Great receiver, sounds great. Had to replace the previous Onkyo as we sold it with the home in with the media room equipment. It has plenty power and many features to keep even the most sophisticated audio people happy.

Absolute BEST receiver for the money, hands down!
Love the features.
Wish that Onkyo still makes Home theater systems.
Upgraded from an old Onkyo 5.1 system to this 7.2 channel. Sound is superb

I have had my eye on this for a while. Grabbed one in June 2020 as Open-Box Excellent. The quality was perfect and it frankly looks brand new, with the packaging fully intact.
The UI is a bit lacking, but once I set it up, it is bearable. The sound quality more than makes up for it.
I have this connected to a 65” TCL 4K TV and a 5.1.2 Sony Speaker Array and they all work together seamlessly.
Absolutely everything I hoped it would be!

I bought this TV as an open box item. The only thing it didn’t have that I needed was the remote. I bought a remote on Amazon for $7. This receiver has everything including AirPlay, Bluetooth, etc..

Very happy with the ease of setup and sound quality thus far.
One thing to note, which I didn't find out until after I setup the unit. You can't play sound on zone 2 speakers from a digital source (i.e. HDMI). The audio source must be analog (Bluetooth, red/white component cables from cable box, etc.). However, you also won't find a receiver at this price point that will have this functionality.
Another minor gripe is that you can't see the volume of zone 2 on the receiver display when adjusting it with the remote. I believe you can see and adjust the zone 2 volume on the Onkyo smart phone app, although I haven't used it yet.
All in all, I'm happy with the receiver and would buy it again.

Great receiver!!!! Warm, natural sound and plenty of power. 4 star just for the fact that it has to be hooked up to a TV to make all the adjustments. This gets used for music only and not a TV remotely near it. Had to have BB come out and hook it up for me. No complaints what so ever on that part cause they worked around the TV issue and got me going. ALWAYS a great job from them :-)

After having it about a month, I've been very pleased with the sound. Some of the advanced features were not all I imagined they would be, but I could be missing something since I haven't read the manual. AirPlay works fine for audio an showing cover art, but I can't get it send video through AirPlay. I also can't get the Chromecast feature to work well (again could be user error). The app for the remote seems to have most of the functions, but it's not very intuitive. Overall, it does the main thing, audio, well which is what lead to my rating.
Highly recommended… especially for 4K Dolby Vision

I was using an Amp from another manufacturer that I liked, but I kept having problems with 4K Dolby Vision. My TV would go to a black screen and then back to picture repeatedly. I tried every type of fix.
Finally, this Onkyo did the trick. And I’m VERY glad that the A/V installers at my workplace chose this amp. As soon as I saw it work, I knew I had to buy one for home.
And I am VERY GLAD I did! That screen blanking problem is no longer a thing. Setup is easy. And the automatic speaker/distance/EQ routine works better than most other amps.
I highly recommend this unit!!

Just replaced my Yamaha that was only 2 years old. ARC was going out. This Onkyo works way better than the Yamaha ever did! Very easy to set up and use. Awesome sound. Have always liked Onkyo.

I have this hooked up in the media room. Picture quality and sound are great. I have klipsch surround sound and 2 subs hooked up to it. The system has some power. No distortion.

I bought this for my home theatre because of the simplistic front display layout. There was a problem with it when it was set up. it struggled to recognize my apps on my samsung tv, so they had to exchange it and my sound simply showed up. i could not be happier with the sound and the ease of use. if you are looking for a receiver that others can operate when you aren't home, i believe this is the one

Once the receiver was wired up I just turned it on and followed the prompts. The room microphone to determine the optimal volume and cutoff settings ended up creating a much balanced sound compared to the Sony it replaced. It also seamlessly integrated with the Samsung TV we bought previously. One remote for both receiver and TV is a huge plus. Hooking up a powered subwoofer rocks the walls with some movies. Love it.
