    Nice Protection, but Buttons Don't Line up Exactly

    I had trouble with the buttons not lining up right out of the box. I would have to put some sideways pressure to get it to hit the buttons. I eventually took the screen protector out and used a glass shield protector with it. This still produced no good results. Eventually went with the i-Blason case. Not as good feel in the hands, but buttons are perfect.

    Yes, the Otter box case does provide excellent protection for my new S7 Edge but, it is a little difficult to press the side keys on the Edge.

    The Otterbox screen is hard to press through. Makes typing a challenge. Good protection though. Serves its purpose.

    Great case for the phone. I haven't had any problems with the case, easy to hold. The only problem is sometimes I have to push harder on the buttons when texting but some of that comes trying to type too fast.

    The otterbox case with the edge is terrible sometimes when it comes to touch sensitivity. Sometimes to get anything to respond I have to smash my finger down hard into the screen. The back and multitask buttons are too close to the case edge, and it takes some effort to use sometimes

    Great protection for my S7 Edge as this model carries over to the Otterbox legend. My only complaint is that the on/off button is hard to press. Maybe Otterbox should make it a little smaller to minimize the resistance.

    It has good protection of the phone. It is harder to type and is bulky. The cases I've had were slimmer but didn't cover the buttons. I like the belt clip for the phone.

    This is not my first Otterbox Defender for a phone I have purchased however it is the first one I am not completely satisfied with. It provides the protection needed but the buttons are very hard to press and the touch sensitivity is diminished when it comes to sliding down from the top and pinching to zoom in and out when using the camera. I have no issues with other cases on it or without a case at all. I still use it for protective reasons but a bit disappointed in this version.

    I have used Otter Boxes since my previous S-5. So, it is no surprise that it was my first choice. Some people have used other protection for their S-7 Edge with less than stellar protection. My only gripe is that when texting, I have to press a little harder in the areas of the 'a' , 'p' , &'space' buttons.

    Like who it feels in my hand but do not like how I have to flip open the charging port and headphone jack covers when I want to use them. taking a little while to get use to putting it in belt clip since it goes in differently then the other brand I hand for 4 years. doesn't slide down on the table like my other one when propped up against something. Touch screen seems a little hard to register when I push on some of the buttons because of the screen cover. Overall good case

    Ok case cover. Its durable and functional. However, the side buttons for volume dont work. The rubber exterior case buttons do not reach the actual phone buttons. Therefore, volume cannot be turned up or down. have to do it through phone settings.

    OtterBox for S7 Edge

    After owning more than a dozen OtterBox products over the last decade, this came out later than the phone. I returned it after two weeks, it was very difficult to access the buttons with one hand. It didn't like to sit on the inductive fast charger with the extra bulk. The design of the Edge is to blame for this overall. The other issue was with the protective cover on the Defender for the screen was the worst I have ever used. Great for protection but not possible to get accurate positioning near the edge of the screen.

    Protect your investment

    If you pay retail for an unlocked, no carrier bloatware phone and you tend to drop things, you definitely want to protect your investment. The Otterbox Defender not perfect, but it is very good choice. Having had a Defender on my S5 for several years, it was my first choice to protect my S7 Edge. The Defender affords protection for the phone body as well as the screen (no separate screen protector needed), and it fits very well. Importantly, it is designed to nicely accommodate the curved screen on the S7 Edge. . As to performance, I have already dropped the phone several times on hard surfaces, and it has worked like a charm. I saw someone posted that you have to remove the phone from the clip to access the charging port; however, nearly all of my charging is done in the clip. No access issue at all. On the downside: It is bulky when in the carrying case, but the trade off is the level of protection. Though the belt clip on the case appears to be just like the one on my S5 case, I find that this one tends to come loose more when bumped, which has caused some of my phone drops. On one of these occasions, the phone took a double hit; however, to the case's credit, the phone apparently was not hurt. Lastly, accessing buttons on the edge of the Edge screen is a bit of a challenge on occasion. Bottom line: In spite of the downside items, I would buy the Defender again, and I would surely recommend it to a friend. Were it possible to do so, I would have rated it a 4.5.
