Customers are saying
Customers frequently mention the air fryer and ease of use as top features of the HomeCHEF CD87KS Multioven Microwave. Many appreciate its multiple functions, including the microwave, broiler, and convection capabilities, but some find the controls require a learning curve and the appliance is noisy. The stainless steel finish is visually appealing to many, although it is prone to fingerprints.

Panasonic 4-in-1 gets an A+ rating in early going
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. Although, we haven't yet tried the air fryer feature, the microwave and convection bake settings work very well - no cold spots, etc. Also like the internal size which is roomy and useful, although a little large on the counter as far as outer dimensions. A little noisy, but really is just background noise. Turntable jumps from time to time which might be user error......All in all, we are appreciating this appliance.

Great 4-1 system!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced an ancient microwave we were gifted when moving, and it was not new when we moved. This microwave (and air flyer, broiler, convection, and inverter) works very well with all the listed functions. I would offer this device to any looking for a 4-1 system.

way more than a microwave
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not want 4 more appliances. This was replacing my older white counter top Panasonic microwave and convection oven. I wanted something that could do atleast what my last one did and also more. I love the broil function. I have tried the air fryer a few times. The basket is super easy to clean. The only down side is not fitting a 13 x 9 inch pan as my last one did, but I have a larger oven for that. The convection works great just had to play with the time a bit to adjust for cookies. I do like the free drop app, but they need more recipes for this appliance and for gluten free. The microwave is easy enough for my kids to use and it stays clean easily. I love the way it looks and he option to silence the beep. It is nice it has an automatic cooling function. Really a million times better than my last microwave but this does more!

Panasonic HomeChef is a "family pleaser".
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This microwave is light-years better than the units from years past. It works really well; so far, we've used it as a microwave, broiler, and air-fryer; haven't tried the bake function yet. We're still experimenting with how long to air fry certain foods, but getting better with practice :) We do know that some foods (frozen snacks - pigs in a blanket, etc.) cook more quickly in the Panasonic HomeChef unit than in a regular oven and turn out crisper too. Note, that to use the air-fry function, there are three pieces to use. First is a round metal tray to catch any grease/drips/crumbs, and that sits on the glass spinner. Second is a metal stand with legs; it provides a several inches of space above the metal tray, and which you then put the wire mesh tray on top. The food goes on the wire mesh. That's all well-and-good, but when you are not using the microwave function, those three pieces need to be stored "somewhere". The air-fry parts take up a fair bit of space, about 6.5" of height, because the legs on the stand do not fold down to conserve space. (Hey, Panasonic folks: if you're reading this, take it as a possible product improvement - make the stand have fold-down legs that can lock in the upright position, please) Not everyone has an 18" wide drawer base that is at least 7" deep that they can dedicate to just these three items. That's why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that - our family is really pleased with the unit overall.

Overall a versatile appliance
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had for a year now, and am basically happy with it, but it does have some shortcomings. The microwave is not super powerful, but gets the job done. It is very loud though and has a cooling feature that I have never experienced before. It seems like it is still running after it has stopped. The Air fryer seems like it doesn't work at all to me. No way to select a temperature and takes forever to cook anything so don't buy it for that feature. It does bake pretty well which is invaluable to me on a holiday because I have a smaller than normal oven. This allows me to cook side dishes while the main item is in the oven. For this alone I would recommend it. Controls are not the easiest to use. To select a temperature you have to keep hitting the button over and over until you see the desired number instead of being able to put a number in, but you get used to it. Overall I am pleased, I just wish the air fryer was better. That would have made it a home run.

Buy a Panasonic CD87KS 4-in-1 Multioven Microwave!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a microwave. It is a 4-in-1 Multioven Microwave. It is amazingly engineered! It works extremely well - all four (4) of the ways it functions: as an Airfryer, as a Broiler, as a Convection Oven as well as a Microwave. Note the 1.2 Cubic Foot inside space and the 1000 Watts of power (which can be adjusted downward - if desired).

