    A Great Microwave...With Pitfalls

This microwave is HUGE. That is a big plus for me and my family. There is plenty of room to heat up multiple bowls of leftovers at the same time. Using the steam sensor, reheating is a snap, as it automatically stops when the food should be ready. It is a very good looking microwave, and would look good in just about any kitchen, especially one primarily featuring stainless steel. The touch screen also looks very cool. That said, the touch screen doesn't have numbers, save the for +30 seconds button. I do not like this. While I get that all of the icons are supposed to make setting a cook time easier, I much prefer manually entering cook times. I worry that any house guests I have may have a difficult time using this microwave on their own. In summary, the Panasonic Genius Prestige Plus is a stylish, powerful microwave, but it seems to have tried to fix problems that didn't exist with the icon based touchpad.

    A little too much technology...

Overall, this microwave has plenty of room to cook or reheat even large amounts of food or liquid. I like that the technology involved when you select a power level less than 100% is a steady amount of heat to the food as opposed to turning on and off like conventional microwaves. HOWEVER, while they've tried to think of everything, they've eliminated the simplicty of a microwave that I have come to rely on. If I know I just want to throw something in for 10 seconds or 15 seconds, it is not a simple task like it is with older microwaves. However, once you get past the learning curve, this will be your go to microwave for the foreseeable future.

So this Panasonic is replacing a 7 year old microwave. I didn't think there were would be a huge difference, but boy was I wrong. To begin with, make sure that you read all of the information that it comes with. Make sure you remove the blueish film that it comes with. I would also familiarize myself with the manual, because without reading it you can become frustrated. The reason for the frustration is that this microwave doesn't have a number pad, like your traditional microwave. If you don't adjust well to change, then I wouldn't recommend this microwave. We had no problems with the pad, but I can see how someone can. To me the big difference is how well the microwave heats your food up. It is much faster than my old one and more importantly it heats my food more evenly. I always had issues with the bottom of my food being not as warm as the top, but with this Panasonic that problem is gone. This microwave has improved the quality of my leftovers. I highly recommend this microwave if you are looking for upgrade on your microwave because of how well it reheats the food, but if you don't deal with change well (because there isn't a keypad), then you might rethink getting this microwave.

I have always been one to think that a microwave was just a microwave so my expectations for this one were pretty low. This definitely exceeded my thoughts. Cooks evenly and can handle simple tasks like reheating leftovers as well as more complex cooking needs. If you’re a micorwabe fan and

I've had this for about a month now and it's worked great, although there is a slight learning curve in regards to the operation. This is a really attractive microwave. I never thought in my life I'd be saying something like that. It has a really large interior and could shove some gigantic amounts of food in there. However, it is big. That can be great for some, not so great for others. Just keep that in mind. In regards to heating up food, the only comparison I have is with a 10-year old microwave and it heated up food I'd say about 20-30% faster which is a good improvement. The buttons are where I think there could be some improvement as they are all just icons and can be a little confusing - so it's a good idea to read through the manual thoroughly to understand what it can do. It's not a cheap unit either so that would be my other bit of feedback. But still, a great microwave. Does it's job and works great if you're OK with less-than-ideal usability.

When you think that there is no room for improvement... This microwave is really a high level piece of technology, changing everything already known about microwave. For some old people, it might be hard to learn how to use. I like technologies, I had to read the manual to get the most of it. Panasonic managed to maximize the interior space without making the unit any bigger. The interior LED light is very good. Looking good without emitting extra light. The fingerprint proof exterior is amazing. Unlike my old microwave, you never see fingerprints on this one. I don't know how they do it but I like it. It functions really well. The preset functions are really working good and not like some older models microwave. I have some functions that I daily use, The Panasonic is doing them well. Just the right way you would like to eat. Also, the way it works, it has a slow power drawing when it started. This another big plus.

A good microwave but not enough...

I like the microwave and it does a good job at microwaving food. The inputs are my only real complaint. It was not and is not very friendly when you can't see your buttons very well. The only complaint depending on how you want to use the microwave is the mounting kit is expensive. I would not want to look at this thing everyday so I would just be bothered I had to spend so much on it. Function wise, it does a great job and have had zero issues.

This microwave is elegant and functional. The features and style on this are unmatched by anything on the market today, that is for sure. It cooks food so differently than any other microwave that I have ever had, and it looks great in my kitchen. The touchscreen is a nice touch as well! The controls are a little different and take some adjustment but it is totally worth it!

    Poor product, terrible service.

We purchased this microwave in Dec. 2020, and installed it in April 2021 in connection with a kitchen renovation. In July 2022 it stopped heating and cooking food. Panasonic wanted to charge us $90 to even speak to a technician because the warranty had expired. The microwave failed after 15 months of service and Panasonic refused to even discuss it with us. I will never buy another Panasonic product.

This microwave quit working after 2.5 years. The part this is broken has a 5 year warranty from Panasonic however they simply will not help us. We have tried calling, emailing, online chat, etc and they just keep giving us the runaround. I would not recommend this microwave.
