Fantastic Toothbrush
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This toothbrush is incredible. Dentist clean feeling without going into the office. I was skeptical of the reviews because I couldn’t believe there would be that big of a difference but I was wrong. I know some reviews mentioned difficulty with Bluetooth connection but it connected without problems to my phone. Definitely would recommend!

Great Toothbrush
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first I thought it was a bit expensive but once I started using it I began to notice differences in the way my teeth felt after brushing. With the old electric brush, my teeth felt clean. With this one, they feel clean and polished. I really like the toothbrush. The app is pretty decent as well.

Disgusting!!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pull off the replaceable brush head and there was red and black mold and mildew! Made me want to vomit knowing the brush was in my mouth for a couple months. My old oral b never had this problem. Must be a drainage problem. I rinse and wipe dry after every use. The toothbrush works great but moisture leading to mold is going to be a problem.

First time with Oral-B
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time user of an Oral-B brush. Fluid easily finds its way into the head of the brush and down the main handle (inside and out). I'd imagine over time that would build up if not cleaned regularly and cause issues. Returned and will be going back to Sonicare.

Good variety vibrations but with a hard bristle he
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While using the io 8 I like that they have different features to select when brushing your teeth, I think its easy to use and select your variations of intensity. However, what I do not like is the feel of the toothbrush in your mouth while you're brushing. You may need to change the teeth head to soft or medium type brushes. When I even used it on sensitive teeth mode I found it still too much on the hard side. The vibrations are good but the bristle need to be soft. I also like the case for the toothbrush to hold my extra teeth heads, and the charger piece that holds the toothbrush upright.

Great Electric Toothbrush, but not that smart
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great toothbrush. I actually feel the difference after each session. But there are no features in here, that make me go back to its app, or think twice about any of its "smart" features. Right out of the box, you know that this is a well built product, the feel and the weight of the brush in your hands is effortless and the design is well balanced. The brush stands on its own on a flat surface, and also on the magnetic wireless charging stand. There is a tiny screen on the brush that allows you to make some basic selections to setup the brush initially, and select your daily brush cycle. There are multiple in brush feedbacks that are minute but add up to a great experience. - There is a timer that starts, pauses and resumes automatically with the power button when you start your brush cycle. - There is a haptic feedback every 30 secs, so you know how much time you've been brushing without having to look at the screen. - There is a ring of led around the head that tells you if you are applying too much pressure (lights up red) Now to the app - It does feel like an afterthought. You can connect the brush via bluetooth to your phone, and then you can start a brush cycle/session. The app then shows you in real time where you are brushing currently, and when it feels that area is completely clean. Now, in my experience it does a really decent job of guessing where the brush is currently. But it can get stuck sometimes in some places. The main pet peeve of mine is that the brush itself does not store any history so that once we connect it to the app it syncs all the history and we can then analyze on the app. You have to start the session with the app connected. Its just too cumbersome, with little reward in the end. Overall, again its an amazing toothbrush with great build quality. But at this point in time I would rather go for the same brush without the iO features at a lower price.

