Many appreciate the long battery life, useful app, convenient travel case, and helpful pressure sensor. However, some customers find the price to be high, and others have noted that the brush heads are different from the older Oral-B design.

I bought the iO9 to replace a Sonicare Diamondclean. This was my first Oral-B which I used for about 3 weeks but had to return due to a few issues and ended up getting a Sonicare Diamondclean again
Pros - My teeth felt very clean after brushing. I wouldn't say it was much if any better than than my Sonicare but it did do a great job.
Cons - The Oral-B destroyed my gums. I thought it was just a matter of getting used to it vs. Sonicare but my gums got worse every day and not better. They became red, sensitive and even bled. I did read other reviews before buying that had similar issues but thought they were one offs since I generally don't have issues with sensitive gums. It was an issue that could not be fixed for me which is why I returned it.
The other con, which I could have dealt with if not for the issues with my gums, was that this toothbrush makes a mess. I don't know if it's the design or what but the toothpaste leaks out of the head and down your hand and arm. Just be prepared to have to wipe down after each brushing and wear a bib to protect your shirt lol. If you really concentrate and make sure your mouth doesn't open you may be able to avoid getting toothpaste all over you, I had about a 25% success rate.

I love this toothbrush. Don't know why i waited so long jump to an electric toothbrush. I love the light feature that makes you aware if you're applying too little or too much pressure.

Oral-B is an excellent product and I highly recommend for anyone needing gum/plaque care. But the -9 version is not worth the extra $100 over the 7. Nicer color I guess.

I would recommend this to a friend

Obviously this is a very pricey device but I've tried a few electric toothbrushes (including Oral-Bs below the iO series) and there's nothing like it. I recently lost mine on a trip and tried to make do without replacing it. But after three weeks I threw in the towel and purchased this again (actually I upgraded from the series 7 to the 9). So that's how much I value this.
