pot lid handle breaks

I would have ranked it 5 stars if the lids and their handles could be trusted not to break. The first time I used the dutch oven on top of the stove to boil water, I heard a pop and a crack and the handle on the glass lid popped off. I had followed all of the manufacturer's instructions, hand washing all pieces before use, and noting that the lids were not safe for oven temperatures above 325 degrees F. Well obviously they are not safe on top of the stove when the element is on HIGH. I transferred the boiling water to the second largest pot in the set put on its lid and brought the water to a boil on MEDIUM. That worked with no damage to the lid. Even so, now there is no lid for the dutch oven because the lids are not interchangeable with the frying pan, though it should be. I am waiting on the Gibson Company who imports this OSTER product from China to contact me about a new dutch oven lid. Thought it was a great value for the price but without dependable lids it may as well be a thrift store item.
