This is by far the best uhd player on earth. If you’re thinking about going with a lower price player like I was, DONT. If you think the 4k you see watching Amazon, Playstion 5, or Netflix looks great it’s garbage compared to this. This player lets you see what 4k can really look like. It will blow you away how much better your 4k tv will look! It’s expensive but worth every penny in my opinion.

Great quality player. Much like the Oppo of the past. Only down thing is I can't link the volume control on the Panasonic remote to my Sony TV. (the instructions do say it won't work on some TV's). I guess Sony is one of them. I have checked the "settings" for the code, but it still doesn't link. Minor issue. Otherwise,great picture, and everything works well. Pretty Pricy.

Very happy. Best price anywhere for the blu-ray player that we have been wanting a long time. The picture quality and sound are much better. Even our apps are better. It weighs alot, but is excellent for upgrading video and sound quality even with dvds and older blu-rays

I've been using this blu ray player for the last few months and it is by far the most premium player for 4k blu rays and normal blu rays money can buy.

This was a smart buy I knew everything I was looking for and this machine checked all the marks if you have a theater setup this should be in your arsenal

Best 4k Blu-ray player that I own.. I know about the 1000+ players but this is under that and when I tell you it is a difference from sound and visuals. This player made me a believer… I used to download in stream from a nvidia shield. This made me appreciate 4k movies I’ve been collecting every since.

I purchased this as an open box to replace my Oppo 203, which is no linger made. First, Its solidly built and weighs way more than i was expecting. Like solid steel heavy. Set up was super easy and fast and i had it up and ready for a movie within 10 minutes max. Put in a lens cleaner disc since it was probably a display model. Then played King Vs Godzilla to test the picture. Wow!!! Amazing. I first noticed that spectral highlights seems crisper and the color was fantastic, like in Kong’s eyes. You can select your tv type within the picture settings which i found to be helpful. I selected OLED ( for my LG C9) and can only assume it has auto adjustments to the brightness/contrast/?? based on that. The picture feels even more clear/crisp than the Oppo produced, but thats just my initial gut reaction. Overall after just a few hours of owning it, it is i r extremely impressive 4K player. In thus case, you really do get what you pay for!

This thing is a tank. Easily twice the size and 3 times the weight of the sony player I am replacing. My first test I watched Waterworld. Picture was so clear it seemed like I could dip my hand into the water. I have surround sound speakers, but at the time I had only my soundbar on and I had to turn it down from where I usually keep it because the sound was so much louder, but still very clear.

Item is glitchy; there are both 4K and blu-ray discs that freeze. I reached out to Panasonic since this machine is still under warranty. I was told I had to pay out of pocket to send the player back to them. To begin with, a $1,000 plus machine should not be glitchy. Second, for a $1,000 plus machine, I should not be made to pay anything to send it back for fixing. Panasonic just lost a customer. I do not recommend this machine at all.

Great sound and picture quality. I still struggle with paying this much for a dying media, but live in a rural area limited to satilite internet. streaming will never play as clearly as physical media.

I have owned two of these players thus far and both have started pixelating, freezing, and skipping about 15 months into ownership. They primarily skip with 4K BD-66 discs and a BD-100 discs. These discs play fine in a Oppo 203 and Reavon X100, so it's definitely not the discs. As time goes on, more and more discs pixelate. I have tried a full factory reset twice and the problem persists. I also have the latest firmware update and have swapped cables with the working players. None of this resolved the issue. Thankfully, I had the Geek Squad warranty on the first and now second player. The Geek Squad depot repair leaved a lot to be desired. They just did a factory reset, which I told them I had done. The Manalapan Geek Squad manager was great and swapped the player for a new one. I hope they can just swap the player for me with this second faulty one. I contact Panasonic support and they refused to cover the second one under warranty because I was three months past the twelve month warranty, even though I explained this was my second unit having the same type problem. No issues for 12+ months but right around 14 - 15 month the pixelating starts and it gets progressively worse over time. Panasonic has the best video processing, IMHO, and many AV sites will back that up. However, their drives leave a lot to be desired. I don't if it's a weak laser, motor, or something else. The drives just don't last long and have pixelating, skipping, freezing issues. There a quite a few folks that have this issue with the UB9000 and UB820.

Great picture and sound when it was working. Bought this about a month ago, lost sound on Netflix after using it for 5 days. Next day lost sound on all apps except DVD, and the only way to restore full functionality both times was to unplug it. I ended up returning it the next day and trading it for a different brand that offered the same set up options (separate HDMI for video and audio). I used to own Samsung 4K DVD players and loved their home screens. The homescreen for the UB9000 seemed like something from the 80's, and the fact that it defaults to DVD playback when you turn it on with a disk in the drive was annoying. To watch Prime or YouTube is a 3 step process onless the drive is empty. Also the fact that there was no info displayed when pausing a movie about how much is left without pushing another button on the remote was rather disappointing. I did a lot of research before purchasing this DVD player and was set aback about the antique homescreen and basic operation. If any review would have mentioned that, I still would have bought it with different expectations and probably would have exchanged it for the same model after it started acting up instead of returning it. And if it was a few hundred dollars less I would recomend it, but the DVD player I replaced it with was less than half the price, sounds and looks just as good and has been working flawless for three weeks as of now.

This is my 3rd Panasonic 4K player...even though for some reason after 3 years of ownership the player goes out. (Glad I had the 4 year extended warranty) But I keep getting the same one each time. I love what I can do with the various sound enhancements on this player which goes well with my Vizio soundbar system. The sounds are awesome.

Truly a great Blu-ray player! I own other high end electronics but this is one of the newest things I recently bought. It much more heftier than my oppo and the pics lol more detailed than the oppo ( sadly they stopped manufacturing) . The only dislikes that I have are: you can’t zoom to fit the screen without losing some of the pic unlike the oppo, the atmos sound experience does not play upon the introduction of movies so it doesn’t feel like you’re in a theater, and you can’t turn the unit off via tv . Nevertheless, it’s a solid piece of equipment

Excellent 4K player superb sound and HDR video! Solidly built, reference player. I would highly recommend it for any high-end home theater application.

I was kinda skeptical about the price of this player and the level of performance it would give but I'm super happy that I pulled the trigger and made the purchase. This got to be one of the best 4K players in the world. I'm very happy for not just the video enhancements it gives but also for the audio experience it provides. This player is definitely on another level in comparison to other brands. You will not go wrong investing in this high end component. Highly Recommend 10/10!!

Absolutely silent i had been using my xbox series x to play my 4k movies and it was like a jet engine had to crank up the volume so loud just to drawn it out, this panasonic ub9000 is dead silent the picture seems to be crisper maybe a little more pop to the color! Love it tad bit expensive but worth it.

I have had my Oppo 203 for a long time but since that product is no longer supported the newer 4k discs that have come out the playback is not smooth anymore. Usually just has a hiccup sometimes in the middle of the movie. This player has solved this for me and is an incredible player. Only thing i would add is a original resolution playback and an option to turn off auto playback when the disc when its inserted. Other than that its a incredible player.

I love my Panasonic 4K the picture quality and sound comes across beautifully. Easy to setup and synchronize with my television.
