This baby monitor has a very clear image, The setup is very simple. Just make sure you have a small precision screwdriver to take the back cover off so that you can insert the battery. Once powered up, the camera automatically syncs with the video monitor via DECT technology. Because of that, I have found that there is virtually no lag versus other baby monitors I have used that connect via Wifi. The pan and zoom capabilities are very impressive and the communications are virtually lag free as well. I like that the monitor is rechargeable so that I can take it from room to room without plugging it in. Other cameras I have used have a phone app that allows me to use anywhere, but that requires connection through Wifi which presents certain security risks The temperature monitor is very accurate. I checked this against two other temperature sensors and it is spot on. I found the monitor to be sharp and clear, but would like it better if I could adjust the viewing angel. It is not optimal for the location I want to put it in. The camera itself is great, my daughter thinks it sort of looks like an owl and named it Henry. For a closed system, this camera performs very well, but is not an option if you want to check in on the kids while travelling or at work. Also, it seems to be one camera to one monitor. It would be nice if I could place multiple monitors throughout the house. Overall I would recommend this monitor for people who are always home or as a secondary baby monitor for when you are at home, but if you are planning to check in from outside the home, a Wifi camera is a better option.

This video baby monitor will definitely get the job done when it comes to keeping an eye on the little ones. I will admit, first impressions of this monitor were not all that great, the design of the battery setup in the piece that has the screen was a bit annoying. A screwdriver is needed to open the battery cover panel, and then the compartment that holds the battery is just barely big enough for the battery and its wire/plug, so it took a few times of making adjustments before the battery cover fit properly. Once the battery was installed and the camera was plugged in, things went very smooth. There was no syncing or connecting to be done at all, they just connected together on their own. The range on motion on the camera is definitely the most impressive factor, no matter where I put the camera in the room, I can see the majority of the room so for someone looking to keep an eye on multiple babies, this is an excellent choice. The distance range is the other very impressive feature this monitor has. I left the camera plugged in my family room, walked past a closet under the stairs, past my dining room, out the front door, and out to the sidewalk and a couple houses down, roughly a total of about thirty to forty yards away. While at that distance I can still see video, as well as talk and hear to anyone near the camera. Also a very cool function is all the sound options to play, only downside is the quality of the speaker/audio is not all that great. Speaking of quality, the one downside of this monitor is the quality of the screen. It seems like it has the quality of a screen from about 5 years ago. With how good screens are in everything is these days, I was really expecting better in this device. Overall though, this is very useful device that I would recommend to anyone in the market for a baby monitor.

    Finally a great monitor!

So after we bought and returned 4 other monitors this is the one we kept. It’s awesome. Super long range, we live next door to our parents and we can go next door without loosing signal when she’s asleep. It’s loud and I can actually hear my baby! Good camera. Auto sensors are awesome and you can turn them off if you don’t want them. We love the white noise feature. Love the auto wake. Battery life seems great. Now a few cons- Takes ten years to turn on (more like 15 seconds) but it’s pretty ridiculous. Uhhhh it sometimes moves around when off?? I’ll be sittinf with my daughter in her room and the monitor will move all the way across the room then back to where it was. Or I’ll turn the monitor on and it’ll be looking a different way and as it turns on it’ll go back to where it was (on her crib). CREEPY. I hope it’s not one that people can hack into bc if it is I’m def worried this is happening.

After a few days of using the Panasonic Baby monitor, I have to say that I really like it, but there are a couple of issues that really became bothersome. The motion detection is very good but it picks up on even the slightest motion, that I found my self constantly clicking OK to stop the alert. It became such an issue I finally turned it off completely, which really defeats the purpose of this great monitor. There is also temperature and sound detection available, which I also turned off. They are adjustable, but I have yet to find one that works for me. Just because it is too much for me, does not mean that others will find it to be an issue. As for the camera and monitor, they are terrific. The monitor is bright and the resolution is pretty good for what it is. The camera can be controlled and moved at the monitor which is a very neat feature and makes scanning around your baby's room a breeze. Anyway a very good monitor and camera that have very sensitive alerts. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who needs a great baby monitor.

The Panasonic Video Baby monitor works as described. You can watch over your child with pan and tilt night vision camera with two way communication with sounds that will soothe your baby. There are just a few things that could be improved. The camera was very easy to set-up. There is a lot of customization that you can set-up but as far as getting it up and working out of the box - it is very easy. The day time image is excellent. The nighttime image is not the best I have seen although it's not horrible. I had no problems using the system throughout my 2200 sf home and in the backyard. The battery has lasted for more than four hours at a time. That is the longest we have tested it. Very easy to charge. Some things that are minor irritations: the night image quality, no recording feature, sensors can be a bit to aggressive for sound and/or movement at times. It takes some adjusting.

