I bought this for my 6th Gen iPod Touch even though this is for the 5th gen but it fits perfectly fine and I love it. I have used many other type of cases and this is by far the most durable, lightweight and great looking case in my opinion. I love this case so much that I ended up buying this type for my iPhone and Blackberry. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for the best protection for their new iPod touch, you won't regret it. See the photos for the perfect fit.

As a Harley rider and a police impound tow truck driver I need serious protection for my electronics. OtterBox provides that protection. I have never had any issues or problems with OtterBox products. I have bought OtterBox cases for iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 6plus, and now iPod. Great product!!!!

Otter case is great for kids in case it's dropped and great protection

Love it! I purchased this case to protect my 9 year-old niece new iPod Touch that she wanted for her birthday. Works very well with the Touch controls and Touch-screen. Worth the money while trying to protect your investment.

Needed something to protect my grand daughters i pod and otter box defender is the best there is. Next to my smart phone.

I priced matched this case so the cost was great and the protection for my itouch is superior to the case I had previously.

The Otterbox defender is a high quality nice fitting case. I knew it wasn't water resistant otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars.

I need to plug into various stereo systems as I teach aerobics at several gym locations and sometimes the in plug doesn't reach all the way inside the case so I need to take the case apart to plug it in. Eventually I'm afraid I'll break it like I did the previous one (I hope not!).

I'm a huge otter fan. Been rocking with them since back in the day. This cover looks and works awesome.

My only complaint is it makes the power button difficult to press otherwise a 5 star

The Otterbox Defender Series for ipod 4S consists of several parts. Two separate plastic pieces snap onto either end of your iPod. The piece that includes the front of the case includes a plastic, use-through screen cover. The piece that includes the rear of the case sports a felt liner to protect your iPod's backside from case-induced scratches. Snap those pieces together around your iPod, squeeze it tight to lock several tabs together, and you’re ready to put the silicon layer on. The silicon indeed feels soft and rubbery when it’s off your iPod, but once you stretch it over the case's plastic skeleton, the silicone feels surprisingly stiff. That’s neither complaint nor praise—the silicone simply feels like a smart way to protect the iPod from impact. I’ve tested many rugged iPod cases, and too often they're very difficult to get on or take off the iPod. The Defender offers a welcome respite from that common frustration. Once you know how, there’s nothing difficult or time-consuming about either process, and you don’t feel like your fingertips are about to snap off during removal. The Defender covers the iPod's Home, volume, and Sleep/Wake buttons with overlays of its own; each offers a satisfying use-through click. The case provides rubbery flaps to protect the iPod's headphone jack, Ring/Silent switch, and dock-connector port. I found the dock-connector port’s cover a bit fussy to lock into place when closing it, and it was annoying when it hung loose, though I got better at fastening it consistently over time. The other flaps worked acceptably The Defender ships with a belt holster that can double as an iPod stand for video watching. For protection, Otterbox recommends that you store your iPod in the holster with the screen facing in—unless of course, you're using it in stand mode, in which case you flip the iPod around and allow the screen to face outward. The rear of the case sports a circular cutout that reveals the Apple logo. I’m not a fan of this design choice, which is fairly common in iPod cases these days, but your preference may vary. I didn’t fear for my iPod in the slightest when it was in the Defender. The case is strong, snug, and secure, and as an added bonus, it’s not a nightmare to put on and take off. It’s a fine choice for iPod owners who fear dropping and damaging their iPod.

Fits and works great with my ipod touch, very durable and keeps out dirt. I've dropped it several times and holds up without damaging my ipod. I chose this over the Griffin Survivor case because its not as bulky.

I have already dropped my iPod several times and this case has been there to protect it with no problems, it is slim enough that it doesn't feel like a brick in my pocket and the port protecters are worth keeping on. Would have gotten 5 stars but the built in screen protecter attracts and clings on to dirt/lint/fuzz from the pockets and the iPod nee to be taken out of the case to clean the screen thing properly, taking it out every month or so is a pain and admittedly difficult

Purchased for my 8 year old son to protect his new iPod touch. Offers great protection without too much bulk. Feels comfortable and fits nicely in his hand

This case fits the iPod Touch perfectly and has proven to be excellent protection for my iPod having dropped it a couple times without sustaining any damage. It also make the iPod easier to handle.

You absolutely can't go wrong protecting your iPod with an Otter Box. I have used them on my other devices and never regret them! We even ran over my hisband's cell phone with his Toyota Tacoma and the phone wasn't damaged in the slightest. Drawback: I don't like the screen protector and I have to say I always take it off due to improper contact with the screen. It simply has too much space between the plastic cover and the screen. NOTE: If you remove it, you void your warranty!!! I wish they had options with no face like they do for cell phones. Buy one! You won't regret it!

I have come to expect nothing less than ultimate protection for my electronic devices when it comes to OtterBox. Once again, they come through with a reasonably affordable way to protect an (in my opinion) expensive iPod Touch. It has proven it's worth the expense twice now. Both times, my iPod was left undamaged and in perfect operating condition. Also picked up an Otter Box for my Samsung Galaxy S7.

I bought this case for my new iPod, and I like it a lot better than some of the other cases. It is easy to take apart, and I don't feel like I am trying to crack into a bank safe when trying to open it, and it seems like it would protect very well in a fall (although I haven't dropped it yet). It also comes with a screen protector, which is nice, so you don't have to go buy one of those too.

I bought this case after replacing my iPod Touch. The case is both stylish and durable and definitely gets the job of protecting my iPod done. I've already dropped the iPod twice and the case protected it from cracks or scratches. This is an excellent item for the price. Well worth it!
