it is a great step up from your phone. I bought this camera because a photographer said I should buy a camera instead of using my phone to take pictures. it is a great introduction into taking pictures start with the automatic modes and then progress. if you think you like taking pictures then this is for you.

I wanted a replacement for my Panasonic, ZS 8. The ZS 8 was 14.1 megapixel, 16X zoom. I enjoyed the ZS 8, but recently the zoom function has not always worked. I thought this would be great replacement because of the longer zoom, higher resolution, and view finder in addition to the lcd back screen. After working with the ZS100, in a variety of shooting situations, I decided that it was not the camera for me, for the following reasons: 1) the viewfinder was really difficult to use wearing glasses. If I removed my glasses, then I couldn't see the adjustments made with the diopter. 2) Unlike the most recent edition of the ZS cameras, this one had no texture at the points where you hold the camera. It is a smooth surface. This made it difficult for me to grasp the camera securely while trying to make adjustments. 3) I shot comparison images with the ZS8, IPhone 7 and ZS100. I did not see a significant improvement in image quality. I returned the ZS100 and purchased a Sony HX400V. It is a substantially larger camera, a bridge camera. It also has a fixed lense with a 50X optical zoom, A tiltable 3' rear screen, an optical view finder, and better gripping surfaces. An additional bonus for me is that I also own a Sony A58 SLT, that has very similar controls and functions.

Loved the picture quality of this camera- the app was awesome as well as it allowed you to upload the images automatically to your phone or share it on social media. Video quality was great as well!

I liked everything about the camera except the need to press "AF" every time it was not focused. Once focused it's a very good camera for the price and definitely is a top 10 point-and-shoot camera. If minimal need for auto focus it is a great camera, especially for the price. It has very good sound and very good video. I returned it within two weeks because of the "AF" issue.

If you want some great photos with 10x zoom this one is awesome!! Has a feature to take pictures where you can choose where to focus after taking the photo. While not the easiest to do that it does work! Lover hit. :)

This was a gift for teenager. She loves it very much. She has been using it and making very nice photographs.

Love this camera! It is very easy to use. I took the first one out west on vacation and lost it. This is the second one.

Wanted a small, light camera for those times the DSLR was too heavy and large and this thing really delivers. Fast start up, rapid fire shutter, and super quality images. Eye level view finder was a must.

Although a bit ugly (I hate black) and smooth bodied, making it easy to drop, the ZS100 has impressive specifications and a nice, small size which is great for travel photography, for instance while hiking or sightseeing.

Very fast shutter speed and works in low light. Lightroom does not recognize the camera’s RAW format. You can download a free converter from Adobe that adds a couple step to editing. Also, the images tend to be a little soft. Camera is OK-ish. Wouldn’t recommend it.

This camera is like a good solid swiss army knife, as everything i need is there. No other camera has all these features and can still fit in your pocket.

Works well most of the time. Focus is off on intelligent mode sometimes when shooting moving or low light photos. Picture quality mostly very good even at high zoom levels.

love my new camera, allows me to do more than just shoot a picture. slightly bigger than my last camera, but still small enough for travels and hiking.

Replaced an earlier model that had finally died, very similar but more expensive. At least I didn’t have to start from scratch learning a new camera! It’s a great size, takes good pics, easy to adjust settings and has a viewfinder- critical when taking pics in bright sunlight.

This camera has taken some of the best concert pictures even from far away! The 4k video are immaculate.

Great zoom and picture quality for a compact camera. I have a big Lumix with 60x optical Zoom. Needed something smaler but with good quality

I just may give up my DSLR. This camera is fantastic. It is capable enough for a Pro but can be simple enough to operate for a good amateur photographer. Lots of creative options. Takes great photos.
