    Quality Microwave

This microwave is a great size. Is very powerful and cooks both solids and liquids thoroughly. Also, very quiet. I like the quick minute feature. The only thing missing is an internal light...but not that important of a feature for me personally. This is my second black microwave and this one doesn't show the dust and dirty prints as much as my previous model.

My 10+ year old microwave suddenly quit and I needed a replacement. I had purchased a Panasonic previously so I knew the quality. I was surprised that this unit had 1200 watts and still had a small footprint. In fact it is smaller than the 1000 watt unit it replaced. I also love the sensor reheat option. It makes heating left overs easy!

I recently purchased this Panasonic microwave after my first and only microwave stopped working. When I checked the age of it, it had lasted 26 years!!! I went to Best Buy and bought the "modern age" model of my old one. It has the stainless steel look and works very similarly to the old one, just more efficient, with more ways to heat and defrost. I am very happy with it!

Nice size for me. Easy to use, like the "keep warm function", the popcorn function works great. Better than the one that it replaced.

Have only had the microwave for two months, but the build quality and performance is excellent. I understand that there are a couple of Chinese manufacturers who make all brands of microwaves now,....that they are lower priced overall....and that expected life might only be 3-4 years.....so I purchased the extended warranty. Also purchased the trim kit! So far so good!

This is an excellent microwave. Panasonic patented technology really does work better. It heats food quickly and evenly. The panel is easy to read and to operate. I can cook at multiple levels and times, just like the package directions tell me. The microwave is a great size and I love the stainless on black design. I do miss the light-on when the door opens.

So far we have been satisfied with the performance of this microwave. Beyond the basic timer mode, we have used the sensor cooking feature and that has worked very well. Although this microwave has the same internal capacity as our previous microwave, the external dimensions are significantly smaller, giving us some much needed counter space. Because the interior light only works when the oven is operating and the display screen can sometimes be difficult to read, I have given this oven a 4 instead of a 5.

Makes only a third of the sound as my old microwave. The only drawback is the end timer is the same way. If you're in the other room you may miss hearing it. Digital display is very clear without the massive amount of unnecessary glowing. But for some, the square digits may be difficult to read from far away. I only say this because some people do use their microwave as a kitchen clock. You can easily see what's going on while cooking. My old microwave's door grid didn't allow detailed viewing. Everything seems to cook quite efficiently. Usually there's a little wiggle room when a package says, "Cook for this long". But so far everything is done as directed. Con: Light doesn't come on when door is opened. This isn't an issue for me. But I've seen other people posting reviews where it was.

I probably should wait another 6 months or more but after 2 months I must say it's worked out perfectly for us. The size is perfect for reheating a plate of leftovers or cooking vegetables / potatoes / etc. I like the feature where it knows how long to reheat on it's own. One of the drawbacks I'd read about when I did my research concerned the inside light going off when it was finished cooking. I don't see how that's a problem. I did intensive research reading reviews all over the internet on every brand. I mean I spent days but I love that sort of thing - God bless the internet. The only drawback to be aware of is that on the white and black models of this microwave the door can be a little difficult to work. Nothing serious but it doesn't seem to be as much of a problem on the stainless steel one. I understand they've pretty much corrected that this year anyway. I experienced what they were talking about while opening and closing the floor model but it would not have stopped me from buying this. Anyway the door is no problem on our stainless steel one. Perfect so far but so far is only a couple of months. As of now definitely worth picking up unless you really need way more cubic inches inside.

It is easy to use, works well, and looks good. It was also well packaged . All in all, I am satisfied with its performance. Also, It doesn't feel cheap and the button to open it doesn't stick. I also like that you can just press the buttons for the time that you want instead of having to hit a specific input time button or turn a dial or do some other form of annoying time wasting step. You just press 1-3-0 start for a minute 30. Exactly how it should be. I have been using it more and more, and it heats food quickly and evenly. I have had to adjust my microwave intuition (setting it for how much your food really needs) because it gets hot pretty quickly. Again, satisfied and would recommend! As always, please indicate if this was helpful.

Powerful, but interference and control issues

Bought this when my hand-me-down Panasonic (built in 1988) finally died. We have the black version in the office break rooms. Unfortunately the new glass turn table has a slightly different spindle diameter so I can't use my old one as a spare. Interference; when running this oven screws with AM radio for several feet - the old one never did this. FM appears unaffected. In the office the ovens would confuse the Bluetooth keyboard & mouse in an adjacent conference room. Control issues; I understand Panasonic's Inverter technology to be an advanced method to use fractional cooking power. It is therefore odd that the old oven's 6 power levels were set by pressing 1 of 6 buttons and the level was displayed on the LCD - but this NEW oven accesses its 10 power levels by requiring multiple presses of a single button (to decrease power) and once selected does not display the setting on its LED screen. The oven defaults to full power. An issue for some is that the interior light is ONLY on while cooking, it does not come on when the door is opened. While I often like this (I don't want the light on while washing the turn table or airing the oven) it seems to annoy some. An option to have the light on while not cooking would be nice. And finally the door opens 90 degrees. This appears to be the standard among the ovens I saw, but it seems like the old oven opened a bit further (I wonder why there aren't any that are hinged on the right). The amount of force required to close the oven's door varies considerably among those at the office, buy mine closes as if it had been built by Swiss clockmakers.

