Needed to replace my old landline that was used only for alarm monitoring and find a less expensive solution. The Ooma Telo Air was the perfect choice for me. Setup was very easy and straight forward and it works fine with my old ADT alarm system plus I'm saving about $35 per month.

So far so good, sound quality is good. The only issue was one of the handsets the 0 was not working properly but after calling the company they are going to send out another unit to me. Was a little hard to setup, my phone was telling me it wasn't connecting to the base, but the unit did get updated and service was activated, a little confusing the way it happened.

The phone calls sound as good as a landline. Lots of features with the free service. More features and a second line can be added for a monthly fee. Porting your old number is supported as is 911 service. Being that this is phone is IP based and IP's change, you need to keep your address in your Ooma account current for them to find your current location. Free unlimited calling in the US. There is a per minute fee to call other countries. Some are just a few cents a minute, some more. Check the Ooma website for the current rates if that's important to you. You are charged federal and state communication taxes and 911 Fees if you have them in your area. For eastern PA this works out to $6/month. Started out at $2/month 8 or 9 years ago. The range on the handsets is excellent. Took one out in the yard 120' from the base and it worked perfectly. Very reliable. I've never had any issue connecting or with voice quality. I started with a 35Mbps Internet service 8 years ago and am now up to 1Gig Internet. I've recommended this to a friend with a 20Mbps and it worked fine for him as well. My first ooma box lasted 8 years till it got flaky and then died. Not a bad run, was ready for new handsets anyway. You are limited to 4 Ooma handsets on this Ooma base. If you need more than that, you can use the standard RJ11 phone jack to add more. You can plug in any phone, a multi-phone wireless phone system, a fax, etc. and use them instead or in addition to the ooma handsets. Maybe you can find cheaper or free, but with Ooma you get a reserved phone number that never changes in most any area code you choose on a reliable service that sounds and works as expected. For me it's worth a few bucks a month to know that anyone in my house has ready access to reliable phones that can contact 911 sending my address automatically if it's ever needed.

It’s great considering for what you pay for the service. Didn’t realize it will increase your service to the more expensive option without telling you after three months, but it’s easy to change. Call quality is fair, not as clear as a landline or cell phone, but is good for the $8/month service plan. Highly recommended if you need to have a house phone for emergency use or for kids that don’t have cell phones. Very affordable option after initial purchase of equipment.

I am glad I got my OOMA home phone!

I got this OOMA less than 2 weeks ago, set it up on my wireless internet pretty easily, I had to download the OOMA setup app on my cell in order to connect it wirelessly. Ethernet is also an option with no app needed. I ported my number from comcast voice. OOMA said it could take 30 days, but it only took a few days to port the number and they give you a temporary number to use until then. My bill will be only 5.95 per month with OOMA. If you want to have enhanced caller ID, you have to get the Premier service for 9.95 a month, otherwise you just see the number of the caller unless you have them in your contacts. You can use the handsets provided, they have picture ID, or you can use any cordless phone you already have, and you can use OOMA voicemail, or your own answering machine. As with any digital phone service, if you have no power or no internet, you wont have phone service. OOMA offers a 4 G backup, but its not compatible with Telo Air. The only downside is a slight delay when you answer the phone or when you are dialing out and waiting for it to ring on the other end. In the few days I have been using it, the calls are clear and the service has been great!

This was a great solution for our family. My wife and I have cell phones and got rid of our home phone years ago. Now our kids are getting old enough to use the phone on a regular basis but not ready for a cell phone or their own. This was a great low cost solution. Setup was easy. The range of the headsets are good. The call quality is good.

Ooma is a wonderful alternative to a landline phone at about 1/10 the price! Easy installation. With Ooma, you can have your phone calls automatically routed to your cell phone, which is a nice feature that helps you avoid missing calls.

Wish i had bought this years ago! Hooked up this baby and canceled my old phone service, saved myself $40/month. Works great! It's different from other phone services, easy to install, price was right and saving $$$ is even better. Works with my old phones also!

Ooma devices are great and they sound like talking on a land line vs VOIP. The cost of the Ooma service is just great & runs around $5 per month depending on state taxes and for this, you get unlimited long distance in the US.

Super easy to setup. Took less than 10 minutes. Get to chose your own phone number. I have yet to have a single random call or robocall, so thinking my number is brand new! Call quality is amazing and crystal clear. Best decision I ever made especially having sketchy cell service in the house. And all for $5 a month...insane!

This is my second Ooma. I bought my first one almost 10 years ago, and it finally died. This one was infinitely easier to setup, configure and get working with my existing ooma account. I have it configured so that it is wireless and truly able to be placed anywhere in the house. The only downside is that the base unit occasionally loses sync with the handset, but its an easy fix by rebooting the base unit. Overall- I'm glad I made the upgrade.

This is my second Ooma telo. The first one died after many years, at least 10. It may have been the victim of a storm. This one was very easy to set up although the technical support was not at all knowledgeable about the product and kept on reading to me from a script. I was able to set up the device on my own after realizing that the technical help was not at all helping. Once set up, the device works as advertised. Calls are always clear and there is never a moment when I have difficulty with audio. The handsets are very ergonomic and have a small base, which means that I have many places where I can set it down without worrying about space. Of course, I can place it only in spots where I have an electrical outlet as one is needed to power the handsets. Once powered, the handset can be used anywhere in my house. I have not tried using the handset outside my house, but I know that it works at least 40 feet from the base. With the handset and wifi, making and receiving calls are seamless. The Built-in WiFi in the telo implies that I can place it literally anywhere in my house. The telo and two handsets were on sale when I bought them. The price was reasonable, but the most significant factor in terms of price is that the value to operating cost ratio for this product is highly competitive. Though I have used the premium service in the past, I now use only the basic service as I use the Ooma service as a supplement for my cell. Nonetheless, there are some nice features that come with the premium service. Of course, nothing is free or always priced perfectly on the sweet spot; thus one must pay extra for the premium service.

Recently I upgraded my Ooma telo which I had over 10 years with an Ooma Air with two HD3 hand sets. I am extremely satisfied with my upgrade. I can move my Ooma to any room since there is wifi on it and the hand sets are awesome - great finished and very easy to operate. There are so many feathers on the handsets. The voice is excellent and it is very clear. I will recommend it.
