He was very happy with the cover and I was too. I think that even if you are careful you could drop it and ruin your birthday gift.

Love the protection factor. I use my mini in many industrial areas and have dropped it. I have zero worries with it but would appreciate options for portability, like a strap or lanyard hooks.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.its good but the cover on the side for the apple pencil broke off almost a month later. for the most part, it protected the ipad and i bring it with me everywhere, but the cover falling off was a problem. i liked the removable cover which is honestly the reason why i bought it. so, unless otterbox updates the design, i would definitely suggest buying at your own risk.

Within one month of use, a corner had been broken from the stand. Since it was only the stand I did not bother going back to the store for an exchange. Expected more from OtterBox as we have relied on this brand in the past for durability.

Highly recommend, also if your otter box ever gets damaged you get lifetime warranty all you have to do is pay for shipping which is a deal.
