Not thrilled with this "4K" resolution!!

I am sn optics major. Poor quality looking equiment and it feels and does poorly. Not sure will recommend

Stopped working after a week

It turns on but doesn’t project any video on to the screen. Best Buy did troubleshooting and realized it is a defective piece. Going to replace it with Epaon 5050.

Failed after only 3 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After only 3 months I get a warning saying, FAN LOCKED, call a service center for repair. The projector then shuts down. It was a nice projector until now but unbelievable to have it fail after such a short amount of time. Even with the warranty repair which will undoubtedly come, that’s only piece of mind for 1 year. $1,500 after tax is a lot to pay for a plastic brick. This is the second Optoma projector I have had with a failed fan which renders it useless without a replacement fan. I tried and failed to find a proper replacement fan on eBay. The fan spun just fine but the projector software didn’t recognize it as actually being installed. As a result, despite the fan spinning just fine the projector still claimed a fan failure and would shut itself down. I’m over Optoma at this point. My customer service request for this new problem got an auto reply saying they, “Endeavor to get back to me within 2 to 3 days.” What a lofty customer service goal they have set for themselves. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised though. They never did bother to even respond to the request for a proper fan replacement I made months ago.

Warranty is worthless!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Optoma is not appropriately honoring warranty on these. I bought mine late last year. It just completely stopped working a month ago - within the warranty period. They say they are in a parts shortage and can't fix it until parts arrive. However, they somehow have parts to build brand new ones. This is not a company that values existing customers. My next projector will be with a different company.
