I purchased this unit in Best Buy because they are a certified vendor and that is required to enforce the shock insurance. Is a very practical device, protect all my key audio devices at the time that provides a complete and armonious appearance.

So far, it’s working well. The Voltage readout alerted me to a big drop in Voltage from 118-120v to 113v-115v at the outlet when the Surround Processor, Amps and Subwoofers are turned on.

After connecting my ONKYO TXNR-809, BOSE 5.1 SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM, SAMSUNG 55"4KTV, SAMSUNG BLURAY PLAYER and other minor peripherals, the sound and picture r dramatically better!

If you have invested thousands of dollars in your electronics you really need this level of protection. Panama has been around for a very long time and has a well deserved and earned reputation for quality! This is the first time I've bought one and I'm very happy with the build quality. Spacing of the outlets is generous with filtering for digital and analog sources alike. This can be a big plus for people with delicate turntables and phono cartridges or just high end digital equipment. Match all this with their warranty and it's a bargain!

I've been happy with this Panamax. I've had it for a while now with no issues. I use it with my hifi system and TV normally although during a couple hurricanes last year when we lost power I hooked this up to my generator and ran all my electronics thru the Panamax. We have plenty of electrical storms and power outages here in Florida, I've not lost any products or damaged anything while using the Panamax. I guess it's working the way is was intended and built for. My music streamer does sound better when plugged into this other than just straight to the wall outlet. I have no idea if my other pieces of gear benefit in a performance way from this Panamax, but I it doesn't seem to be hurting anything either.

I bought this so that I could move the 4300 to another TV. II also needed the straight plug in cable and longer extension for where my units were in relation to the outlet. I realized that I also needed the extra space on the outlets on the Panamax. The power bricks come in larger sizes and offset plugs and it never seems to fit right where it partially covers the next outlet on the surge banks. Have not seen any issues with it turning off to protect but we have not had a lot of power issues in the last few years. This is a good upgrade to my new 4k Samsung JS6500 and Denon 2200. I really like that you can dim the front display and do have a tendency to watch the power level but not a real issue. Pricey but very happy!

Protects your gear and does it in an effecient, stylish & practical way. I.e. no clunky power strip behind your rig. This component piece makes power cord management a breeze. It’s a full size component, so make sure you have the room for it on your stand / rack. Eliminates speaker popping & hiss, television & cable noise. It filters everything. This replaces a bulky Monster power strip that died during a surge. (did its job, but no reset) Purchased the Panamax after reading nothing but glowing reviews about it and its predecessor.

I put a surround sound setup in a bedroom and was using two small power strips for my equipment. I really only bought this surge protector to better organize wiring and make things look better. The voltage display can be interesting yet is annoying at night but it can be turned off. I live in LA and am not likely to see any lightning anytime soon, but it seems to be a solid surge protector and these can cost upwards of $400-500 more at high-end audio places.

I guess it's not really a valid review until the thing has actually protected a power surge, which thankfully I have not yet had. BUT i got a great deal on it on sale with a price match (which BestBuy honored) and I feel WAY better with my $2000 tv and $1000 AVR and other components plugged into it. it looks pretty sexy with the blue display and all that. After reading the many great reviews from people that have actually witnessed it doing its job during a surge, I had no hesitation picking this up

Just expanded our home theater so I needed more outlets and better protection to my home theater since my 13 year old reliable Panamax 4300 is not enough, so I went with the Panamax MR5100, with good reviews for a better price. And it did deliver as expected, much better picture and sound. No regrets here, money well spent. Getting it from BestBuy with price match, made the purchase more valuable.

