    Not Pleased With This Otterbox

    Within 8 days after purchasing 2 new iPhone 5s and 2 new Otterboxes, a patch of what appeared to be moisture, collected in the upper left hand corner of one of the Otterboxes, between the protective screen and the face of the phone. We Made the cross town trip, once again, to take it back to Best Buy. A sales rep took the box apart and cleaned what he said was probably condensation from between the two surfaces. He said it was most likely caused by a tiny hole or tear in the Otterbox protective cover. He also said that if it happened again to bring it back for a replacement. Before that week was out, the same condensation, or whatever it was, happened again and once again we drove across town to return it for a replacement, as directed by the sales rep. A different rep this time told us there was nothing he or Best Buy could do and I could not have a replacement. He suggested that the splotch was not condensation, that it was either make-up or hand sanitizer that had come into contact with the phone inside my purse. I explained that I did not carry make-up or hand sanitizer in my purse. He was still no help in solving my problem. He did agree however, that it was not something one would expect to happen to an Otterbox.. The fact that my husband and I had purchased 2 iPhone 5s and 2 Otterboxes only 2 weeks earlier made no difference. In fact, in the past 2 years this made a total of 4 IPhones and Otterboxes we had purchased @ Best Buy. The rep was not rude, just not at all concerned about the problem I was having. I told him as we were leaving the store that my husband and I had made our last purchase at Best Buy, he replied very sweetly, "Okay---have a nice day." I was disappointed by that young rep, and even more disappointed by the failure of Best Buy to address my problem.

    I don't know why I stuck with this horrid product for one year after purchasing my iPhone 5. OtterBox is selling garbage which will have you throwing money down a rat hole. The belt clip is beyond flimsy. I don't know who designed this belt clip and decided the matierials which would be used to for it, but shoddy does not begin to describe it. I have broken THREE belt clips. THREE! Yet I kept going back to it because I could not find another product which had a belt clip until recently. The case is so complicated it isn't worth the time and effort. Why do you need that many pieces to put together a protective case, and why does Otter Box insist on making it so hard to assemble and disassemble those pieces? The silicon is poor, and the plastic makes the screen very hard to access. And the covering still allows dirt and other particles to get trapped. Anyone who buys this product should be forced to wear a sign saying, "I am a fool who enjoys throwing away money". Otter Box, I am never buying another one of your products again as long as I live. The only reason I'm giving this product one star is because I can't give it any lower. If I could, it would receive a negative rating.

    Defender Didn't Defend

    I have the Otterbox Defender for the Galaxy Note 4. The phone was dropped from about 3-4 feet off the ground while just holding it. The LCD has cracked, touch screen doesn't work and the screen no longer lights up. On a separate but similar topic, the screen protector on the Defender still allows dust and lint to get through the opening the button used to turn the screen on. If we didn't have an additional albeit cheap screen protector on the phone the screen would also be very scratched. Needless to say, we will not be purchasing products from Otterbox again. The warranty that is offered is pointless to have if the phone ins't protected at all. Now that would be good customer service, to back up what your case should be protecting, Especially for the $65 we spent for the case to begin with, with the expectation that we wouldn't have to worry about the phone being damaged.

    I've had this brand with other iPhones, and wouldn't have considered any other product, until now. Very disappointed with this one. Because the film has an opening on the lower button, it allows moisture & debri to get underneath. The only way to clean it; which is way too often... Is to take it all apart. Not a quick thing to do. Very annoyed! Also hate that I have to keep the flap (that you open to put charging cord in).. Always open. Almost impossible to open, unless using a sharp or pointed object!!.. So I just let it stay open! Looks sloppy, but oh well!

