This radio has the worst reception of any radio I have ever owned. I have radios from thirty years ago that have clear and better reception. Panasonic used to have quality products but not anymore.

AM reception is weak and sound is a bit tinny but overall a 3 out of 5.

Awful!! Could never get AM to work. Even FM had crackling noises.

This is a great little radio. I wanted something small but has good sound quality. Very pleased with this radio. Plus you can’t beat the price.

the tone is very harsh (bad). I have radios that are half the size that have much more pleasing tone.

Was looking for an AM/FM radio that could be turned On and Off with a wall timer. Most of the current AM/FM radios are totally digital and once turned Off, they won't turn back On without pressing the power button. The RF-2400D, however, will automatically turn On when power (AC) is restored because of the mechanical Off/FM/AM switch. Exactly what I needed. It should be noted that the RF-2400D is an upgrade to the previous RF-2400 and uses digital signal processing (DSP) to lock in the station. The radio is very simple to operate and has an internal ferrite-core antenna for AM and an external rod antenna for FM. There was a considerable amount of background noise/hiss in the lower AM frequencies but rotating the radio, as advised in the User Manual, provided a noticeable improvement. I think that Sony radios offer better sound quality, but the Panasonic RF-2400D offers better value. Definitely recommended!

This radio is part of my hurricane readiness pack. Has good sound with little to no scratchiness.

My Son is "Obsessed so to speak with this sound quality radio! He loves adjusting the Dial to different stations. The Dial is just the right size

Great Radio with the option to use batteries or plug it into a wall. Picks up a lot more stations than my old radio

The volume doesn't adjust smoothly and blares loudly if you just touch it. Try to lower the volume and you have no sound. By the time it developed this problem it was too late to return. I should have made a stink and demanded my money back. Never heard of such a weird problem. Just DON'T BUY THIS RADIO. It's junk.

I have had this radio for a few years, at first it worked fine and then big problems with the volumn . Tried everything recommended and nothing works. I am just going to have to trash it. Hoping to find another am/fm radio that will last a little longer.
