I own this machine for 7 months now. I was super happy with this machine until recently that it started producing a loud periodic noise when using it. I expected a longer-lasting machine given its high price.

This razor is extremely loud and bulky and heavy ! It's so loud that I had to stop using it !

I haven't used electric shavers for a lot of years because they didn't shave close enough, especially compared to a standard razor, so this shaver was my first revisit to see if the technology had improved to allow better shaves to be achieved. My finding is that "not yet". This shaver did a terrible job of shaving. I had to go over my face to the point of it starting to get sore from running the shaver over it so many times. After all that I ended up having to whip out my standard razor to finish up the job. I'm very disappointed because I was hoping it would have worked and save me some time on my daily shave. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way.

The Panasonic Arc5 shaver has been an excellent addition to my daily grooming accessories. in the past I had only used old Norelco shavers but about thirty years ago I switched to old fashioned razors for my shaving needs as the electric razors of that time just didn't do the job for me. I can see that in thirty years a lot has changed! Normally I keep a beard on my face and shave my head. I was initially worried that an electric razor would not be up to that task. I have been happily surprised by the effectiveness of this Panasonic razor in getting the job done. In half the time! An added bonus is the attached trimming tool which has proven to be rather handy! So far I've gotten four full shaves between charges which alone is impressive. Charging to full takes a little over an hour. The included carrying case is rather nice and attractive. Overall, I'm impressed and happy with this electric shaver!

For this much money the hair on my face should be close as a razor! I'm african American and this thing sucks. Took it back the first chance I got! Back to the drawing board because I've tried them all and neither are worth my hard earned money!

Product is not worth the money and does not shave as advertised. It does not shave close at all very disappointed

Tried this one because of the reviews. But it did not get close enough for me without really grinding on my face. So I went back and bought razor blades in bulk to last a year.

After using a circular, three blade electric shaver from a different manufacturer, I decided to try the Panasonic ARC 5 wet/dry shaver. I have to shave every other day otherwise beard gets too big. This shaver has 4 blades which are excellent for daily, clean, smooth shaving. If I wait three days, it does not do such a good job. The charge lasts almost two weeks of every other day use. It has a nice convenient and useful trimmer. The head is very flexible to adapt to contour of the face. It does take a few more passes below the chin than it does to shave the cheeks. Its very easy to clean and the instruction manual, though short, it give clear instructions. Though it does not do as perfect job as I would like, it is perfect for traveling and everyday use.

Power of device is weak. Only two blades even tho looking at it looks like 4 blades.

The quality of the shave from this razor is excellent. It is a lot closer that I expected. Usually I have to use an electric shaver followed by a safety razor to get the closest possible shave. I like the display that indicates how much power is left, so there is no more surprises when the battery dies. I haven't had any problems with the battery life so far. I also like the size and the leather pouch that comes with this. This shaver travels well. The only problem I had was using the pop up trimmer felt a little awkward compared to others I have used. Overall, still a great shaver.

Like the features of this electric razor. Turned out a little to harsh for my skin.

This would leave me with facial hairs had to go back over it with my old norelco which would leave me with a smoother shave.

This razor requires your stubble to already be very short to work. If you're someone who shaves every other day as opposed to every day, don't buy this razor.

Received as Xmas gift! Amazing compared to my Remington F5, which even though cheaper was buying a new one every year and a half ! That was because blades and screen cost almost the same as to replace the shaver . This unit is super quiet, battery stays charged for many shaves, and shaves very close ! Highly recommend.

Awful razor. I have used Norelco and Braun. I wish I could return this but the instructions tell user to use for 30 days to get your whiskers used to it. I did that and now it’s too late. I hate this razor. Junk. I have to make endless passes over my face to no avail.

I’ve had Panasonic wet/dry shavers before, but this is the best one so far. I’ve had it just over a month and I’m still on the original charge. It glides over the face smoothly, and cleans easily. Add on the fact that I got it on sale and I’m very happy with this shaver.

After doing my research online I decided to purchase this shaver.After trying wet and dry shaves with the Panasonic I was very dissatisfied. I didn't get a close shave with either method. And I was really looking forward to getting rid of my razor!

Went firm a Braun series 5 and that thing sucked! Constantly pulled hairs and the long hair trimmer never worked well overall switching over to the Panasonic is night and day! I feel like it cuts my facial hair so effortlessly and in much less time! Glad I can get a really good shave at a reasonable price! 100

Can’t get all the hair underneath neck and below jaw bone

The Panasonic - Arc5 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver - Matte Black is an excellent shaver able to nearly replace your straight-edge razor completely. The 5-blade system uses cross-cut action rather than rotary blades like many other systems. Panasonic boasts 70,000 cross-cut actions per minute! I found this shaver to be an awesome upgrade to various other "cross-cut" shavers. Cross-cut razors traditionally get hot and are not well designed for closeness without rash or heat burn to the face and neck. The Panasonic Arc5 seems to have overcome this dilemma by give a close shaver (close to a straight-edge) without contributing to razor burn and heat transfer. Wet and dry, this razor was a beard buster. The edging/trimmer was close and precise for hairline, around ears, goatee, and around lips. PROS - Panasonic design and quality - Effective both wet or dry - Close shave without heat or razor burn - Accessories and pouch were appropriate and compact for travel or for the drawer - Trimmer is precise and effective for tight hairlines and sensitive spots - Variable pivoting head makes any position or angle successful for shaving NEUTRAL - Recharging/cleaning base should be standard with this device, not an addon. CONS - None
