I am surprised to be honest. I have used electric razors in the past but they just didn’t cut close enough so I switched to razor for maybe 3 decades. I read reviews and decided to try it. I shaved dry and with cremo cream. Both worked very well. I would say as close as a blade - Gillette Fusion 5 blade that is. Although shaving with shave cream works, it’s messy so I probably won’t do it much if at all. It rinses out super easy though. This unit is so easy to rinse/wash. Amazing device!

My old (other brand) three-head shaver was WAY past its expiration date, so after seeing the Panasonic arc5 on sale and checking out quite a few comparisons (on line) I decided to go for it. Besides, I was tired of being tethered to an outlet with a cord. Wow! I can hardly feel anything as it provides a close shave. There's no post-shave irritation either - smooth from the first use. And I love the feature that tells you when it's time for a recharge (versus having to guess). Still no movie star look, though. Hey, it's only a shaver; not a magic wand.

I have the Norelco, a Braun and this Panasonic. The panasonic shaves the fastest and closest. Some complain about pulling, but none of them are perfect. This one is as smooth shaving as either of the others. Looks plasticy, but it is pretty solid. Easy to clean. The norelco sheds hairs when sheding. Haven't had this with the Norelco. The Braun is good, but sometimes leaves hairs. None are perfect, but this is the best deal by far. It's as good as the top of the line Braun and 1/2 the price.

I have used many other brands and it bits ever one of them. I have a tough and very fine beard. This shaver only takes 1 0r 2 minutes and not 8 or 10 minutes. It is very quiet and comfortable. very simple and easy to clean. It tells exactly how long you shave when you stop, then the balance on charge left. Lasts about two week on one charge which has a fast recharge. I tell all my friends to buy it.

The ARC5 has been a game-changer for me. As someone who has always used Gillette products, I found them adequate but not entirely satisfying—they merely got the job done. However, with increasing work appearances at trade shows, I noticed the need for a closer shave, which my old razor couldn't provide. This need for improvement led me to discover the ARC5. Initially, I was hesitant about the ARC5, mainly due to its cost, assuming it was just an expensive, automated version of what I already had. But I was completely mistaken. The ARC5 is incredibly user-friendly, delivers an exceptionally close shave, and leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth. It's been such a transformative experience that there's no going back for me—I'm absolutely smitten with this device.

Excellent and smooth shave. Easy to use, especially with some shaving gel. Definitely be sure to get your hair very short before shaving, because it struggles with longer hairs--especially those that lay flat on your face. The only part I struggled with was my neck, where the hairs lay flat against my skin, but it was easy enough to touch up with a blade. Battery holds enough charge for several shaves.

69 years old been shaving with manual razor all my life. guess skin changed was causing irritation.hesitent to switch, did research and purchased this panasonic. took a couple weeks for skin to adapt and now i am happy with the results, much easier no rash

This provides a very close shave. I follow the directions daily by washing the razor with soap, rinse, air dry and then add panasonic mineral oil. So far the ability to maintain a close shave has been maintained. The razor's rechargeable battery lasts about 2 weeks as advertised.

For an electric it is very close. Battery lasts a long time. I have tried shaving my head with this. It is more time intensive to get an almost close as blade shave. Some irritation, but I was shaving dry. Wet did not seem to cut it, litterally. Lighter than I expected, hope it lasts. The price is great for how well it shaves.

Compared to my previous Panasonic Arc3, this Arc5 is a little bulky, so it takes a little getting used to when maneuvering it. If you've ever had a Panasonic before, though, this provides the same close and comfortable shave I'm used to. The battery life is also much longer than the older model, although part of the reason I replaced it is that the older battery seemed to be on its last legs. I suspect that this one will provide at least as many years of faithful service as that one did.

This is my second Panasonic, replacing a ES-LV65-S that now my wife uses. Same comfort and same shave quality as before, and really enjoy the fact that it is a wet/dry shaver. It is powerful and with a long battery life.

Close shave. Excellent quality and price. Would buy again. Very quiet and fast charging.

New version in quieter sharper and fits better in your hand. for the price, it will compete with the best. I have had 2 diffrent Brauns

This is the best electric razor I have ever used. It cut’s close and is easy to clean. The razor works well with the contours of my face as well as under my chin and along my neck. Definitely a good investment.

Its been a few, ok many, years since I used a razor and I only had bad memories so when it came time to get one, I wanted to make sure I found a good one. This is it. Its comfortable in my hand, it glides across my skin and scalp and leaves behind a smooth surface with no burns. It's very easy to clean, a charge lasts a week - your mileage may vary - and overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I have long used an electric razor and found most brands disappointing. Several years ago I started using Panasonic and found them to be superior in every respect. Until recently I was using an Arc4 and was mostly satisfied. Had heard and read good things about Arc5 so when Best Buy had a one day sale for 50% off I took the plunge and I am so glad I did. I have to tell you that I shave my entire head so that presents many issues that the vast majority of electric razors simply can't handle. Even my Arc4 had some problem areas that it struggled with but no problem for the Arc5. The razor is comfortable and gives an amazingly close shave across my head and face. The Arc5 does a far better job in 3-4 minutes than the Arc4 did in 5-6. I also appreciate the lock function on the switch so it can't be accidentally turned on while traveling. The only downside (and it is a minor issue) is that it is harder to clean after each shave with the brush as the internal blades are closer together. This is simply a phenomenal electric razor for anyone but a godsend for anyone who shaves their head.

What to say about this shaver. It's quieter than the Arc3 it replaced. It cuts closer and leaves my skin smoother as well. The head is a bit larger and that's about my only gripe with it.

I do not have a lot to compare this shaver to, as the last electric shaver I had was 10+ yrs ago and it was awful and expensive(braun). I was skeptical of this shaver, but it has impressed me. My neck area is super sensitive and I have tried all the shave club razors, store bought all the same. They give me ingrown hairs in the neck region as they pull the hair, cut it, then it goes under the skin and breaks you out. It makes for a great smooth feel the day of, but the days after suck. This panasonic leaves my skin just as smooth and standard 4-5 blade types and no breaking out the following days. Only complaint and reason for 4 instead of 5 star is the shaver always misses 5-10 hairs, not sure if my beard grows weird, but I always have a few stragglers that have to be hit with the trimmer part and then shave then. If it wasn't for that, I'd be on the mountain tops praising this shaver lol. I did but the extended warranty not knowing how well this will do over time.

I needed to replace an older Panasonic that has served me well for many years. The older one was not holding a charge very long so I thought I better get a new one. This razor is faster, less noisy (not silent), and definitely holds a charge much longer than my old one. The bigger head was a small worry, but it gets under the nose and close to the ears with no problems. Shaving doesn't take as long and my face is much smoother than when I used my old razor.
