This thing works great. It was easy to connect with very good instructions. I had no problems creating an account, picking a phone number, then after a few days I ported my old number to Ooma. That process took about a week. The voice and call quality is very good so far. Lots of call and voice mail options in the web interface. And, most of all, it's a whole lot cheaper per month (you only pay your local phone taxes each month).

Good option for home phone service

As recent cord cutter, I needed another option for my home phone service. While this is not the cheapest solution as far as initial cost is concerned, the quality of service more than makes up for that. Calls are very clear and with the premium service option ($10 a month) it eliminates a lot of unwanted telemarketing calls. All in all well worth the investment.

Best quality VoIP service with free voice calling, pay once for the device, no charge for local and long distance calls, only pay usual taxes, surcharges and fees each month. And they offer a viable fail-over option in case you lose internet access. You can tell less quality VoIP services by jitter, dropoffs, etc.. Good Customer Service.

Works well for what its intended for. You do have to pay a monthly fee for the service, but it wasnt too much. Pretty easy set up.

Was able to install and interface the Ooma unit with my cordless phones as well as the Wifi without any problems. It is a good thing that there are youtube videos on it as the instructions were not all that easy to follow.

Excellent VOIP phone service using Ooma

This Ooma VOIP phone device is easy to set up and works flawlessly. The money saved by switching to a VOIP phone service using the Ooma compared to a traditional phone service will pay for the cost of the Ooma in only a few months. The Ooma will continue to provide years of trouble free, quality VOIP phone service at a fraction of the cost of a traditional phone service.

I cut the cable cord but didn't want to lose my home telephone number. After a little research I found the Ooma Telephone device and read up on it. It's fairly simple to configure and was up and running in 10 minutes using a temporary telephone number. Number porting only took 2 days after which I cancelled my cable completely. I elected not to pay for the Premier service plan because I just wanted basic telephone service. The bottom line is it works well and only costs $5.38 per month. Get rid of cable!

Bought for my sister. We use for home phone number. Mostly for messages and occasionally for talking with parents. 80% of the time is has a good quality. If i get bad quality we call right back and it is usually ok.
We tried magic jack prior to this with poor results.

Moved to Ooma from MagicJack, and have been quite pleased with the new service. With MagicJack at least once a week it would loose the connection, and we wouldn't get inbound calls, no problem so far with Ooma, Haven't had to deal with Customer service, as there's been no need to call them. Plugged it in, let it initialize and set up the account online all without issues. Call quality is fine, and more importantly, the Wife is happy with the service (that's all that really counts right ? )

Easy setup with good documentation.
Added the premium package for a year to see if worth it.
One odd thing is it would not accept my address as it is a rural number which was too large for the system.
Great quality compared to my old landline which had become unusable.

Great product, great price. Best Buy didn't have one at my store so they had one delivered to my home in less than two days. Easy to install, almost "plug-n-play" easy. Love the service and the savings. Thanks OOMA and Best Buy!

Great dependable alternative to a landline or cellphone when you’re home. The base plan is just a few dollars a month for taxes imposed by the government. Very reliable & the sound quality is superb. A friend bought one of these also. Highly recommended.

We replaced our ISP (TWC) VOIP system with the Ooma Telo. Exact same quality - using our existing phone system. Setup was a snap, as was the porting of our existing phone number. We actually prefer using our existing handsets to the Ooma handsets. Note that all handsets now coexist on the same system. Even with the annual premier subscription, we are now saving hundreds of dollars a year with the Ooma system.
