This is a great blender for many reasons. First, the cost is great at under $70 tax in. The power of the motor is fantastic. It powers through frozen fruit and ice like a champ. Wanted to buy a Vitamix so badly, but their prices are ridiculous and you get a plastic container. Ridiculous. The glass container is a must. It's a heavy duty, thick glass, easy to clean container. No worries of accumulated odors and stains, despite all of my scrubbing, soaking and rinsing! This Oster Pro is quite impressive in what it can do. Love the reversing blade action with the smoothie function. It really helps to keep things moving without having to stop the blender to redistribute everything. My only complaint is how loud the blender is. That's why I gave it a 4 star rating instead of a 5. It's a blender though and it's loud for max a minute. No BIG deal but I had to mention in case someone has an infant sleeping and turns this powerful blender on.

Quiet, powerful, and slim design. Easy on off for cleaning of smoothie cup. Have been using daily for a week. Works great to make and drink cold protein drinks for athletes ( reason for exchange) Can wobble a bit at higher speeds and my son says he has held the appliance down to stablilize. But for the price and job the blender does - it works great. My son uses in an apartment and while it is a blender and expected to be loud, he says it is quieter than our more expensive one at home. (Had originally purchased the Oster Pro 500 which was larger and louder, and no cup)

I had previously owned an Oster Blender for over 30 years. When it broke I set out to find another. I looked at various brands and none had the many features as this Oster has. It's durable, has a glass container, it chops and blends for the perfect smoothie. I like how it starts and stops to break down the food and then goes on to a continuous blend for the perfect smoothie. The features have definitely improved. I am happy with my choice. I look forward to many more years of use.

Great Item, Blends and Chops Great, Better then the most expensive Blenders on the market, I know this, because I bought one that cost me accouple hundred dollars and it failed after one year. Oster Pro 1200 is very Powerful! Great Value !

We had a 30 year old Oster blender which would not always start so we chose this as a replacement. We absolutely love the smart controls on this blender versus our old blender It is not only great for liquids but we grind whole grains for making bread as well in the smoothie cup. It does a much better job at grinding than does our bullet blender for 2-3 cups of grain. I bought both an extra "blender blade assembly" for the smoothie cup (used on eBay) and the “food processor” attachment and this is now the machine I use for all sorts of projects. I prefer this to our massive cuisinart food processor as it is smaller and lighter to work with. One word of warning. Avoid Chinese made knock-off replacement parts. Tried a blade assembly on Amazon and it just did quite fit well. Then found a used Oster made one on eBay which worked great. Oster Service as of December 2020 had not yet started to sell replacement parts for this blender. Oster was not offering the food processor in December as a stand-alone attachment so had to get it as well on EBAY.

Bought this primarily for making smoothies for myself and my 5 year old son.The blender is plenty powerful for this function. I love the special button specifically for making smoothies. The blender automatically stops when all the ingredients are well blended.

I use it every day for smoothies and mostly love it. Very powerful and good at crushing ice. Negatives: It requires you to hold it when using the smaller container and it seems to leak grease or some kind of fluid from the bottom when it is run for more than a few seconds. I’d recommend it with those caveats.

Upgraded from a cheaper Oster blender to this one. We had some problems with the other one but the difference in quality is noticeable. So far so good. It has strong motor and this is probably the best blender at this price range

Love it! You can just gently press the buttons, which are self explanatory, and let it do its job. It does a special turn, that way then this way. Who said you can't cook and have fun.

I love this blender. It has great power, look really nice, and fits under cabinet on my counter. I use it for making smoothies. It works really well.

SO loves this blender. It has been used only for smoothies so far, which seems to be a good test of its strength since hard frozen fruit has been used. No complaints from us so far. Seems to have as much strength, maybe even more than the old school 70's era blender I had inherited from my parents (it was a work hose until someone burnt it up when a cube of ice was stuck between the blades.) All I know so far is it is great for smoothies that have frozen items included, so for anything softer, I am sure it would be great and last.

This blender is a super champ Has a ton of power and is not afraid of ice cubes. And the added blender cup is perfect for making smoothies

I have only used it to make smoothies, but so far its a good blender. I like that it pulses on the smoothie function so the frozen fruit can get to the bottom. There are a lot of functions I have yet to try. It seems to have enough power and sharp enough blades to do the job. I don't love the removable bottom on the pitcher. I used to have a Waring Pro for about sixteen years that was a one piece pitcher. I miss that, but overall this blender gets the job done.
