Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the air fryer and ease of use as top features of the HomeCHEF CD87KS Multioven Microwave. Many appreciate its multiple functions, including the microwave, broiler, and convection capabilities, but some find the controls require a learning curve and the appliance is noisy. The stainless steel finish is visually appealing to many, although it is prone to fingerprints.

    Great Panasonic Microwave Convection

Have not tried airfryer yet but microwave and convection oven is really nice. Easy set up, directions in manual are very good, looks real nice, cord is a little short and we have it sitting high on microwave cart so it did not reach outlet. We had to improvise a little. Counter top would be ok. Convection is 1000 watts so be careful not to overcook or bake your food too long. Takes getting use to. Size is good both outer and interior.

So far I absolutely love this oven! It looks great, I have used many of the features and in the near future I will be using more. I really feel I will have years of great cooking. It fits under my cupboards neatly. Nice roomy size inside for larger dishes. Easy to clean. I love the reheat option. I am looking forward to the air fryer and the convection bake. I have a lot to learn and try out!

My Samsung microwave broke all of a sudden where it stayed on even when the door was open. I checked to see if it's a simple replacement of the door latch switch, but didn't seem so. And after doing some research, I selected this Panasonic because of the multi-function. We could get rid of our toaster oven, and all our friends had said that we should get an air fryer. I ordered it online and did a curbside pickup. That experience was HORRIBLE. If you want the experience of waiting in the BestBuy parking lot for two hours wondering where your product is and then going inside and waiting in line for 30 minutes, go ahead. It would have been MUCH quicker to just go in the store and just buy what I want, rather than doing curbside pickup. This microwave does a REALLY good job microwaving. The food gets heated very evenly and it seems efficient. The air fryer functionality as well as the convection oven works great. I haven't tried the broiler. The only downside is that the fan stays on to cool down the microwave, which I understand. But it is kind of loud. And it's confusing to know that the cooking is done, but to keep hearing the fan going. I recommend that you buy this microwave. It's a good microwave, and I'm happy with the performance. I recommend that you buy it online for delivery from a South American Rainforest online store. Or any other store other than BestBuy. Again, unless you like hanging around at a BestBuy parking lot.

We didn’t want another appliance sitting on the counter taking up space so when we found this combination we were thrilled. The air fryer and microwave were what we wanted but the broiler and convention oven makes it a one-stop preparation area in our kitchen. We never turn on the oven anymore to bake cookies or brown the top of Mac-n-Cheese. It’s large so it can handle a full size pizza. Read the manual. Pressing the center knob offers lots of combinations like air fry then broil or different wattage for the microwave. It might seem a little pricey until you realize all the appliances your getting.

An oven that works - properly

I have had this oven for around a year now, and can say this is an oven that works properly. It's so nice to see in a product. For example, the bake function will reach proper oven temperatures needed for real baking rather than say browning. Few small ovens will do this. There are many great features, one of which is sequential programmed cooking cycles. This is where you can program up to 3 cooking steps, such as microwave for 5 mins, and grill for 7. One of my favorites, is to program a 100 watt microwave cook for about 15 mins, followed by Air Fry for 8 mins. This cooks salmon to perfection, evenly cooked, and evenly browned for both the thin parts and the thick parts. It matches professional chefs for excellence it is that good. The 100 watt setting on the microwave means you can microwave the fish in the airfry basket so you just set it and forget. At that power level there is no danger from metal shorted turns or arcing. Please be careful to not increase the power level beyond 100W (the lowest) however when microwaving in the airfry basket. The 2 combo settings are good too. All around, it is a very versatile oven that works extremely well. The build quality seems top notch. Very much recommended. Salmon (2-stages): Microwave 15 minutes at 100W > Airfry 8 mins.

After replacing our OTR Microwave and desire to have a product which have all - Microwave , Oven , Air Fryer, This product does that , no complain on Microwave, Air Fryer so far. I have not used too much of Conventional Oven too much except few times baking cookies. It's definitely noisy when u turn it, fan is powerful so it runs fast to cool the inside so you can easily switch between different functions. Need to explore this product more and usually, this takes time . There are not too many products which have 4 functions in 1 so this does have advantage.

    Microwave Interferes with my WiFi

This would be a five star review except for the weirdest problem I've ever encountered with a home appliance. This microwave interferes with my wi-fi. I have tested it multiple times. During cooking in the "microwave" setting, the oven generates enough interference to cause the TV on my dining room WiFi to buffer. Have I proven it's the microwave? Yes, I have, by putting food in a defrost cycle, where the cooking cycles on and off (which you can hear,) and each time the microwave cooking cycle kicks in, my WiFi buffers on my TV. The airfryer is fantastic. Have used it multiple times for everything from pizza rolls to french fries to chicken breasts. The broiler worked good for garlic toast, too. I love the design and the functionality and the knob... ...but it interferes with my WiFi... I've had to get accustomed to making dinner without the news on TV.