A Fun and Enlightening Toothbrush
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before the Oral-B iO Series 8 toothbrush, I was using a 10-year-old electric toothbrush from a competing brand. I was very excited about something new and up to date with all the bells and whistles. The iO Series 8 is all of that, and then some. Design – I have the purple (Violet Ametrine) one, and it looks lovely along with the black accents. The LED screen is also a big step forward compared to my old toothbrush, and while it took some getting used to, the iO Series 8 provides a fun little welcome screen to navigate the settings. Toothbrush Head – I’m sold on the round, rotating brush heads of the Oral-B compared to another specific leading brand. It, for some reason, feels more precise in cleaning and leaves my teeth feeling a lot more smoother/clean as if I just got back from the dentist’s office. Pressure Sensors – Never have I thought about the pressure I’m applying to my teeth while brushing them, but the Oral-B iO Series 8 has me thinking about all the years of hard pressure I’ve been applying to my teeth and gums. This smart toothbrush has a ring at the base of the brush head that lights up in white, red, and green. Red means you’re pressing too hard and applying too much pressure on your teeth, white means you’re not applying enough pressure, and green means perfect. :) Phone App – If you want to get nerdy about oral hygiene, the Oral-B iO Series 8 has an app that you can download to your phone. It lets you know more about how you’re doing in your brushing habits, allowing you to make the necessary changes to improve your cleaning technique. Dislikes – There is not much that I can complain about when it comes to the iO Series 8. If anything, I would say it is on the pricy side, but given all the tech packed into this device, it is pretty much in line with other devices on the market. The only criticism I would say is that I feel like the plastic travel case is pretty large and bulky. I wish it came with a soft canvas case. I also wish that the charging base was a bit nicer instead of a dull charging base. Overall, the Oral-B iO Series 8 toothbrush is a great upgrade from very old toothbrushes (or manual ones) that provide great insight into your oral hygiene.

Hi-Tech Hygiene
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The most versatile and variable power electric toothbrush I have used. Calling it an electric toothbrush is a disservice to it. It is quite a nice looking toothbrush sitting on its magnetic charge pedestal, however, it could easily be tipped off the base. Add the Oral B App to your phone, and you basically have a dental hygienist watching and guiding you on how to your brush. It has 7 different modes of brushing, from sensitive to whitening. I enjoy the guidance the app provides while brushing. It lets you know when you’re teeth are clean. And the neat feature is that it tells you if you are applying too much pressure while brushing, which I do/did. Following along with the app while brushing definitely leaves your teeth feeling cleaner and smoother, if you pay attention to the 6 zone cleaning from your app, that let's you know when you've covered all 6 areas. The brush head is a little bigger than standard electric toothbrushes that I have used, so it might not be the brush of choice for smaller mouths. But overall, it is definitely a whole new hi-tech brushing experience that I enjoy and learn from for my daily dental hygiene routine.

