Great quality shave, easy maintenance, love that it has the cleaning and charging station in one yet a portable charger station and travel case all included even the detergent to clean the blades. I do recommend purchasing blade oil to compliment the longevity of its lifespan for continuous quality shaving.

I had an equally well-reviewed Braun Series 7 for five years before this, and Norelco razors for many more years before that. The Panasonic Arc5 is the happy medium between those, and then some. The Braun had a smaller head and less flexibility, swiveling only up and down. It felt a step backward from the Norelco's circular, flexible razor heads: not as good at following contours; I had to work the razor around my face. But its "hygeine" (aka time to clean) meter and self-cleaning and charging dock were great, even if the cleaning canister refills were extra money and time to get a hold of. The Arc5, comparatively, flexes up, down and left and right, becoming much easier to maneuver, and its auto-adjusting speeds depending on how rough your stubble is are neat, too. Also like the Braun, I got the version of the Arc5 with the cleaning and charging base, and its detergent-- while still requiring extra effort to acquire-- is much cheaper and easier to work with than Braun's. Post-cleaning, it really seemed brand new. I also feel good knowing if I hadn't gotten the cleaning base, it would have been very easy to clean the razor with the simple directions of some liquid soap and a rinse that the included instructions suggest. But probably most important is the quality of the shave, and Arc5 doesn't disappoint there either. Braun's razor always seemed to require extra time and effort going over trouble spots, either due to the size of the razor head or its inflexibility. With Panasonic, I have to do much less to get myself to a clean shave faster. Less time shaving, better results, and a better cleaning experience make this a huge winner.

I have owned Panasonic shavers for the last 15 years they were the Arc 4 series and they did great. This time I upgraded to the Arc 5 series and cannot believe the difference it is quiet and shaves not only closer but much faster than any of my previous razors. Do hesitate to buy this one. I also love the cleaning station works great to keep your shaver running at its peak.

I have been using a wet razor for 20 years approx, thoughtI would go Back to electric, I check the reviews and finally went with the Panasonic, glad I did it a great razor been using it for a couple of weeks close shave easy to use battery life great use it everyday have not needed to charge yet The clean and charge base is a great if you can get it as well Highly recommend this shave,

My husband loves this razor. He uses it every 2-3 days to touch up when needed. He loves the close shave it gives, auto cleaning feature is amazing. It’s sleek and perfect. The cleaning process goes through a cycle of intermittent vibrating noises that did catch me off guard initially.

Honestly, this is the best razor I've ever used. Returned Braun series 9 and now have fallen in love with the Arc5. It shaves so much closer. It's actually my second one, no fault of Panasonic. I dropped it on a tile floor and broke it. I had a warranty on it, and Best Buy just swapped it out. Definitely get the one with the base. That cleaner does wonders to that razor. Also, you won't have to dismantle it every time to clean it, and then have to let it dry. The cleaning station does it all. You will not regret this purchase.

Great electric shaver. Auto cleaning and drying is the best part:) My last Panasonic shaver was much better then the Brauns I had over the years. The foils would always wear out. I never had to replace my Panasonic's foil or cutter:) Japanese Quality!

I've owned electric shavers for the last 25 years. I have to say this one, by far, is the best when it comes to closest shave. 3 day stuble is gone in a minute with this shaver. Very close shave and smooth. Definitely worth the price and would recommend.

It has been over a year now using this razor. I replaced a Panasonic that I had used for over 10 years. My first thought when picking it up was how much larger the head was. Immediately I liked this razor, even better than my old one. I shave everyday. No super heavy beard but my beard is fairly heavy. The razor leaves your face so smooth. The head floats over your jawline and over your lip, etc. I only clean it in the cleaner about twice a week. The other five days I run water over the head. I live most of the year in Spain and the rest of the time in the US so the automated cross over on power in the device is fantastic. I can use it easily in both countries as well as traveling in Europe by just taking the charger cord. If I could give this razor more than 5 stars I would. I have read reviews some have issues with the cleaning station but I have had zero issues.

This thing is still going strong shaving 5 days a week. Only had to replace the blade once. Saves you a ton of money compared to regular razor blades $$$. Close shave and neck irritation.

Excellent shaver! I have learned how to use this better with time and it is excellent for the price. I don't think it's necessary to spend more money. Go with this! Awesome trimmer as well.

This is absolutely the best electric razor currently. I had an older Panasonic that finally died so I was on the hunt for a new razor. I purchased a Norelco 5000 series and a Braun 5 series before buying the Arc5. The norelco took forever to shave but was probably the easiest on my skin. The Braun was decent but I wasn't wowed buy it for the price. I finally broke down and purchased the Arc5 and let me tell you, it mowed through my shave in about 1/2 the time from the other two. I was shocked at how well it worked and how fast it went through my face. I typically have to follow up with a regular razor just to get some left over stubble....not with the Arc5. It gets everything. So happy I spent the extra money on it. BTW - cleaning is super easy with it like the old panasonic I had. Treat yourself!

Shaves efficiently, fast and super smooth, handles well and easy to clean. The self-cleaning charger works well but is not really necessary. It should be possible to buy the shaver without it, but I could not.

I had not used an electric shaver in many years. And, when I did they were pretty ineffective. Now that I am on blood thinners, I was cutting myself to pieces with my traditional razor. I looked like I had been in a knife fight with every shave. So, I started researching to see if there might be an electric shaver out there that actually would give a close shave. All signs pointed to the Panasonic Arc5. I took a chance, bought one, and was I ever surprised! This is one great shaver, shaving as close as my old traditional razor. And, no cuts or burns! I absolutely love it. I do suggest you buy it WITH the Cleaning Station. It does a great job as well and all you have to do is shave. The Cleaning Station does all the rest afterwards. You will not regret This shaving system. It is the best!

I think it is a great product. I was not a believer that electric shavers could produce a nice clean shave, until this product. In the past I have tried a rotary shaver and was ok but aaah. When I used this Panasonic I was impressed at how close the cut was without irritation. Now not so difficult to catch the "troublesome facial hairs that just don't want to get cut." I thought I could do without the stand, nope. I now find it indespencible. Why so easy keep my blades clean and dry. I do spray the heads with barbercide/lube just for the lube. Have used for 1 months and satisfied with the product. Thank you very much to Panasonic and their ongoing ideas to improve electric shavers.

Ive had the Braun series 9, and in comparison, this shaver gives a closer shave, is easier to clean and holds a good charge. The quality of the Panasonic blades hold better then the Braun. I great shaver overall.

I have been using Norelco Rotary shavers for years. Had probably 4 different ones and of those 4 only one was even close to being great. Rotary always pulled my hairs and was a pain to get all of the hair on my jawline and neck. I would spend 20+ Minutes each shave. It was quicker to go back to a straight razor. I started looking into the Braun Series 9 and in doing so I came across the Panasonic Arc5. For the price difference it was worth picking up the Arc5. Best decision ever. Closet shave I have ever had with an electric shaver. No pulling of hairs and handles my jawline and neck with ease. Highly recommend checking this one out.

This a a great electric shaver. I have been using this for over a year now. It provides a smooth shave and capable of tackling 3 day scruff.

I get a close, efficient shave every time. The razer head is very easy to take apart and rinse in the sink to clean, which I usually do before setting it in the charging base. Sometimes I just leave it there to charge, but more often than not I hit the button to send the razer through a cleaning cycle. The cleaning cycle takes a bit of time and is a little noisy, but it keeps the razer in tip top condition and smelling fresh. The detergent must be replaced now and again and is a bit difficult to find and imo overpriced, but it does keep the whole system humming along perfectly. I definitely recommend this razer and base.