Not Perfect but Better than the Alternatives

Bought this as a replacement for a returned Breville, and between the two, expectations have changed regarding what is delivered with current microwaves. The microwave function is overall the best feature. It's 1000 watts and has an inverter, so it will change how you use a microwave. Things heat faster and more thoroughly on full power than with lower watt microwaves, and on lower settings (50% for example), it is always on, not alternating so better performance when not on max power too. Time to heat is much better than with the similarly prices Breville model. Convection oven is decent and likely as good as any brand/model. The heating elements are not exposed so don't get spattered, setting it apart from many brands. Still, though, the elements do not fully cover the interior of the oven or even the turntable, so as items turn during cooking, they are under the elements some times and not others and different areas of what are being baked are under it a different percentage of the time. Times to cook are pretty close to what food/recipes say, so its not bad, just not spot on either. There is a 425 degree limit to temperature settings, so be aware that 450 isn't an option. It's also under explained wither to use the pedestal wire rack all the time or not and where in the oven the temperature probe is. The airfry function is essentially convection oven without the temperature control and then adding more run time of the fan. It is somewhat disappointing, but better than what Breville's model did despite Breville allowing you to adjust the temperature during airfry. I've used the airfry, but usually stick to just convection or mix microwaving with some convection time. Some of the presets sound great, but I've not found any that are really good. The pizza setting, for example, has undercooked some brands and over-cooked others so its unclear what it was calibrated for. Using presets means constantly consulting the book, but overall there are better options than Breville offered, despite the less fancy display. The buttons used to select options are ok. To pick different power levels, you press the microwave button multiple times, and similar for selecting convection oven temperatures. It would be nice if the dial worked to cycle through the levels or the options once a mode button was pressed. A screen change for a more LCD type look with lists to cycle through would be a plus, too, but its very usable the way it is. If expectations are kept in check for the convection and airfry features, this model is good and outdoes the competition. The bundled feature set seem to geared more toward occasional use than full replacements for an oven or separate appliances, but that seems on-par with other brands. There is room for improvement, but this model is above other brands for delivery showing that no combination oven is really exceptional or "excellent" at the present tie, so when considering options, keep this one at the top of the list.

First off, cons not included, this is a great sysytem. We use the oven setting all the time and the sensor cooking is pretty good as well. BUT, when using the oven setting it makes a very loud noise while heating up. It does go away but its pretty bad. It also isnt shielded the best. By that I mean it interferes with signals. When using the microwave, wifi gets wonky, and bluetooth will cut in and out. Some may not notice it but i have an alexa in the kitchen that will cut out until the microwave is no longer in use. I cant connect to anything on my phone if i am in the kitchen and any headphones (wireless) that I am wearing, will also cut in and out.

Hello Tyler! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're happy to hear that you're enjoying the oven and sensor cooking features of the NN-CD87KS microwave. We also appreciate your honest thoughts on the noise during the oven setting and the interference with signals. Your insights are incredibly helpful, and we understand how that could be disruptive. If interference is present, increase the spacing distance between the microwave oven and other product receiving the interference, and plug the microwave into a different outlet from the other product receiving the interference. Thank you again for your review, and we hope the rest of your experience with the product continues to meet your needs! -C Panasonic

So far it’s been great. Smaller exterior footprint and larger interior than our last microwave/convection combo and the air-fryer is a bonus! Every function I’ve used seems to work great from ice cream thawing to air frying. Cooling fans are on the loud side and stainless open button is a fingerprint magnet. Those are the only negatives I’ve noticed so far. The dial in place of numerical buttons is actually a pretty cool feature once you get used to it. Would recommend.

Excellent microwave convection oven with just a couple of flaws. One is the interface: It's a bit quirky compared to the usual keypad. You'll get used to it, but still not love it. The other is the air fryer mode: It's just not as good as a stand alone air fryer or the Breville toaster oven. That said, if it's are you have room for, it works well enough. The microwave, convection, and broiler functions are top notch. Especially the inverter microwave. It'll slow cook without the over cooked edges and raw interiors that plague the other types of power control schemes. Too bad there are only a few power settings though. Lastly, the autocook function is so-so. It's probably better than others, but I never use it. I can guess (or follow package directions) and get better results. Lastly, there's the steep price. Yeah, it's up there. But, if you like even cooking, and do more than reheat your coffee, it's worth it.

So far so good. Although, we haven't yet tried the air fryer feature, the microwave and convection bake settings work very well - no cold spots, etc. Also like the internal size which is roomy and useful, although a little large on the counter as far as outer dimensions. A little noisy, but really is just background noise. Turntable jumps from time to time which might be user error......All in all, we are appreciating this appliance.

I did not want 4 more appliances. This was replacing my older white counter top Panasonic microwave and convection oven. I wanted something that could do atleast what my last one did and also more. I love the broil function. I have tried the air fryer a few times. The basket is super easy to clean. The only down side is not fitting a 13 x 9 inch pan as my last one did, but I have a larger oven for that. The convection works great just had to play with the time a bit to adjust for cookies. I do like the free drop app, but they need more recipes for this appliance and for gluten free. The microwave is easy enough for my kids to use and it stays clean easily. I love the way it looks and he option to silence the beep. It is nice it has an automatic cooling function. Really a million times better than my last microwave but this does more!
