I left it on charge all day while I was at work and came home unplugged it and it still wouldn’t hold charge.

If you haven't been able to locate that component we'd suggest touching base with Best Buy to initiate an exchange, as perhaps you somehow ended up with an item that had been previously used and returned incomplete.