If you are going to drop a ton of money on a home entertainment system then don't con yourself into believing that a simple power strip will protect your investment. Now, will better power protection and conditioner products make the blacks blacker and the whites whiter on your new 75" flat screen? I personally think that is a bunch of marketing BS. But I do believe that having a power sentry standing guard over my sweet sweet system is a wise move. Recently, I replaced my home theater receiver and subwoofer with something more substantial. I currently own a Panamax PM-5300 protecting this investment and have been quit satisfied with it's performance. However, I found myself with an opportunity to build out a much needed second entertainment system for another room. Knowing that I was only interested in 2.1 stereo sound for this new system I quickly came to realize that I didn't need another PM-5300. So I chose the MR-5100. The main reason I chose this item over the PM is because the PM only has two high current plugs where the MR-5100 has four. My plan is to go dual subs with the stereo, simply because I can, which means I need three high current plugs; one for each sub and one for the receiver. The MR-5100 fits easily into my old JVC stereo rack from the 1990's. All of the ports are clearly marked as either always on or switched. I do switch off the power to my equipment when not in use to negate the added expense associated with vampire power draws. The front facing switch is convenient for this task. It also brings the different ports online in a mindful manner. Instead of simply delivering full power to all ports simultaneous, the MR-5100 will deliver power to the switched ports in a phased approach that ensure that the high current products get what they need first and then bring everything else online. The same is true for turn off. The front voltage gauge is a nice to have but not required. This can be dimmed or completely turned off. I also like the front facing power port. This port has proven very convenient for those times that I'm using a tablet, cell phone, laptop or some other device for streaming music. The port allows me to perform these activities while not drawing on the battery. This way, when I'm done streaming, my tablet or other device is ready to keep serving me. The alternative is to draw power directly from the wall. I get the added benefit of the power protection while my precious portable device is juicing up and serving me. I know that there are much better, and more expensive products on the market, but this item does server the needs of my small stereo system.

We bought this due to its reputation. We live in a rural area where we have power outages often. Have lost TV's with power strip protectors and needed to do better. Had a Monster brand once and it hummed so loud. This unit is quiet and looks nice. I like the plug on the front for quick easy access to power. The only negative is the light on the front. I wish you could dim it or turn it off. It is VERY bright and lights up the room when everything is turned off.

I purchased this product after gradually upgrading my 2-channel stereo system components. I have always used surge protectors but after gradually investing in new components that are bordering on high-end, I wanted something more than just a normal high-joule surge protector. This product fits the bill - it is easily hooked up, has plenty of outlets, and the display is very easy to read. I have not experienced any type of major electronic event so I can't attest to whether it does what they claim, but I still feel safer having a higher level of protection for my audio gear. I currently have a Cambridge Audio Azur DAC, Azur streamer, and Azur integrated amp connected as well as a Marantz CD changer, TEAC cassette deck, Pro-Ject turntable, Bluesound streamer, Sonos Connect, and an AV switch. All are stable and seem much more "noiseless" when operating which I attribute to the power conditioning aspect of this protector. I am very happy with the purchase.

I have always been a fan of Panamax. They are amazing power banks. The warranty they carry and just overall power conditioning and protection is top notch.

GOOD PRODUCT I can trust this brand to protect my audio equipment from lightning strikes and surges

While I had surge protectors before, the Geek Squad recommended this one. I have spent nearly $10000 recently to upgrade our audio/video system in our house. It was 15 years old and technology has changed. With such expensive components, I wanted to be sure everything was protected.

We recently lost our TV, TiVo, and receiver in a lightning storm power spike. The next day we went to Best Buy and picked up this surge protector. Wish we bought it the day before!!! So far so good. Love how it looks and the fact that it protects our new devices thru the powerline, cable, and network cat 5 line.

I bought Panamax - 11-Outlet Surge Protector - Black from best buy few months back. There are no issues with this unit since the purchase, there were few power outages, thunderstorms in my area but no impact to the electronics. Best customer service was great, this unit was price matched with Amazon. Sales manager had little trouble price matching it because of the system issues but finally was able to work around it. He not particularly happy because the system would not allow, but the BestBuy.com website claimed this item was guaranteed price match so he honored it.

I was going to get an expensive surge protecter and Ryan said this would be a much better idea for my needs. Because it does more than just protect my television and sound system. I did not know this product existed!

Purchased after losing receiver and TV in lightening storm. So far seems to be working fine but won't know for sure until there is a power disruption. Gives me comfort that equipment won't get fried again.
