Onkyo TX-SR494

Works great with 5.1.2 setup with no issues. Only confusing thing is the firmware update. Onkyo website shows that there is a newer version available but the update didn't install so ended up calling Onkyo support and they confirmed that this is mistake on their website and my receiver already has the latest firmware.

Initial Setup Requires Connnection to a TV

The "Setup" is not completed so every time you turn on the receiver the "Setup" prompt comes up and the "Setup" button has to be pushed before you can select your audio. I submitted a request to Onkyo if there is a way to fix this situation but never heard back.

Was easy to set up 4 spekers and a subwoofer for soembody that has absolutely no idea what they were doing The instructions were very clear and the initial set up on the TV was easy to follow. Definitely recommend this product!

The set up screens were easy to navigate. It was an open box deal so I saved a lot on it. It was in great condition for an open box. I had a Yamaha receiver but it finally died and I wasn’t best pleased on how it worked anyway. Greay product! I am very happy with my purchase!
