Unable to turn off the child safety lock!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve read the manual and watched all the youtube video and pushed all the magic numbers suggested on other sites and this thing just keeps locking! I get it’s great for littles to be safe, but we don’t need or want it on! You heat something and it locks every single time! Its the same as our last one that was 6 yrs old and we loved it so we got the new version! We hate this new lock situation that you are unable to turn off! Will return!

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback with us! Starting March 2024 the Federal law requires microwave ovens to be equipped with an electronic child safety door lock function. The unit also comes with separate instructions on how to turn it off. -M

Bad applance, worse customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I advise people not to purchase any Panasonic products, specifically appliances such as microwaves. In my experience the products are defective and the customer service is horrible. Specifically, the first time I unplugged the microwave from the outlet, the grounded prong from the plug stayed in the outlet. The whole prong. It came out of the plug. It didn't break off, it just wasn't connected to the plug or power cord. Accordingly, the microwave is unsafe and can't be used. This might be either a manufacturing or a design defect. Efforts to address this matter with Customer Service have been frustrating, painful, and futile. I emailed Customer Service an explanation of what occurred and then sent photos of the damaged plug and prong and the e-receipt as a pdf document. Panasonic Customer Service responded that I needed to send the receipt as a photo and that the only service option is to take it to a Panasonic authorized repair center. I emailed back with the requested photos of the e-receipt, but explained that taking the microwave to an authorized repair center wasn't a reasonable solution because the closest authorized repair center was almost 100 miles and over an hour and a half away. The round-trip would take over 3 hours, be almost 200 miles, and I'd have fuel and toll costs, plus wear and tear on the vehicle. Further, since the repair center doesn't fix it while you wait, I'd have to do another round-trip to pickup the microwave. In total this would entail driving almost 400 miles, over 6 hours, plus fuel, tolls, and wear and tear on my vehicle. That is simply not a realistic option. I suggested that in the alternative, Panasonic: 1) provide mailing labels to ship my microwave to the authorized repair center and then back to me once repaired. 2) authorize a local repair shop to fix the microwave at Panasonic's expense or 3) send me a replacement microwave of similar size and quality, especially as local repair shops have said it's cheaper to replace the microwave than to repair it. I received no response from Panasonic. A few days passed, still no response. I emailed again. No response. Since I've received no response to my emails, I'm left with no choIce but to pursue available legal remedies including filing complaints with state and federal agencies and/or filing suit. I will also be sharing this experience on social media as a cautionary tale, warning people of the negatives and risks associated with purchasing Panasonic products. Congratulations, you've turned a customer against you. .

Error in turntable size in Specifications
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy advertises that this model has 16.5 inch turntable, but Panasonic's website says the correct size is actually 13.5 inches. The interior cavity mesurements confirm that the larger size wouldn't even fot inside; Evaluate accordingly!

DO NOT BUY. PAY ATTENTION TO WARNINGS.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I had listened to previous reviews. Microwave worked for 3 weeks. Just enough time to make it non-returnable to Best Buy. Does Best Buy really think a microwave should have a 3 week lifespan? Apparently. Now I don't have a microwave - a problem I thought I solved by shopping at Best buy. To get this piece of junk fixed I have to take it to a a service center. How convenient?? Best Buy this is on you. Will never shop here again.

Disappointed in microwave and in Panasonic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this microwave and the display does not work. I contacted support and they wanted to charge me $5 just to talk to me! The microwave is constructed poorly and the company encourages people NOT to contact them. I will take this one back, and buy another brand.

Buy if you don't mind a burning plastic smell
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Burning plastic smell. I bought one of these units about 2 weeks ago and used it for about a week and the burning plastic smell just never went away. Had to bring the unit out in the garage to air out the kitchen ea time. Also unit was about 20% underpowered so I figured a bad unit and returned it. Second one, same exact problems. It's going back too. Panasonic quality has definitely gone down.