    Does NOT Protect the Phone's Display

    I bought this Defender case to house my IPhone 5. In fact I bought the case prior to the phone. I figured it offered good protection at a good price. Sure it keeps the screen free of finger prints, protects the phone's body, etc. It does nothing to protect the screen. My 3 year old daughter took the phone and dropped it onto a tile floor from less than 2 feet. The screen shattered so although it's still functional it looks bad and is hard to read the display. Now I must pay another $800 for a new phone or hopefully I can get a new screen done at the apple store for $300. Either way I'm most displeased with this scenario.

    Best Buy refuses to swap broke two week old product for new one. last purchase I guess I'll make. Trying to get ahold of Otter has been a problem. Meanwhile a $60 product only deserves a one star for breaking in 2nd week. The design of bending plastic to release iPhone out of holder was not well thought out. I could barley push it open to release phone. Then during 2nd week it snapped off so doesn't hold phone. Just buy the case model and probably be okay.

    DO NOT BUY, Case damaged within one week

    I bought this case brand new with my phone for $50. After only a couple of days the backing started peeling off. It was incredibly annoying and after a couple of weeks the whole packing peeled off and ruined the whole exterior of the case. It's now hideous and I need to go buy a new case after already buying this one for $50. SEE PICTURE

    I have had the Otterbox on several different phones and none have lasted even a year before the rubber outer casing started to stretch or just completely wear out; even under very light use and being very careful where I put the case. Otterbox desperately needs to improve the materials. Sorry Otterbox, but I must tell it like it is.

    I had this case for about a month and the pink case picks up colors quickly. I had a white otterbox on my iPhone 4 and never had a problem with colors transfering to case. It appears otterbox changed material for this case. The volume buttons also started to peel after a few weeks. I will be returning my case to otter box.

    Horrible product that does not last

    I bought the holster and case for iphone 5. holster belt clip fell off in 6 weeks. Otter Box has terrible customer service and warranty. Three months later I have not received notice or acknowledgement of my submission. I called and received no action. I submitted photos as requested. No response. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!

    The cellphone cover I purchased already has a rubber cover. However, the Otter Defender protective case also has one and consequently, my phone will not fit and I have to return the Otter case and find a larger case. Hopefully, Best Buy will have one.

    Be caution!

    Got it from Best Buy today and have staff installed for me. I found plastic shell has crashed line after I went home. The product costs approximately $50.00, but the quality is not good. Be caution when you remove case for cleaning!

    Bad color for otterbox

    We hesitated to get me pink but best buy employee assured me it could be washed off. That is not true and It picks up every color it touches so it looks so ugly! I wanted to be proud of it. I want to bring it back and exchange it but doubtful bestbuy would exchange it after a month.

    Bought this for my daughter. She used it for three weeks and she decided the plastic cover kept the touchscreen function from working. The bottom of the hard plastic case broke across the bottom and the rubber case was not durable at all. Really a waste of money.

    Belt clip is very unreliable under normal use. I'm on my 6th otter box for my iPhone 5s and fourth for my iPhone 4s. On all, the belt hook failed at the hinge point on the clip side. Never dropped them, the plastic just breaks. Way overpriced for the low quality.

    The belt clip jammed in the open position the first week that I had the case. Of course this makes the clip worthless and I have no idea how to fix it. Also the phone controls are hard to use. For an expensive case I would expect it to work a lot better.

    This case has an inherent problem in that the holster (the belt clip itself) weakens with use and eventually breaks. I have had 4 in less then two years and will now be looking for an alternative as I'm tired of replacing a faulty product at my expense.

    phone case was fine; however I gave the phone to the worker and he pulled out the case that would fit. I purchased the case... took it home and it was the wrong case. The case did not fit the phone.

    This case is amazing!!! I'm always dropping my phone and it does a great job of protecting it from getting damaged. It has a rubber outer shell that makes it easy to grip but still smooth so it doesn't get stuck in your pocket when trying to pull it out.

    As soon as I clipped it on my belt it hit against the arm on the chair that I sat on and it broke. The cover might be ok and has protected my phone but I can not clip it on my belt. That has disappointed me quite a bit.