A Smart and Superior Performer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.---------------THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT--------------------------------- Let’s get this out of the way right away, this is not a cheap toothbrush by any stretch of the imagination, but what you get for the money is the best toothbrush I have ever used, and one that I plan to use for a very long time to come. The guided brushing system is actually very helpful, with light cues and vibrations which help track the progress of your brushing. Likewise, the companion app is responsive, intuitive, provides several features for helping monitor your brushing habits, and lets you plan a “brushing journey” for achieving specific goals (such as teeth whitening or improving your gum health). On the whole though, what really matters is how the toothbrush performs, and in this regard, it is top-class. The pressure system helps ensure you are always applying proper pressure, and when used for the proper amount of time, truly cleans unlike any brush I have ever owned. It makes me wish I had invested in a brush like this earlier, because the results really are that good. If you have the money and are looking for a top-class toothbrush, this is highly recommended. ----------------------SET-UP/FUNCTIONALITY---------------------------------- As expected, its very easy to get set-up and running with this toothbrush. While it helps to install the app and connect with the brush via Bluetooth (which worked seamlessly thankfully), all you need to get-up and going is to ensure the brush is charged, and to attach one of the three included brush heads. The included OLED display works out of the box, and will promptly start timing you when you begin brushing. The brush heads themselves are a little large, but not so much that I ever felt uncomfortable. Having never used an electric toothbrush of this quality, the speed of the spinning brush head took some getting used to, but after a few days, I quickly adjusted and never looked back. You can change the brushing mode with the on-screen display to either daily clean, gum care, sensitive, whitening, intense, or super sensitive, to help tailor the brushing to your teeth/goals. The charging dock is a relatively compact disk with a small magnet that attaches with the bottom of the brush and keeps the brush upright while it charges. In total it takes about 3 hours to charge to full, but if you have the space to keep the dock plugged in all of the time, you’ll never need to worry about battery loss. I was easily able to get several days out of the brush before needing to charging again. As for the app, its nicely organized, and very responsive. I had no issues connecting to the toothbrush or staying connected. The app lets you do smaller things, like setting-up reminders for replacing the brush heads, or setting up Amazon Dash Replenishment to automatically replace the brush heads (which should last about every 3 months or so with normal use). For more performance based functionality, you can track your brushing live in the app on a section-by-section basis (three sections for the top row of teeth and three for the bottom), so you can ensure you have spent the proper time in each portion of your mouth. It’s a shame it doesn’t track tooth-by-tooth, or by sides of the teeth, but it is still nice to have something which helps ensure you are properly covering your whole mouth during your brushing session. You can also review your brushing history in the app, earn “medals” for good mouth care habits, and set-up dental care journeys. These dental care journeys are a personal favorite of mine, as they let you set up long-term goals for your brushing, as well as track your progress overtime. For example, I choose the whitening journey, which lets you set-up how long you want to track your goal, your starting point for the color of your teeth, and then it sets up a brushing process for helping you achieve your goal. You can also set up journeys for fresh breath, plague fighting, gum health, and ortho care. ------------------------PERFORMANCE---------------------------------- At the end of the day, you buy a toothbrush for its performance first, not its smarts, and thankfully this is easily the best toothbrush I have ever used in that regard as well. It uses an oscillating-rotating pattern to clean your teeth, and combined with the pressure sensor, which lights up different colors to indicate if you need to brush with more or less pressure, it really helps you optimize your brushing pattern. The toothbrush will vibrate every 30 seconds to help pace your brushing, which I like a lot, although given that the toothbrush is electric, it can be a bit hard to notice the vibration at times. A sound cue would have been nice as well in addition to the 30 second vibration. As mentioned earlier, the app also has a setting for monitoring your brushing live, so you can ensure you fully brush all parts of your mouth with the appropriate time and pressure. I quite like this a lot, although unfortunately the live brushing tracking only works in sections, and not on a tooth-by-tooth basis, so it doesn’t feel quite as granular as I’d like. The OLED display is easy to navigate, and you can switch between the different brushing modes quite easily. I found all of them to be highly useful depending on what your overall goals of brushing are, and together, it helps complete the brush as a smart product, beyond what a normal toothbrush can do. Finally, in terms of accessories, the traveling case is a nice addition to the package, and has spots for the handle and a couple of brush heads, which should be more than enough for storage. Overall, I have basically no complaints in terms of performance. I do wish the live-brushing monitoring was a bit more in-depth, and that the pressure indicator was a bit more noticeable, but these are small niggles with an otherwise well thought out and highly performant product. The OLED display and color-changing feature helps accent the toothbrush’s modern aesthetic, and altogether, is an easy to recommend product.

Tons of Features, Great Results
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You might be wondering why you want to spend a lot of $$$ for a toothbrush. The answer is simple, electric toothbrush gives you better results. It's 2020 and Oral B has upped the game with a toothbrush that takes advantage of technology that is available today. The amazing thing about connected toothbrush is that it gives the users power and motivation to take care their teeth better. And it's not just a gimmick. You charge the toothbrush through a magnetic charging cradle. The toothbrush just magically stands on the cradle and it's getting the charge. Nice. You connect the toothbrush to an Oral B app and the process is pretty seamless. Connecting the toothbrush to your phone is easy, the app guides you to ensure connection is made. The app lets you know if you have brushed your teeth properly, if there's some spot you've missed. The toothbrush and the app works well. I have been using several toothbrushes before using this one and the feeling I got from using this toothbrush is much better. It's miles away from the one I got a few years before. It felt like my teeth has been thoroughly cleaned. I like that the toothbrush gives you several brushing modes for different set of purposes. The toothbrush has tons of power to clean your tooth but it's not overpowering. Brushing my teeth with this toothbrush is a pleasant experience, it does not feel hurt at all. The toothbrush has a LED ring indicator to let you know if you're doing well brushing the teeth. There's a lot of tech and sensors in this toothbrush and they work well. The toothbrush is also designed to be travel friendly. You can remove the toothbrush head to make it more compact and it comes with a travel case so you can safely store the set and pack it in you bag. It's 2020 and Oral B came with a great product.