So far I like this microwave. Doesn't take up much space but power of a big one. Like every other review..the downfall is no light inside, but realistically when do you heat up food in complete darkness? The auto sensor heat is awesome and pretty dead on each time, heats up food perfect. The only thing and this might of been me..was Defrosting frozen chicken ( kinda cooked it almost completely ) But again this could of been something I didn't read or pushed wrong..so I'm not gonna knock off any stars yet. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I've had this over a month now and don't have any real complaints. Others have said it's too loud but I don't think it's any louder than any other microwave I've used. It cooks very fast. Faster than my last microwave that was 1200 watts. I don't really use all the programming features. I usually just program it for a certain number of minutes and go. The only thing I wish it did was turn the light on when you open the door.

It might just be a little too good. It's a 1200 watt so it cooks faster than any other microwave I've used.. It takes getting used to because you need to change they way you usually cook. It's also a bit noisy when used and it's light does not come on when the door is opened. It's black and stainless steel finish make it look better and I should mention the stainless cleans very easily. It's small but still roomy enough to fit even large plates but the rotating plate has grooves in it that will only fit this particular microwave so be careful not to break it.

I have had this Micro for a couple months and have been very pleased. It warms up food very quick and the sensor mode doesn't allow the food to be overcooked resulting in food that tastes just like you made it the first time. It has everything you want in a micro and yes you don't have to worry about uneven temp with this micro which is a major plus. I don't have anything bad to say so far about this micro but I will address the two complaints that I heard before I purchased this micro. First it is a little louder than the normal micro but why does this matter unless you plan on taking a nap in the kitchen. The other was that there is no light inside to see your food. I find this rather silly since unless you are in the dark why do you need to see your food inside the micro? I know what it looks like going in and unless there is some sort of magic going on inside the micro I am pretty sure my food will look the same coming out lol

Normally I review products before I buy them, but this was a replacement for a microwave oven that was still under extended warranty (less than a month left), so I was not prepared when Customer Service told me to go pick out a new one. My last one was a GE with many features I really liked. This one is better in some ways: door-open button much easier to push (compared to actually moving the oven on the counter), and you don't need to push a button before entering time and start. I will have to double-check the wattage--I thought it was less than my old model, and it does seem slower. It has, of all things, a dedicated popcorn feature (I am not very interested in popcorn). The sensor cooking is more flexible, but it was easier to use sensor cooking/reheating on my old oven. And my old oven let me sensor-reheat beverages, and this one says not to do that . Sensor-heating beverages was probably the feature I used most often on my old oven. For some reason, the light does not come on when you open the door--just when it's running. And then, it's hard to see inside unless the room is dark. So when it's finished and you open the door to take your food out, it's dark again. Also, it beeps 5 times when food is done, and opening the door does not stop the beeping. On the other hand, if you don't get to it right away, it does not annoy you with a beep every 60 seconds forever, as my old oven did. Anyway, it seems to work fine, and it is plenty big enough for my needs (looks the same size as my old one, which was 1.4 cubic ft.). Oh, and it uses this fancy inverter technology, which is supposed to provide more even cooking than traditional cycling. I did get another extended warranty on it, but I hope this works without trouble for several years.

I am very pleased with this microwave. It heats and reheats evenly and quickly. The stainless steel front and silver case looks nice and it has a smaller footprint than my old microwave which was also 1.2 cu ft. It is easy to use. The sales associate at Best Buy was very knowledgeable and helped me decide to choose this model.

Cooks quickly -- when heating frozen dinners be sure to heat for the minimum suggested time. Light does not go on when door is open, which makes cleaning difficult. Touch pad has intuitive lay out. Loud when running, and occasionally vibrates, Acceptable drawbacks in this price range.

I probably would have given this microwave 5 stars if not for pretty minor things that I don't like. I won't even call them flaws. In fact I'd like to give this 4.8 stars but the ratings don't work that way. This is a powerful microwave. And it is smaller on the outside than others with similar capacity on the inside. It has a simple, clean key pad and not a lot of features that we will never use, but does have a lot of features we do use. My only two issues are that we don't seem to be able to use the microwave and the timer at the same time. If we are baking something in our conventional oven and using the timer on the microwave to time it, then we can't use the microwave without losing the timer. Maybe we haven't found that feature but the instruction manual doesn't say anything about it. The other issue is that the timer only beeps a few times and then stops when cooking is done. We have a busy house and at times could use a reminder that something is in the microwave. These are minor issues but important to us. If they are important to you then be aware. But also know that this is a really good product.
