Overall, been happy with device. My first blu-ray player. Plays blu ray and DVD just fine. The only issue is some DVDs when stopped during a movie to resume watching the next day has started back from the beginning. But this does not happen with all the DVDs we have played. Great picture. Small - fits under TV.

This is a great Blu-Ray/DVD player. I got it at Best Buy as an open box item. I needed one for my bedroom as I had never had one in there before. It has been quite awhile since I bought a DVD player and wasn’t expecting to find one this compact. It works great and setup was simple. Normally i wouldn’t consider Best Buy as they are so expensive but seeing this deal I happily went there and bought the player.

This unit is nice. The remote is easy to work with. The pictures are great.a lot of bang for your buck.Setup is easy and no problems at all.

All we needed was a Blu-ray player. This one does it well. We chose this instead of a really cheap player that can only 'upscale' to 1080. This one can play the newer 4K disc's. The 4K TV already has a crap ton of streaming apps, so glad to find this player does just what we need without bloatware apps. It has a front panel USB handy for showing pix and movies stored on a USB drive. It can navigate the folders on the drive, browse photos, or do a sideshow of the photos in a single folder. Control is direct and immediate. It does not make you wait while it searches the entire drive for photos. I did not see a way to zoom into a photo. This player allows control from our TV (via the HDMI cable). We can select the Blu-ray player using the TV remote, and then use the TV remote to control the player menus, play, pause, forward, reverse, good enough that we don't need to use the player's remote. The player can be placed for convenient access to the disk slot without regard for clear line-of-sight to the remote. Our TV is Samsung Q7FN series. Ask a BestBuy Geek if this will work with your TV. It's a nice feature. There is no wifi connection for this player. That's ok since the player does not do streaming. The player only needs internet for software update, and it's ok to temporarily stretch cables for that.

Money well spent! For the price I paid for this player it provides just what needed. The picture quality and Dolby atmos puts you definitely into theater mode. The only tiny thing I don’t like about this is the fact it doesn’t have the digital audio output it just have the orange optical. And yes it’s just basic! No Netflix and YouTube here but who needs that anyway. I have plenty of devices to replace for those apps. But all in all I love this player so far and I forgot to say how quiet the player is not like that loud garbage disposal Sony.

I looked for a simple, basic 4k player and this one fills the bill. It's very light and small, making it perfect to do double duty as a portable unit. Sound quality is superb, as is picture. Spool-up time is moderate. The only drawback is not having a digital audio-out. If you wish to connect audio to a seperate amp/receiver you'll need a separate, outboard HDMI A/V divider box (inexpensive and readily available). This only affects me when using the player outdoors with powered speakers along with a video projector.

Sure glad I kept the remote from my old one (on the right)! Apparently Panasonic intends this for the kid's room-very little kids-you know, with tiny little hands! And the old one has tv volume buttons! I found setting it up a little confusing, but it does what it's supposed to do with no bs!

Bought it as open box item. So far so good. Picture quality is great and yes the remote is pretty small which sometimes is hard to push a button,but no biggie. Not the highest end model with only hdr compatible, but I would think if your looking to get the best 4k player, you should also have the best 4k TV and sound system with it. Only downside is that it has no wifi so if there is an update, which would be nice to know, you would need a USB or connect thru ethernet wire to update, thus the reason its a 4 star rating.

This works great. Besides just being an UHD Blu-Ray player, the front USB port will also work with external hard drives. I rip my DVD and Blu-Ray collection down to hard drive for convenience, and I can attach my USB hard drive to the front port and watch the DVDs and BluRays through this player. The USB port on my TV will *not* support USB hard drives, only flash drives, so this was a nice discovery that this player works with USB hard drives.

Upscales Blu Rays that aren't just DVD copies nicely. Don't expect Walmart bargain bin titles to look amazing. They will look like trash. My 4k movies are amazing and it is the sole reason I bought this. If you have 4k and have some favorite titles you want to own, DO IT. Stream sites can brag about their 4k all they want and XFINITY and GOOGLE can brag about their 4k streaming power but nothing can beat a physical player.

I wanted a cheap 4k player, and when on sale, this fits the bill. The interface seemingly hasn't changed from Panasonic dvd players from 15 years ago, but if that keeps the cost low, it's good enough. The lack of Dolby Vision is a performance limitation to be aware of, but wasn't a deal breaker for me. There aren't any streaming media apps, but those end up being abandonware more often than not on dvd players anyway; everyone already has a smart tv and/or streaming stick of their choice that does this better, it's better to keep the disc player simple.

It does the job. If you want something that looks super fancy or has all the “bells & whistles” this is not the product for you, but if you just want a dvd, blue ray, & 4K player that works and works well then this is the one. I was frustrated when shopping for a 4K player because all the other ones had so much extra stuff! Netflix, Hulu, YouTube etc. I just wanted a dvd/blue ray player with 4K nothing else cause the smart tv already has all that other “stuff” this product fit the bill & it works awesome! No complaints here.

I purchased this 4k player based off of high reviews. To be honest I was a little disappointed because of the size, which is small and also the remote control. The setup is very simple and easy. When I connect this player to my LG 4kuhd TV, I was blown away with the picture and sound quality that comes from this small package. I will definitely be getting another one for my bedroom!

Impressive! Although 4K is great on this player, the biggest surprise of all is how clear, sharp and natural the 3D reproduction is. This replaced a Sony BluRay with streaming since I now have a Roku 4K streaming device. I no longer needed the streaming on the Sony. The price of the Panasonic was unbeatable, so I got it. I think because it is 4k, the refresh rate of the 3D movies is of higher quality, so the 3D picture is the best I have ever seen.

Purchased this model because it was the best value at the time. After setting it up, the unit stopped working - the remote would not control it. The remote is the only way to use it. So I took it back to BB and exchanged it for a new one. The second one worked fine. Picture and sound are awesome.

I wanted an inexpensive blue ray player and this fits the bill. I do not like that you cannot control the device without the remote, so don't lose the remote. There isn't even a play button on the player itself. But good and simple for the price. I several issues with delivery of the product, this was open box, but that is not a reflection of the product itself.

We were surprised by the clarity of the picture when we played an older, non-Blue Ray, DVD in this Panasonic. Then we put in a Blue Ray DVD we bought at least 5 years ago. Good heavens, what a new level-up from our old DVD player. Whatever Panasonic has done puts this relatively low cost DVD onto the same list with the players costing between $300 and $400.

Great picture and a bargain price. Even at just $99 it has everything you need out of a 4K player.

I picked this 4K player up after I found out I could NOT watch my newly purchased 4K movies on my PlayStation 4. They will work on the PS5 however (which I ended up getting a few weeks later), but as an avid physical media fan, I prefer to have a dedicated player for movies to limit usage on the Video Game Console. The player does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Nothing fancy about it, which is a good thing. I enjoy the simplicity of it. It’s very quiet, easy to set up and compact and stylish. I feel it was a good price (about $125) at the time of purchase. Highly recommend this product.