Exceeded my expectations!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Oral-B - iO Series 8 toothbrush exceeded my expectations! First, upon taking the toothbrush out of its packaging the set up was so easy. There are about 4 initial steps to customize your toothbrush to your preference. When setting up the toothbrush you get to choose the language to be displayed, the color of the ring, and what type of brushing you want to do. I especially liked that there is an app to download to use along with the toothbrush. Then, when you are ready to brush you can open the app while brushing and it will show you what areas you missed and how much you actually brushed all 4 quadrants. The toothbrush pulses every 30 seconds to tell to move on to the next quadrant (they divide the teeth into 4 sections). While brushing there is also a timer displayed to show you how much time left you have for your brushing session. At the end of the brushing, they also give you a percentage on the app of how well you got around to brushing all teeth. Also, in the app, they give you “medals” for completing tasks such as first-time brushing and so on. The toothbrush also gives you 6 different options to choose from when brushing: daily clean, intense, whitening, gum care, sensitive and super sensitive. I have been doing the daily clean option and I love the clean feeling afterwards, feels like I just left the dentist! I was also impressed with the sleekness of the toothbrush and its components. The toothbrush came with 3 replacement heads, a travel case, and a magnetic charger. I really like how smooth and sleek all components are. The charger is not bulky at all and takes up minimal counter space. While charging the toothbrush also displays the battery level. Overall, I am very pleased with this toothbrush and its cleaning efficiency

Poorly designed brush head
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the brush handle is actually decent. I like the color. The modes are great but the brush head is poorly designed. For instance when I brush my teeth saliva and toothpaste will seep through the holes in the brush head and run down the brush handle. I have never had this problem with any other electric tooth brush.

Toothbrushing Gamification!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On a recent trip to the dentist she told me that I have the teeth of an 18 year old...but my gums were another story. Years of chewing sunflower seeds have left me with a receding gum line. She recommended a softer bristled toothbrush but I wasn't satisfied with how my teeth felt afterwards. Enter the iO series from Oral B Despite being in my 40's I apparently have the attention span of a teenager too, so one of the first things I appreciated about this toothbrush is that it started a timer based when you brush your teeth and gives you a smiley face when you've brushed long enough. Pretty cool....or so I thought. Then I downloaded the Oral B app and my mind was blown. Another reviewer mentioned having trouble creating an account by I had no such issue. It was a breeze! You literally get a score for brushing your teeth. Apparently sensors determine what teeth you're brushing and where and at the end of the session it gives you a score that you can track. This feature alone has me brushing my teeth more often because it's so cool! As many others have mentioned the feeling after brushing is clean and my teeth feel good, but that was never an issue for me before. I could probably get the same cleaning performance from another in the Oral B line, but it's 2020! I need something to pass my time and why not brushing my teeth!

Oral-B Steps Up Its Game
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Oral-B electric toothbrushes for many years. It seems each new iteration has a few more bells and whistles that make the newest version worthwhile. With the new Series 8 toothbrush, Oral B has incorporated bluetooth AI capability that allows you to see how well you brushed (via its downloadable smartphone app), what you missed in brushing, how long you brushed and whether you brushed too soft or hard. In a word, amazing! Even your dentist can't provide you with all that information. The Oral-B Series 8 IO series toothbrush comes with a very nice looking travel case with slots for two brush heads. A total of three brush heads, and a charging unit are also included. The brush handle provides real-time dental coaching via a color display. This is a very impressive toothbrush package that uses cutting-edge AI to help you improve how you care for your teeth. I recommend it highly.
