I was hesitant to buy this lens, especially for 1k. But after using the 12-35, this is absolutely a great 2nd lens in the bag. The reach is tremendous and sharpness is great. Photos and video are brilliant. Shooting video handheld fully zoomed is even possible although better with a rig. The stabilization with the lens and then the GH5 body combine for great dual stabilization.
Great outdoors, not brilliant in low light but expected at 2.8.

I bought this to complement the 2.8 12-35mm. It works really well with the GH5. Stabilization is much improved but still requires a brace or at least an extremely steady hand. Really nice and compact.

Great portrait lens for the micro 4/3rds system

Start this off, the 35mm equivalent is the 70-200mm. Which on a full frame is $2000+ and at least double the size/weight. For what it is, its definitely a bargain for the price. This is the perfect portrait lens for the micro-4/3rds system. The depth of field is exceptional, given the f2.8. Its weather sealed and zooms internally. This specific lens is the 2nd version, which increases sharpness, and is updated for the better stability control that works with the camera. Paired with something like the GH5, the stability is great, and autofocus is extremely quick. The rubber rings for manual focus and zoom are great feeling. At 35-100mm, 35mm makes this bad for "vlogging" or anything needing a 'wide' shot. And at 100mm this isn't a great landscape/wildlife lens. You'd be better suited with a 12-35mm for "vlogging or wide, and a 100-300(400)mm is way better suited for wildlife. But for portraits, or for a good medium to long indoor reach lens, this is the best you can get for the micro 4/3rds.

Got this for my GH4. This my favorite range of focal depth for shooting videos. Perfect GH4 lens.
