This is my second Panasonic electric shaver in 7 years. I tried the Braun Series 9 electric shaver and it was a nightmare (I left a review). The Panasonic shaves close and leaves your skin smooth as silk without much pressure against your skin. It has a feature that senses the length / density of your facial hair and adjusts the blades accordingly, insuring a smooth shave accross face, chin and neck. The detergent is alcohol free, smells great and cleans and lubricates the razor from shave to shave. I've always had a very light, soft facial hair until it turned grey. Grey hair is very wirery, unruly and can wear down disposible razor blades easily. The Panasonic Arc 5 handles all hair types with ease and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

After spending quite some time scrolling through various product reviews, I decided on the Panasonic Arc5 Automatic Shaver. My husband loves it. Provides a close shave and easy to use. He really likes the LCD display, the charging base, and the ease of cleaning. Great product; reasonable price point; and great results!

Have only had the Ark5 for about 3 weeks but so far it is great. It replaces a Braun Model 9 which started locking up and Braun was of no help in addressing the problem. The Arc5 is easier to hold and I'm getting a week between charges. It is also easier to clean; I only use the cleaning stand during the charge cycle and rinse the head and blades under water and a little soap in between charge/clean cycles.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this razor. after a month using every other day I havent experienced any of the negatives I read about. I use it on my head and neck below my beard. I found if I use it every other day or 3rd day on my head it shaves easy and as smooth as a razor. Like all electric razors it does not do well with long hair. the only draw back i have is the razor head is large. Which helps speed up the process doing my whole head but little difficult around the top of my ear to sideburn section. I still think its best razor I have ever used in 20 years though. The charging/cleaning station is so nice. Yea it can be a little loud on the cleaning portion but its the razor turning on and off so what's the difference when you use it? Travel case and option to still sharge it with just the cord is well thought out. Mean I dont have to lug the station with me when I go away for a week. But after 20 use Im still at 80 to 85 percent So i likely wouldnt need to charge it anyway.

First electric razor I’ve had in 20 years! Beard needs to get accustomed to an electric razor again but does a good job. Would recommend shaving at least every other day or it takes awhile to get a 3-5 day growth cut. Quiet razor. Love the drying/cleaning unit!

Great shave and coverage area. So far, I am very pleased with this razor. I had the Arc3 for almost two years. I liked it. Then, tried a 700 series Braun, and took it back. I think I'll keep my Arc5

Does the job better than any razer I've owned. Shaved my head completely bald.

Have had this a year. Best shaver I've ever had. Delivers a very close shave. Outstanding battery life, Used daily for 2 week trips without charging, Could go longer. Not great for sensitive skin like women's underarms. The cleaning unit is a must. Easy to clean and charge daily. Just drop it in the unit and press one button. Cost more upfront but well worth having. Highly recommend this shaver and cleaner.

This is a pretty good razor , it shaved close on the first day after I switched from my old razor to his one. I expected my face to take a while to adjust to it but it felt good and gave a nice clean shave right away. It hugs the contours of my face well also. It’s wet shave also but I haven’t tried using it that way yet . It also comes with a cleaner that can charge it while cleaning . Well worth the money !

Is a good razor, gives a fairly close shave. It does not shave very close to my goatee, which is where the built in trimmer impressed me. The trimmer cuts very close. The cleaning base makes it very convenient as well. It makes it very low risk to accidentally damage the foil which is why I have avoided this style of razor in the past.

Surely gets the job done, highly recommend this. Catch it on sale.

The blades didn't last long and became dull in a short time.

I did extensive research trying to buy the best shaver as a gift for my boyfriend. He's been using this for about two months now and shaves every week. He thinks this is probably the closest shave you're going to get with an electric, but still needs to followup with a non-electric razor (I think he uses Mach 5). He has really dense slightly curly beard and never grows it out longer than a centimeter or two, says it gets too itchy. He does not get skin irritation, which is what almost prevented me from getting this one instead of the Braun. So I'm happy with my purchase since he's happy. He's not too fond of new additions to his routine, so I think it says a lot that he's kept it up. As I suspected from reading hundreds of reviews prior to purchase, it's not as close of a shave as a non-electric razor, but no electric razor will do that so that's not a practical indicator. But out of all the electric shavers, I think this one will get you there the closest. 5 STARS for the shaver. The only complaint with the cleaner is the solution is a bit pricey, ~$12 for 3 packets. He's run out of it three weeks ago so is just using water and it seems to do the job fine. Even though it's a nice gift, I don't think it's actually that practical or necessary (this is from someone who's never owned/used an electric shaver though). 3.5 STARS for the cleaner.

An excellent shaver -- close, smooth, fast. Easy to clean. The only suggestion I would make is that the instructions for using the automatic cleaning process should expand on what to expect: the timing and all the related bells and whistles; and a bit more clarity on how to get and use the related cleaning products. Anxious to see how well the lade and cover last.

Best razor I have ever owned! Immediately bought one for my dad after I got mine. What surprised me most was the battery life. I charged it once and have shaved my face a dozen times or more and the battery is still going strong.