Panasonic: the Genius Oven
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new Panasonic 4-in-1 oven, The Genius, is very easy to use. The instruction manual is well-written and easy to understand. At the end of the microwave function, it allows you to add time, if you can see that the food still needs cooking. I was not looking for the Airfryer feature but I am glad that I have it. I rarely use my gas stove anymore, I have another Panasonic microwave/convection oven in another apartment and I like it very much which is why I chose Panasonic for this oven.

Performing well.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is performing well. There was a bit of a learning curve as it is very different than our last one. The first thing to memorize is what to do when the oven locks. We had a power failure and had to redo the commands.

Posted .Hi there! Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear the microwave is performing well, and appreciate your patience with the learning curve. The locking feature is designed with safety in mind, and it’s good to know you’ve become familiar with how it works after the power interruption. We hope it continues to serve you reliably. - S

Good machine.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well made. looks good and performs well. Have used all of the functions and all work reasonably well. Can't really expect the air fryer to be as efficient as a dedicated air fryer but it does the job and obviously saves space. One picky negative: The display is hard to read unless you're close by and looking straight on.

Great 4 in 1 microwave
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Panasonic 4 in 1 microwave replaces 3 kitchen appliances the air fry option works great and expertly fry’s your food in a healthy way the convection oven cooks fast and consistently keeping you away from your traditional oven and the broiler features crisps and cooks your food evenly and thoroughly and the keep warm features in the microwave is a blessing in disguise as well as the cooling feature is too cool

Great Combo Microwave - Is noisy though.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking to save some space on your countertop, this is likely the way to go. I've mainly used the microwave and air fryer settings, but both have worked great so far. It is complicated to learn at first since most things are buried in a menu, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to use then. The cooling fan is super loud, so that might be a downside to some people, but I imagine it needs to vent a lot of heat for all the different modes.

Does just what it claims
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have really enjoyed this Home Chef multi-oven. My wife and I are empty nesters, so this not only heats up food but is a great air fryer and convection oven. It does just what they claim. There are a few parts that have to be cleaned after using the oven part but that is not a deal breaker.

Easy to use, incredibly useful
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, bought this item because it fit the space my old one left. Don’t know how I thought any other microwave I’ve owned was good after using this one. My old microwave had convection and I knew I needed that (pie making), but now I also have an air fryer and broiler. This microwave seriously does everything! AND it doesn’t sacrifice quality for diversity. I have been having great fun experimenting and love how easy it is to use.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love it! I replaced a 38 year old Microwave/Convection Combo oven. I have wanted to purchase a Panasonic combo oven ever since they developed the converter technology and decided that the features and the price were right. I have mainly used the microwave and air fry functions so far and I am pleased with the performance. One tip: Follow the instructions in the manual for air frying, not the instructions on the package. I read many comments about the buttons and dial and that concerned me enough that I had to deliberate for a month or so before deciding to buy this oven. The worrying was unnecessary. We loved using the number keypad on the old oven, which is why we waited so long to replace it. We have found the buttons and dial on the Panasonic to be very easy to use after 38 years of using the keypad. My wife uses the Sensor Reheat often to heat up a can of chili or something similar. I have used it a few times to reheat a casserole or soup. We both love that feature. Panasonic must have found a way to make the LED light brighter as it lights up the interior and the food quite well. I have used the "Popcorn" function a few times and was pleased with that. My only complaint is that it does so many things that I occasionally wish we had two so we could microwave and airfry at the same time. The manual it comprehensive and includes pictures and charts to help understand and use the various features. I was concerned about when and why to use the ceramic tray, the stand and the airfry basket. I found one place in the manual that explains that the ceramic tray is to catch drippings and is used on top of the stand for foods that are too small to sit on the rack for broiling or browning. Otherwise it sits under the stand. The airfry basket is used for that purpose only. It may not be "perfect", but I believe that it is a good value for the price. Almost 39 years ago be bought a very nice combo oven for about the same price and it has far fewer features.

Good combo appliance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far it’s been great. Smaller exterior footprint and larger interior than our last microwave/convection combo and the air-fryer is a bonus! Every function I’ve used seems to work great from ice cream thawing to air frying. Cooling fans are on the loud side and stainless open button is a fingerprint magnet. Those are the only negatives I’ve noticed so far. The dial in place of numerical buttons is actually a pretty cool feature once you get used to it. Would recommend.