Moms and dads of new “little” ones can get a peaceful night’s sleep thanks to Panasonic’s home connected video monitor. Let’s jump right in! What makes this unit so remarkable is the awesome video and audio quality which deliver immense range. The picture this monitor projects is crystal clear and not grainy as some cameras can be. I know this feature is great as parents are awakened during the night by their babies and being able to take a peek and get a good clear image delivers immense peace of mind. Additionally, the movement detection sensors are great on this monitor as well. Overall, this unit offers robust features and most importantly peace of mind to parents!

We've spent hundreds of dollars trying to find a decent, not the best even, baby monitor. We started with budget, then tried going more expensive, but we haven't found one that hit the sweet spot. The panasonic is our latest addition. We generally trended with mostly wifi-enabled baby monitor so theoretically, while I was at work, I could watch what mommy and the LO are playing. We've actually never used that function as we typically send pics or facetime when the chance is there. So, that left a huge possible vulnerability to outside hackers for very little realworld beneft. The panasonic uses what they call a DECT system, but basically it's self-contained so nobody is supposed to be able to hack into the connection and start being creepy. The connection works well in our small place, but I can't speak to people who live in big houses. The features are well thought out and work decently well. The one gripe is the video quality isn't as crisp as some of our other monitors, but it's "good enough" and not bad for the price. We still haven't found one monitor that is the perfect one, but this one checks all the boxes with at least above average satisfaction overall and is safer than a internet connected monitor to boot. FWIW, it's currently still the monitor in use at our place.

    Customized for your child

This is one of the best baby monitors I've seen on the market, but there is plenty of room for improvement. The alerts and settings are highly customizable for what you want and need. One of the best features is the 2 way sound so if there's ever a time when your child just needs to hear your voice you can sing a lullaby through it. With older children you could easily have a conversation back and forth. The temperature sensor is pretty neat too to alert you if the room gets to warm or cold. However, the sensor isn't super accurate so you'll need to mentally adjust for that. Mine was about 3 degrees warmer than it actually was. The advertised range of 1500 feet is nowhere near the reality. Maybe it could hit that with perfect conditions but it's not really that big of a deal because I can't imagine anyone walking down the street to a neighbors and leaving their child alone in their room. The screen quality is pretty impressive for a device such as this.

Good Quality Baby Monitor With Adequate Features

To be quite honest, I am a little spoiled by the ease and quality of my Nest camera that I use as my primary baby camera. But this camera is good for everyday use as well. We have used it for travel when the Nest camera is just not an option. Just like your typical baby monitor, it is on a proprietary signal, linking the receiver to the transmitter. It has the ability to detect sound and movement, alerting the monitor to both. The camera is able to articulate different directions to get a better angle. It has the ability to be mounted, although we never did. Again, the quality is great for a standard baby monitor, however, having had the Nest camera, I couldn’t go to this.

This is good for more than just a baby monitor, it’s got great cameras actually and very good video price is aggressive, and competes with today’s market of devices. Setup is simple, and to the point. I have a few of these, and this is another good one to add on. You can use this anywhere in your home, very useful.

The Panasonic Baby Monitor is GREAT!!! I love the range on this monitor. My sons room is in the back of the house and when i tested how strong the range was i can see him through the Handheld device from the front yard, and maybe even from across the street i just did not want to go that far. The smart alerts and 2 way communication are also GREAT! Being able to talk to him through the monitor really helps me have piece of mind. As soon as he starts crying i immediately start talking through the monitor to let him know that i am coming.

Overall, I’d rate the Panasonic KX-HN3001 video camera and monitor set at 3/5 stars considering a composite of the features and the operations. I liked the two-way speaker and the size of the monitor. It’s a good choice if you want a closed network monitoring system that could expand to multiple cameras with good range. Images: 3/5. This is where this item falls down and is a deal breaker for most. In the day the image is ok but get to night time and this becomes a foggy mess. The resolution is terrible at night that you cant see any details. Its a very weak feature that really hurts this monitor Connectivity: 5/5. Rock solid, everything connect quick and stays connected Features/settings: 4/5. The two-way speaker to talk through the camera from the monitor is the best feature for me. Alerts are set for to sound and movement keep you aware of whats going on. lullabies can also play which is a nice touch. Use: 4/5. Simple to use, easy to set up with an ok battery life If i had a 2.5 star option i would have gone with that as the low night time resolution really does make this a difficult buy. But for use in the daytime you can't go wrong
