I am prone to eye strain and needed a decent lamp to work on my art after dark. This lamp produces a wonderful bright light from the overhead lamp and the magnifying ring ling, and the versatile 3-in-1 configuration ability is so nice. The entire lamp much more lightweight than I was expecting, as it it made from a chrome-painted plastic rather than metal. The heaviest piece is the floor base. I mostly will use this lamp in the floor-standing configuration and I find it is sturdy enough. Although the main lamp body is extremely light, I do feel concerned about the lamp's durability when used with the clamp attachment, since this piece is also plastic. The lamp piece itself arrives in 1 piece. It comes with 3 separate configuration attachments, plus the lightbulb. Setup is easy in concept, but OttLite does have extremely helpful videos on YouTube to assist in setting up their products for first-time use. I really appreciated these since the in-box instructions are lacking in detail. The video instructor made it look very easy, but I found it was very difficult to snap the lightbulb into the shade, and it was also very difficult to snap the mdidle pieces together for the floor-standing configuration on my unit. I suspect my unit fits together more tightly than intended. The unit I received actually did not have the built-in USB port that is pictured on the stock photos, which was a little disappointing. It does have the 2 prong outlet, which will be handy for my sewing machine or glue gun.

Let me start by saying that my hobby is building desktop PC's. I bought this craft light to help me see the smaller electronic words on the motherboards. This lamp does that beautifully. I can clip a schematic or a pin reference on it. I use the magnifier to see the small and fine writing on the motherboard.
