sound receiver. There are a lot of features that are on this that didn't exist on my old receiver. Unfortunately my TV is old and can't take advantage of all the features. As I look to upgrade the TV I hope these extra features will be utilized. Sound quality is an improvement. I only give it 4 stars as it is too new to determine reliability. Price/value relationship seems to be great.

This receiver replaced a Pioneer receiver we had for years that had been problematic on many levels. The Onkyo is far superior. The sound is awesome, the controls are simplified, setup was easy, and the price was reasonable for a product of this quality.

This receiver is awesome, I have like the sound that produce for the movies, I have been using it to listen music, I was expecting to watch more movies, but the sound of the music from it sound very good, I might get a HIFI sound system. This receiver support 8K for the TVs that will appear in 2 or 3 years, so you will be OK in the next couple of years.

So far I am very happy with my Onkyo NR6100. It was a struggle to get it set up and I am still not sure the room/speaker set up worked. However the Onkyo forum moderator provided a solution to the problem for which I visited the forum. I bought this to replace a Dennon that was an ergonomic disaster and remained difficult to use after years of ownership. The Onkyo replaces a rotary selector with push buttons and some ancillary controls, Way, way easier to use. There are no instructions about how to set it up included but they are available online. More set up instructions should have been included but I guess that's the way of the world there days.

This Onkyo is Awesome. It is extremely user friendly and sounds great. It links to Alexa, has all the built in music services like Pandora, Spotify and others and integrates with Sonos. Has 5.1 channels with Zone 2. I added a Sonos Amp on the network and have 3 zones now. Can play all 3 zones with the same of different music with the Sonos App. You can tell Alexa to play Alexa music or Pandora, etc music in any of the named zones. The surround system sounds great too. Love this system. Bought a Denon but sent it back due to it being so user unfriendly.

I recently purchased the Onkyo TX-NR6100 7.2 Channel THX Certified Network A/V Receiver and I am extremely impressed with its performance. The receiver has a sleek design and fits seamlessly into my home entertainment setup. The sound quality is top-notch - it produces clear and powerful audio for all of my movies, music, and TV shows. The network connectivity is also a major plus - I can easily stream content from my phone and tablet and control the receiver using the Onkyo app. The setup process was straightforward and the user manual was easy to follow. I highly recommend the Onkyo TX-NR6100 to anyone in need of a high-quality A/V receiver. It's a great value for the price and has greatly enhanced my home entertainment experience.

Great sound. Terrible documentation to setup and control unlike my old Onkyo. There was no info regarding the requirement to attach a tv to perform setup! Had issues with sound lag no matter the quality of HDMI cable used on my blu-ray and HDMI cable used to the ARC HDMI. Workaround was to hook the blu-ray and other HDMI units directly to the TV and use the TV’s optical fiber sound output for sound to the Onkyo surround. Unfortunately this solution seems to degrade the surround quality and experience.

Yes! Full HDMI 2.1 compatibility. This has no problem passing VRR and 120Hz from XSX and PS5 to the TV. The sound is pretty good, and on screen menu's for the sound decoding is nice as well (DTS, Dolby, etc).

I bought this to replace an old Onkyo unit. I knew what I was getting with the quality product and basic features which was quality sound. I have also enjoyed many new features like the online music the Onkyo iPhone app and I put switching. The unit has performed well as the surround sound unit for our main tv. The front display seems lacking but has a very full feature display when linked with the TV and many additional options and features. Comparing this unit to other models in the price range I have been very happy and would choose Onkyo again.

LOVE MY ONKYO SURROUND RECEIVER!!! So my older Onkyo quiet one day about a year ago and I’ve been wanting to replace it. For one reason or another I waited almost 2 years looking and comparing, so much technology out there. But I decided to go back with this ONKYO and I was not disappointed, price was perfect, has all that I wanted and more, and it sounds AMAZING!!! I didn’t realize how much I missed good movies with a great surround system!

I have used mostly Denon receivers, but this Onkyo is just as good in my opinion. Has the 8k capability, with 4k @ 120hz. Great sound quality, if anything it is better than a caparable Denon. I also prefer the dark amber color for the ui rather than the bright white that most Denon receivers have. Great receiver below 1k dollars.

We needed to replace an older amp- the updated features were great. The only thing there was no real set up instructions so we ended using our total tech program to get it set up. We don't have as many speakers as before and sometimes it actually turns itself back on- so I wait before I leave the room to make sure it's off. It was open box and we got it at half price!
