Amazing camera but it occasionally freezes while recording and doesn't turn off unless you take out the battery. It can cause you to lose critical footage at times. It isn't as bad while handheld because you can just pop out the battery real quick, but it takes more time if you're on a gimbal. Not ideal at a wedding or something like that. However, it's not like it does it all the time. Since I've had it (Sept-Nov), it's done it about 4-5 times. Dont know what causes it. ON THE POSITIVE: i really love this camera. It has really great stabilization, so I've been using it handheld most of the time. I use a gimbal for higher/lower shots. The type of lens you use matters a lot. I've gotten some great shots with an f-1.8 50mm lens. I also love all the different shooting settings. NUETRAL: This is a con for many people, but I knew about it and still bought the camera because i didn't think it would be such a big deal, but you get cropped 4k 60fps footage The problem could be solved by using a wider lens, but as you know, 30mm is not the same as 50mm. Would I rather buy a Sony? Perhaps, but the Lumix won me over because it handles video a whole lot better than Sony bc of the Stabilization and the different recording options.

I researched, read, and watched hundreds of videos leading up to the purchase of the Lumix S5IIX. All of the signs kept pointing back to the performance and value of this camera. The reviews don't lie! This camera is a fantastic hybrid camera that allows you to do everything you would want. Great photos, amazing video, and unlike many other cameras, an internal fan so it will not overheat on you. Lot's of room to grow into as your skills increase, and future proof. You won't regret this purchase.

I have always been a fan of Panasonic Lumix Cameras. Maybe its because I like the underdog. Well the Lumix S5IIX is far from being an underdog and seeing how the Lumix S5II has performed since its release is what really attracted me to this camera. With all the improvements made to the A-Focus and the best image stabilization around.I am mainly going to use this camera for video, but I like having the capability to do photography I couldn't be happier

A good camera for doing videos. A little hard to read the dials.

I really like the Lumix camaras. The have the best bang for the buck and the S5iix black out addition with key videocentric features is the swiss army knife of the hybrid camera world. I very happy with this purchase. Great product.

Great camera for beginning videography. Has features enough to get you started on photography or videography, such as recording to ssd, 2 sd card slots, ability to choose shutter angle, and others. Colors come out looking great. Camera is fairly lightweight too but has enough heft to not feel like a cheap piece of plastic. My biggest gripe with it is it only supports a max framerate of 60 fps. 120 would have been better. Also the 60fps recording mode has a noticeable crop. You can of course work around this, but it'd be better if you didn't have to. I also wish it would do a sensor clean anytime you shut it off. Menu's can be a bit confusing and hard to find things but I suppose most cameras can have unintuitive menus. This camera has never overheated on me while recording which was a major concern for me. I've recorded for over a half hour at a time in 4k resolution in 30 fps and had no issues with usability. It of course gets warm like any electronic device will, but nothing to make it difficult or dangerous to hold. Still feel like I've just scratched the surface of what this camera is capable of and am excited to only get more familiar with it. This is certainly a device that will last me several years.

This camera is perfect for both photo and video. The picture quality is stunning and the colors are beautiful. I recommend using this camera in nature. The kit lens is great too. I like that it has the blackout sleek look and has a nice weight to it.

Having used full-frame mirrorless from Nikon, Canon and Sony (as well the S1R, S1H from Panasonic), and most refently the Sony A7iv, I can say with 35+ years of photography / videography experience that the S5iiX is a superb camera. Panasonic fixed the autofocus issue from the S5 (amd haunts the S1, S1R,S1H), and it removed the impediment to owning a Panasonic full-frame camera. What has this made the S5iix as result? The most well-rounded hybrid full-frame camera on the marker, especially for the price. 24MP is the sweet spot, but I wouldnt mind a few more. Everything about this model is just about right. The added featires for video-specific use (a big one is able to stream live from the camera!) makes the $200 premium of no consequence, they are really worth $500+ more. And, while minor, I appreciare the blacked-out subtlety of the S5iix as well. - In conclusion, do not overlook the Panasonic S5ii and iix. Sony, Canon, Nikon spend more moneu on adveetising and display space (and fund specialists at Best Buy too), overshadowing the Panasonic brand, and these cameras. But you, being a wise consumer can look past the advertising and promotion, and in doing so you will find the gem of full-frame mireorless cameras, and hybrid in the S5ii / iix.

Great camera with TONS of features. If you like to film and take photos, this is a fantastic all-in-one that has 5.3k opengate filming and a very high resolution photo mode. Definitely upgrade your lens ASAP because this kit lens glass is rough.

Is this the ( video/Still) full frame camera that I have waited for most of my adult life?.... If not, it's pretty darn close!.... Down side... so so many features, so many settings, so many buttons... I know I know... cry me a river!... So bottom line... It's a pro camera in most every way for a price that is 1/2 to 1/3 its competitors.... The video and stills are 6K gorgeous.... You can make a feature film with this camera!

I purchased this camera for its open gate video features. It’s a video beast for the a mirrorless camera around 2k. Very happy so far.

No other brand offers the same quality at the low price like Panasonic Lumix. They have incredible features some of which are not available eith other brands like Canon and Nikon or Sony.
